St. Maarten entry details and exceptions

Travelers are allowed to enter Sint Maarten.

Travelers arriving at Princess Juliana International Airport are required to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 for 5 days. Travelers will receive a daily email alert providing a link for submitting the required information online. Travelers who stay in the island for less than 5 days will have to submit the information for the time of their stay on the island.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Unvaccinated visitors from India must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken within 48 hours before departing to St. Maarten.

Fully vaccinated visitors with approved vaccination certificates do not need to present a negative COVID-19 test.

Details and exceptions
Arriving unvaccinated travelers must have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR obtained from a nasopharyngeal swab test result. The test result has to be uploaded as part of the EHAS application procedure. A COVID-19 RT-PCR test must be taken before the departure of the last leg of the flight to Sint Maarten. This applies to travelers in transit. The test result should clearly specify the name of the laboratory, test subject name, test date, type of test administered, and how the test sample was obtained.
This requirement does not apply to fully vaccinated travelers, travelers under the age of 5, travelers with proof of recovering from COVID-19 a maximum of 9 months before departure if they can provide either a government/public health authority issued proof of recovery (digital COVID-19 recovery certificate or letter), a lab-issued positive COVID-19 PCR test result indicating a Ct value of 35 or higher, or a signed and stamped COVID-19 recovery letter from a physician accompanied by a positive COVID-19 PCR test result.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors from India are not required to quarantine after entering St. Maarten.

Details and exceptions
All incoming passengers arriving at Princess Juliana International Airport (Sint Maarten) are subjected to temperature checks and other screening protocols and may be subjected to mandatory testing at their own expense. If re-tested upon arrival, travelers will be expected to self-quarantine at their place of lodging or residence until the test results are known.
Documents
Travelers including citizens, residents, and transit travelers are required to complete health authorization applications through the Electronic Health Authorization System in order to enter Sint Maarten and St. Martin through Princess Juliana International Airport. Travelers are encouraged to complete the application as soon as they receive their COVID-19 RT-PCR test results. Once completed and approved travelers will receive a printable authorization by email. Processing of this application can take up to 12 hours.
Travelers are required to have health insurance coverage that is valid in St. Maarten. This does not apply to travelers in transit, residents, flight crews, AUC faculty and students, BES-ZVK medical referrals, and French nationals. The insurance purchasing process is an integrated step in the EHAS application. This requirement does not apply to transit travelers departing the same day, and French nationals residing in France or French territory.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Unvaccinated travelers returning from St. Maarten must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken within 72 hours before departure to India.

Fully vaccinated travellers with approved vaccination certificates do not need to present a negative COVID-19 test.

Details and exceptions
Travelers should upload their negative RT-PCR test report in the Air Suvidha Portal prior to boarding their flight.
Travelers will undergo a medical screening upon arrival and may be subject to a covid-19 molecular test at their own expense.
Children under 5 years of age are exempted from both pre and post-arrival testing.
Fully vaccinated travelers with WHO-recognized or Nationally-recognized vaccines are also exempted from testing requirements. Proof of vaccination should be uploaded in the Air Suvidha Portal.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from St. Maarten are not required to quarantine upon entering India.

Details and exceptions
Quarantine is no longer required. However, travelers are advised to self-monitor their health for 14 days from arrival and if they develop signs and symptoms suggestive of COVID19, they should immediately self-isolate and report to their nearest health facility or call National helpline number (1075)/ State Helpline Number.
