Cons: Lying about property details on the phone prior to booking about essentials like black out curtains which was a precondition for us to make the booking. Staff did not want to remedy, manager on duty being rude and having way too much attitude, we suggested solutions like additional curtains but they just offered us to cut short the stay and leave (we did get refund upon insisting though) We felt we could have found a solution but the manager (Victoria I think her name was) gave us such attitude and in an absolutely unacceptable way that we didn’t have a choice but leave. Paulina at check in was very friendly though but didn’t have the power to resolve. The room condition was way below expectations and pictures are photo shopped, covering up run down room condition. AC was making loud funky sounds, upon check in we waited an hour for it to be fixed and dealt with the maintenance guy who was friendly though (after a 15h flight it was very tiring regardless and having to leave and look for a new hotel unshowered and tired and my wife pregnant was really not cool) Kimpton Not again for us for sure

Pros: I love the European style coziness of the High Line Hotel. Our room was comfortably large and surprisingly quiet even though we were on the first floor near a busy intersection. Cons: Although the hotel is amazing, really stylish and well located, the staff left a very poor impression, especially the staff that answers the phone. I called prior to the date of my booking to inquire whether there were any options to order roses or something like that (this being our engagement night), and the person just told me "no, we don't do that kind of stuff" in a pretty rude way. When we arrived in the hotel, after the very efficient check-in, we were pointed in a direction without a friendly and good description of which elevator to take and even while we were the only guests in the lobby, the staff did not bother to check whether we stepped in the right elevator (which we did not). Then, when I called after our stay to inquire why there were four different charges to my credit cards that did not align with the agreed upon rate, the person on the phone was again rude and could not even explain what was going on (I could hear her sighing on the phone and saying stuff like "oh my god..." while checking the booking). My advice to the staff would be: please realize that you are working in a high-end and not so cheap hotel, and that guests expect to be treated with at least some hospitality, so be friendly, say "please" now and then and if you cannot accommodate a guest's request or if you cannot help the guest with a question, just say that in a friendly and nice manner. I used a very friendly tone throughout all my conversations with them, but that had no effect whatsoever. That is why I feel compelled to share this feedback.

Pros: I love the European style coziness of the High Line Hotel. Our room was comfortably large and surprisingly quiet even though we were on the first floor near a busy intersection. The shower was great, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. In a great location near many restaurants and shops. I would definitely stay here again.

We arrived very early in the morning and yet she made sure a room was available for us. Also, Brian Mauro, the General Manager seemed to be always around and ready to be helpful with everything. I made sure to take their cards to give them an excellent shout-out. The suite was very nice with a good view, and we enjoyed the rooftop bar, Mykonos Blue, in the early evening and late night, great views all around.

Pros: City Rooms Chelsea does a very good job of providing a clean, safe, and relatively comfortable alternative to expensive accommodations in midtown Manhattan. Shared bathrooms and tiny spaces are not for everyone, but for the budget visitor I felt good about the selection of this hotel. Pros: City Rooms Chelsea does a very good job of providing a clean, safe, and relatively comfortable alternative to expensive accommodations in midtown Manhattan. Shared bathrooms and tiny spaces are not for everyone, but for the budget visitor I felt good about the selection of this hotel. However, the room smelled very musty. We think it was the AC and, or the carpet. The bed was really uncomfortable. The mattress squeaked every time one of us moved.

Cons: We booked a five night stay. On the second night as we were going to sleep we got a knock on the door from security who questioned us about our stay. Their system said the room was supposed to be empty but I had checked in with one of them the day before and the booking was made and paid for in full months in advance It was very upsetting for my mother. This is a trip following her birthday and coming up to my Father's anniversary and emotions are high so it was far from ideal. I found it very upsetting as I had put a lot of time into planning this trip for her and this incident occurred on the second night. They apologised and sent us up a platter of cheese slices and fruit the next day but honestly it didn't make up for the fright and upset my mother experience at the beginning of what was supposed to be an exciting and distracting trip. It coloured the rest of our stay at that hotel and we didn't feel comfortable at all afterwards in the building. I don't believe the small fruit platter was adequate recompense and considering this was my first stay at a Hilton hotel I can't say I would consider them favourable in the future. I do think the staff should have offered more but they seemed at a loss and a sheepish about the whole incident.

Cons: The staff were variable in terms of customer service, to say the least. Some were rude. There were only 2 lifts servicing all 26 floors including use by house staff and their equipment. The rooms were very basic and tired looking.

Comfy bed, and the sofa bed was made up with sheets as requested. The location can't be beat if you're taking Amtrak. It has a nice bar, and room service.

Cons: We were encouraged to upgrade to include a kitchen with our studio apartment and paid a premium for this. The kitchen was completely devoid of equipment, not even an electric kettle to make tea. No cups, plates or knives & forks. We requested some things but they never appeared.
