First Time flying spirit so I didn’t what to expect. There was no running water in the restrooms and no beverage served. Which is standard on all other carriers. . The seats and tray table were smaller than normal which was weird. Every seat was full on both flights. The layover was pretty long but i just had my free personal bag and was alone. It wasn’t too bad and the flight was considerably cheaper. Had I been with my kids this would’ve been a nightmare. I will say that boarding on and off the plane was super quick due to most people just having the free personal item bag!
I would not recommend choosing Spirit Airlines, despite their seemingly low fares. Upon booking one’s flight, one must also pay for seating, carry-on bags, checked bags, snacks, Wi-Fi, and beverages, including water. One will also receive multiple solicitations to “bid“ for roomier seating among other obnoxious offers. Our flight was delayed due to weather and traffic, which is not the fault of the airline, but the staff and system were unable to communicate in an accurately and timely way. The gate information was not updated in real time. The gate crew and flight crew instructed us to reach out to customer service for assistance, which we did prior to departure, but Wi-Fi was not available on this flight, so once in the air, we were not able to prepare for any connection issues when we landed. I able to text with customer service prior to departure, but that representative did not have information about connecting flights and gates at other airports. The flight crew was unable to share gate information as we arrived at the connecting location. They did attempt to hold one connection for people traveling to Chicago. (there were 21 on board), but when those people deplaned, the flight they were told had been held for them had not actually been held. We were all herded to a customer service desk with only two individuals to manage it. Most of the crew throughout the day did not seem to have training in how to work with tired and stressed travelers, and they did not use any de-escalation techniques. As a result, there were four screaming matches at the customer service desk we were sitting near during the five hours we waited to make a standby connection. At one point a gate agent and passenger were screaming at one another across the entire gate area. The second flight was also delayed (once again a result of a challenging weather day), but when the crew arrived to inspect the aircraft, there was a fight among crew members that was audible from the gate. At one point a manager ran in and closed the door so we could not hear our “professional“ crew screaming obscenities at one another. We were ultimately herded aboard and reached our destination at 3 AM. While the weather and airport traffic was out of everybody’s hands, the lack of communication and professionalism and the unsafe conditions (passenger and crew tempers were raging) make me believe that Spirit Airlines is not a safe or reasonable choice. Once all the additional fees are added, it is as economical and much more pleasant to fly another airline.
Ya I like it,
There were empty seat on the plane but crew would not let passengers sit on those even after flight took off.
Was on time.
Flight attendant was a smart mouth. Uncomfortable seats.
The flight was hindered because they somehow had the wrong birthday listed for the return flight. I had to return to the front desk to fix their mistake and I missed the return flight. I don’t understand how they can have different information for a return flight. The initial flight I didn’t have this issue. That airlines is horrible!
Flight attendant very friendly. Seats not adjustable like before. I was in the middle seat and two big guys next to me isn’t to pleasant. No used to have delays in the past and now is too often.
Seats could use more padding. Kind of hard on the tush.
Offer better seats.
Whoever is in charge of the desk and door to the plan on both ends was an A**hole. I know they have to deal with a lot if stupid peple but come on. No one wants to get onto a plane angry. smh
the seats are not comfy
The Spirit travel experience was exceptional during the peak holiday season. The flight was on time and the service was exceptional.
Boarding was delayed because they were understaffed and had only one baggage drop machine going. The gate staff seemed indifferent. Olsen crew were very nice, though.
The issue I have is when we landed in Vegas (Dallas to Vegas). It seems as if we were traveling too fast during landing. I’m not sure what is was but it seems as if the nose of plane banged the ground making a loud bam nose. We went back into the air instantly. It took about 5 minutes for the pilot or someone to say a wind drift caused the hard landing, and that we would land in about 5 minutes. Many of us passengers did not believe the reason given. The second attempt was much smoother but this does not make me want to fly spirit again. The flight from Detroit to Dallas was fine.

Highly disorganized & experienced a flight delay while luggage was lost.

Had to check in my very expensive survey equipment on the bottom of the plane and still cost me $330 dollars.
Deleted flights Aruba to Fortlauderdade more 8 hrs Deleted flight Fortlauderdade to Aruba for 4 hrs . No food vaucher terrible services 😞
Our flight was an hour delayed
Entertainment, better seats
A was ok
Changing the boarding gates multiple times was frustrating.
The flight got delayed three times, and finally got cancelled.
Take-off was initially announced would be delayed 15-20 mins. An hour later, an announcement was made we’d waited so long to take off that pilots needed to swap out due to flight hours on their shift. Then further delay caused them to announce flight crew needed for to be swamped out. Then waited even longer for extra fuel due delayed so long. They announced they would provide complimentary snacks and beverages were to be given out due to the delays- a plastic cup with about 4oz of water (no ice) per passenger and packs of 2 biscoff cookies. No running water to wash hands in bathrooms. Full plane, btw.
Everything
There was nothing to like! 1. Seats are hard and extremely small in width and length 2. Back is hard and not reclining at all 3. Even water was not offered 4. $100 per laguage 5. Carry-on is around $100 6. 1.5 hours to get my laguage I could not believe that this is happening in the USA!! Just terrible! Atrocious quality of everything!

Airbus is chosen as the preferred manufacturer, making up the entirety of the fleet. The A320 and A321 families of aircraft are used for the majority of services. Unmistakable with any other carrier, the Spirit fleet is painted in a bold yellow design that has been labelled the taxi livery. Check underneath the pilot window to see if the plane you’re traveling on has a name. Some examples include Spirit of the Americas and Spirit of Orlando.
