You can't beat the Sofitel's location for a night between flights. But the price is steep and the rooms are just as in any average hotel half the price; nothing I remember as standing out. The bed is way too soft. I definitely sleep better at a Travelodge's or Premier Inn's. But then, it's right next to the check-in... And it's dead quiet. It's a tough price but not a hard sell if you have an early flight. But if I fly a little later, I'd go back to some budget places with a better bed.

We stayed here as we had a flight to catch. It was extremely easy to get to the terminal and food was lovely. The prices for the food in the restaurants were pretty extortionate. However, the breakfast compensated. There needs to be a more smoother transition to the egg station as there were many people standing around waiting for eggs. Possibly egg orders can be taken from the table the same way as the coffees. The staff at Sofitel were great.

Brilliant location and friendly staff. One little gripe to note is that you pay for parking for your stay but if you leave the car park during your time period then next time you wish to leave eg at check out then the machine at exit recognises that you have exited the once and barrier does not open. You then need to ring the buzzer n explain what has happened which was frustrating n must happen all the time???? Please sort this out.

We had flown in from Hong Kong and were transiting overnight at Heathrow with an 8.20am departure the next morning. After check in at approximately 7.15pm, we stopped by the restaurant to make a dinner reservation for 7.45pm. Even though we could see that the restaurant has many empty tables, we were curtly advised by the restaurant staff that the earliest we could book would be 8.30pm. Given we were traveling with young children and we were all tired after our flights, we elected to go for room service. We ordered room service of 2 burgers, 1 kids fish and chips and 1 kids chicken and chips at 7.45pm. We were advised to allow 40 minutes (for a meal that would take 10 minutes to prepare). After waiting 45 minutes, we called to enquire of the status of our meal. We were told it would be another 15 minutes. They hastily cooked our meal and it arrived at 8.50pm. The children were mostly asleep by this stage and we were no longer interested either. The Pinot Noir was undrinkable. Staff were apologetic. We were not charged for our dinner. The whole experience gave the impression that the hotel trades on its location as the only hotel located at terminal 5.

Room was super clean and bed very comfortable. We checked in early and our room was not yet ready, but they were kind enough to give us a different room which was a kind of a downgrade, but we gladly accepted it as all we wanted was to go to sleep, after a night flight.

This comment is for Travelocity’s attention: the hotel would not recognize my Accor Hotel membership and would not credit my Accor account for this stay. Neither were they willing to give us access to the Club which is a courtesy they normally give Accor members. All of this was because we did not book directly with Accor, rather through Travelocity. We understand that this is Accor’s policy and not Travelocity’s fault, but, if you want to keep us as customer, can’t you work with the hotel chain to remedy this shortcoming?

My case was delayed so I would have liked extra touches expected in a higher end hotel. A bathrobe and toothbrush, comb and hair conditioner would have been nice. Also we were made to queue on checking in as we got stuck behind a plane full of people whose flight had been cancelled. We had a confirmed booking so it would have been appreciated if we could have checked straight in. Staff very friendly and helpful at reception and concierge the following day. I think we were unlucky with a bad patch at check in.

As a Le Club Accor member I have stayed at numerous Sofitel's across the world. The staff at Heathrow Sofitel were uninformed for a airport hotel and the service was substandard. Although the bed was very comfortable the room lights randomly turned on in the middle of the night, in both rooms waking us. The tv's did not work due to flat batteries in the remotes and the expected niceties for this brand of hotel and at this cost such as a bottle of water didn't exist. Those are really two items that I need at my fingertips when I'm doing a quick layover with late arrival and early departure. Really poor for a hotel that claims 5 stars. It was located next to the terminal 5. If you have a early flight, or in case there is any sudden change of your flight schedule, this hotel would be a best choice. Additionally, the breakfast is quite impressive if ever you have a time to eat in their "buffet-style" restaurant before you leave.

The staff was very rude, especially when they are pointed out that they made a mistake in billing by over-charging their guest. Instead of apology, I was just given a rude / unprofessional gesture and comments as if they did not do anything wrong.
