From checking-in, Georgina on Reception making it smooth and easy and Charles sorting a query by phone a little later, to everyone who served us in the Clipper Bar that evening, to the lady in the Brassiere (sorry, didn’t get her name) the next morning who moved us to a window table when that was what we needed. Excellent service throughout.

Cons: We arrived at 430PM and were told that the room had not been allocated as yet, we were attending the event at 530PM so time was limited. We were given a complimentary drink voucher while we waited. Only waited 20 minutes and was allocated a room. This was a busy period for the hotel as there was 2 big events on so not a massive issue. When we got back to the room at 1130PM we found the AC not working and they said they would send someone to fix it but friend was asleep so did not want this to be done. On check out the fault was brought up and they gave us free parking for the inconvenience which was great so the staff are very good

We booked a luxury double room! £118, We would not like to see what a standard double looked liked, curtain poles hanging off walls, toilet seat hanging off, shower dirty, you could feel the bed springs big time! We would never ever recommend this place, a hostel would have been 5* compared to this place, we couldn't wait to get out of this dirty place!! we have enjoyed every place we have booked with booking.com and we have booked a fair few times, we DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!

Pros: Good place to stay, in the middle of a fun area, dinner at the restaurant was good and the staff were very nice. There are some exterior Reno’s taking place but that did not bother us. It was quite the ride from Heathrow, took us an hour and forty minutes which we did not expect since it’s only 23 miles away. Would stay again if we needed a place in this area. It was the pickup spot for a bus tour we were doing early the next morning. So it was convenient for us to book here.

Cons: The room I had on the ground floor originally was really not up to scratch. For some reason it was a joining room but the door The was locked so I’m always suspicious about staying in a room with a door locked in the room. It’s looks like also a lot of room and some areas had been bashed or kicked in by previous guests. They also had some noisy drunk lads next to my room so that’s why I asked for the room change. It seems to be they stick the drunken ones downstairs and the more quieter guests upstairs.

Cons: The common room / kitchen was being renovated so was never available during my stay - meaning no way to prepare own meals and no where to hang out in the evening except the dorm if you did not want to be in the pub. The other knock on effect was that the laundry was not available to use because it was used for left luggage. Nice from pub was quite low and late at weekends.

Someone was horrendously sick literally the length of the corridor to my dorm. Someone did clean it up but not to a satisfactory standard as there was still bits of sick left and the floor was really sticky.....not to mention it still smelt horrendous after the supposed clean up!

Cons: there was a fat English guy at the check in, he was extremely rude and I am convinced that he is racist. I defiantly will never come back again to this hostel because of him. the hostel is in a pub, so there is loud music in the room till late at night. there is no common area, and the hostel is not cozy one bit.
