Kayak car rental in Vegas
Pros: The manager gave me a full size SUV for $15 per day more.
Cons: I was told Kayak sent the wrong information and I was going to get a compact SUV when I had purchased an Equinox or similar type vehicle. FOX said they no longer carry that and that I would have to pay more for a larger vehicle. I complained and got the manager.

Pros: We got what we reserved Ford Mustang convertible and for cheaper then the rest! At first we thought it would be inconvenient because the rental agency was not located on site with the rest of the airport rentals but they bus you to their location which is closer to the strip and shorter lines! Plus it made the uber back to our hotel cheaper then from the airport! I'm sure they run shuttles back and forth all day for those who fly directly out after rental.

Value for Money Car Rental if you have time on han
Pros: The rental costs are very transparent and almost 50% +< other companies. The staff is friendly and don't push you to buy unnecessary insurance and accessories.
Cons: The pick up and drop location is far away from the other car rental companies which means one needs to budget at least additional 30 minutes for transport. The rental office was under staffed and even with a Q of just 4 people in front for pickup it took me more than 45 minutes for pickup. The copier ran out of papers and the POS machines were extremely slow.

Pros: The vehicle did not dissapoint
Cons: Sneakyness. Car was dirty. Compulsory insurance not included in original quote, minimum $30 extra/day. The attendant promised us that we have three hours grace to bring car back late, then we got charged per hour for bringing car back 2 hours late. The rental cental is far from airport and service is slow. Rather stick to the car rental brands you know!

Pros: The car was filthy inside and dirty outside when i got it. I paid for a roadside assistance and when we needed one nobody came. 2 miles after i got the car the oil light came up and the car had a lot of damages all over.

Cons: I distinctly told the counter person that I wanted no additional insurance and when given the contract to initial and sign questioned that the total was different from what I had expected. I was told that the high total was because there billing system assumed I was bringing the car back empty. This still didn't seem right but as their printer was out of ink and the contract mostly unreadable anyway I let it slide. When I went out to the lot to pick up the car, I was told by the guy there that I didn't need to inspect the car for damages as I had opted for the extra insurance coverage. At this point I had the contract rewritten to get rid of the extra insurance which I believe Payless counter person had intentionally added to my contract and then lied about. Payless is owned by Avis who had tried to pull the same thing over on me less than a month earlier. Avis/Payless has apparently decided that sneakily up grading the insurance coverage on peoples' contracts is an acceptable way to increase their profits several hundred percent on a rental. This has to stop.

Drop-off was easy and efficient.
Cons: Very long wait (60-90 min.) at pick-up, employees made no effort to speed up the process. In fact a couple in front of us, had been helped and were waiting at the counter, when the associate helping them disappeared. They asked the associate helping us where he went, he replied, "he's probably in the back and not coming back out because you were filming the transaction with your phone."
Also the price of the total car was twice as much as we expected. When I had reserved the car online with Kayak, it quoted us around $220, however the total ended up being $423. Would have never rented the car if I had known what the actual price would have been with all the hidden fees.

Cons: Someone wrote wrong mileage on paper so when we returned the car the mileage showed less than the mileage at rental time. This wasted 45 minutes and delayed us in getting to the airport. We were sent upstairs to stand in line. They then sent us down below. Then they asked for extra money for upgrade but we didn't pay since we never asked for an upgrade.

Cons: Payless Las Vegas Airport: I had a simple question as to my ability to drive a Payless Las Vegas Airport Rental car into Colorado ... called the phone number 2,000 times ( at a minimum) ... always got a busy signal. BS operation; BS customer service. Cancelled the reservation and went to a reputable car rental operation. I finally got thru to someone at another Payless location who advised that the Payless Las Vegas Airport is not a corporate store ... it is a franchise store and the owner does not want his/her cars in Colorado ... no reason given. BUT ... that does not excuse the shitty customer service.
Pros: The lady at the office was very nice and personable. Very busy for this office but was only 1 of a few that were open on Sundays.
Cons: Number of cars that were reserved wasn't more than what was on hand. Almost received a smaller car than I reserved but they found another car but I had to wait for it to be cleaned.

I called Hertz and emailed Kayak for a FULL refund. Your company has no phone number to call, I've got no reply nor a refund. I am very disappointed and angry there is no contact info available. Refund the order I placed and paid ASAP!

Screwed up and sent res to wrong city
Cons: My reservation was sent to a resort in Sumerlin instead of McCarren. Airport . The clerk at Hertz refused to transfer the order and so did customer service at Hertz. They were only willing to charge me $440 for the mistake. The clerk in Sumerlin told me to take a cab, it took 45 minutes and when we got there he had another Kayak customer the exact same thing happened too. Not what we paid for
Pros: Nothing really stood out as something that we liked.
Cons: The car we received was a smaller class than we paid for. We had to scour 2 lots looking for the car. When we went back in to let them know we couldn't find the car, the employee was nowhere to be found. We needed help from the valet at the hotel to help us locate the car which was not where we were told it would be nor the car that we were told we were getting.
The car was dirty (outside) and had low tire pressure on all 4 tires. Since we needed to get on the road and got the car later than our reservation was supposed to be for due to employee showing up late and having to search for the car, we couldn't wait any longer. Over the next 2 days, we left 3 messages and not one phone call back. We spent the following day trying to resolve the situation, losing a day of our vacation. Finally talked to someone at the location where we picked up the car and she told us we would be responsible if anything was wrong with the tires and for us to find another location with the car we actually paid for. We spent about 4 hours on the phone with all locations in the Denver area along with the headquarters and no one was able to help us.
Finally getting a hold of the hotel where we rented the car (not affiliated with rental company) they connected me to the manager of that branch. He told us he would credit us for the difference between the class we paid for and the one we received. At this time we realized the tires were just low on air as we filled the up and they were holding the air. He also told us we would get a gift certificate when we returned the car for their mistake and not to worry about filling the car back up with gas.
Upon returning the car, we had to return it approximately 2 hours earlier than we scheduled to have it because the branch was closing. We arrived, no gift certificate waiting for us. I had to ask for it. He told me there was a refund of $75 pending. Again, no inspection upon returning the car.
Waiting several days, still no refund on our card. I called the manager. He didn't remember any of our previous conversations and told me he never authorized a $75 credit to our account. I explained that his employee was the one who told me this. He said he didn't know where he got that information from. He also told me he was not going to credit me anything because it was only one class lower and not enough of a difference. I explained that the gift certificate wasn't even there and I had to ask for it. He said the employee must have forgotten but he told him. Needless to say, I have a gift certificate I'm not going to use because for one, we rarely rent cars and it's only good for a year and two, I wouldn't use them again. He still refused to give me the money back from giving us the wrong size car.

Rep in a hurry to leave shop refused service
Cons: Made a reservation for my husband. When he came to pick up rep refused service as the paying credit card is under my name but the booking reservation is under husband's name. The email confirmation is also under my husband's name but before he can point it out rep just keeps saying we're out of luck and quickly closed shop. It was very obvious she just wanted to get the hell out of there, her shift was done, no time to further help out. Customer left out in the cold. The702 phone number on the confirmation booking for customer service is not working on that day. Called the 800 number from their website the following day. The person I spoke to Clariss was sympathetic enough, apologized and told me I will get a refund. The next day I got an email saying I am not getting a refund as the car wasn't picked up. So f'd up. Will pursue other avenues to get money back.

Cons: The young man checking us out a 7 am was rude. The Van to the airport car rental center left without coming inside to see if anyone needed a ride. He was kind enough to return and pick us up however once he was called and informed he had left without us. The van driver was very nice. Don't use this place if you have tight connections. It is a 2 stop journey from the airport.

Pros: There was really no part of this experience I liked. The counter person was snobby, the agent I returned the car to was unpolite and never get me a receipt like he said he would. If anything was positive about this experience it prob be the shuttle driver and kid helped me with bringing up my car. Both were very friendly and informative.
Cons: Didn't have the convertible I had reserved three months before the pick up. Gave me a full size car and charged me same price that I reserved the covertable for. They try to scam you with the pre purchased full option. I returned the car full and declined the fuel purchase option but I was still charged 57 bucks for it even though the car was full

Cons: When we picked up car in Las Vegas and indicated that we would be driving all around National Parks and Death Valley the staff told us not to worry about the tire pressure light (which was supposed to be incorrect). Turned out it was correct. They hadn't bothered to put air in. Also, drop off and pick up is not at the airport as indicated. You must get on a bus with all of your baggage, to just get to the car rental facility about 15 mins away. Need to know the schedules otherwise you could miss a plane.

Worst car rental experience ever.
Cons: Not only was the rental location offsite from where the car rental hub is in Las Vegas, it's in a shady back room of a travel agency. The shuttle never came to pick us up so we had to take a cab to the rental location. I originally purchased the rental insurance knowing that my personal insurance policy covered the rental, but I thought double coverage for only $18, better safe than sorry. The guy at the counter tried to upsell everything without telling you there was additional cost behind it. He also informed me that the additional trip insurance didn't cover liability. So he made me provide proof of my personal insurance, which that covered. Then he told me both insurances didn't cover loss of vehicle so I would have to pay an additional $19 for that coverage. Additionally there was $25 worth of taxes and surcharges added to the rental total. So what started as a $44 rental, ballooned into nearly $100 ripoff. When returning the car we waited in line for 15 minutes for customer service only to find out the area to return the vehicle was in a different location, the only sign that directed where to return was knocked over in some bushes. After the drop off we hopped in the shuttle to take us back to the hotel only to find out they only drop off to the airport, so we had to get out halfway and Uber back. This company has poor communication and terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and spend a bit more to avoid all the hassle.

Filthy damaged car with rude service
Pros: The service was terrible!! The vehicles were not taken care of. The 1st car they tried to pawn off on me was filthy on the interior and smelt of smoke. The exterior had damage from a previous accident. The exterior had so many scuffs and marks I would have been there for at least another hour disclosing them all. Since I would not accept that car they told me there was not many other options. I had no choice but to accept and pay for a trashed car!!! I will never use this company again!!! I will pay extra for a well known company next time!!
Cons: I like nothing about this place!! The cars are old , filthy and damaged. The website they use and the cars they offer are not the same. BEWARE don't use Ace car rental!!

Cons: We took a van so our whole family could go together. Going there was great we parked at a cruise terminal, was gone for 3 days. When we came out to go home our van had a flat tire. No spare on the van. I forgot my paperwork at home so I looked all over for a phone number, none in vehicle. I googled the number they said they would call their L.A. office. Long story short 3 hrs later they brought us a new van to go home. They also could not find my name anywhere when I called.
Pros: Overall the vehicle was very nice and the location of the rental kiosk was very convenient
Cons: Our car wasn't ready when we got there. At first we were told we wouldn't even be getting the convertible that we asked for because both of the vehicles they had were due for maintenance and dirty. Finally the guy helping us went out to check them and after waiting for 45 from our original pickup time so that they could clean it, we were able to get the car we had reserved. It was a pleasant experience from that point forward but I was not impressed with them not having a car ready that had been reserved with 24 hours notice.

Pros: Car was clean and nearly new. It had a few nice options like a backup camera, powered seats etc. which was unexpected.
Cons: I was surprised to find that the gas tank was not full and only noticed a mile away from the rental location. Probably two gallons less than full. Not worth the time and hassle to go back to the car rental location.

Pros: Roll windows, no power locks (i had to climb in the front and back to lock up), stained seats, check engine light on, and intermittently another light which I think meant loose gas cap was also on. Probably the worst car I have ever rented, but it did get me from A to B.

Pros: Easy to park, good gas mileage. It was a Chevy spark. It was fine for my needs, one person, one suitcase, short trips around the area, no long drives. Easy to pick up and drop off. Decent rate. Check in/out was real fast.
Cons: The car was noisy when driving. Seats had stains. Smell of covered up cigarette smoke. Not as much visibility as I'm used to.

Less quality than expected
Pros: The return process was quick.
Cons: The car was not cleaned, there were wrappers, left over gum in both the side pockets, beef jerky in a bag in the center counsel, receipts everywhere and In N Out straws in the center counsel. I also requested an SUV and was told I would have a Ford Edge or similar. I specifically requested this, as I was traveling with 3 college football players. Unfortunately, they gave me a Chevy Captiva, which had zero leg room and was very uncomfortable, the entire trip. I also did not appreciate the service provided at the counter. I always purchase insurance and was intending to buy LDW, however the rep insisted on going over them 10x's over and making rude remarks and providing terrible alternative analogies, if I were not to purchase the insurance. The only good part was dropping it off, I got out, he scanned it, I got a receipt.
Pros: The staff was really courteous and professional. They did everything in their power to ensure that I had a great experience. I highly recommend this Enterprise location!

Pros: DJ - one of the agent there was able to help us resolved a returning of the car issue-
Cons: We got unlucky with the agent that helped us. Told her we'd be returning by 8 pm. She said ok but never informed us that the office closes at 5 pm and there's a sign that said no after hour drop off. Luckily for us another employee name DJ happened to be there and helped us. All is good now but the original agent seemed like she wasn't all there during the rental process.
Cons: Lack of power on the vehicle, but that certainly isn't Thrifty's fault.

Sales staff offered fraudulent info to try to sell
Pros: Cars were ok. Return service at Phoenix was okay.
Cons: The sales representative at Las Vegas airport essentially told me false information to hard sell insurance. She told me that Nevada does not accept credit card's damage waiver coverage, unlike other states. I thought this was weird and asked her to confirm - she rudely said, yes you can see it right there on the info sheet (on that sheet it says "Your credit card insurance MAY not cover...". She has told customers before and after me that Nevada was exceptional in requiring special insurance.
I called the credit card company and confirmed what she said wasn't true. I then asked to talk to her supervisor, and she just asked me to wait without calling him. I waited for 15 minutes and made a fuss, and finally her colleagues called the supervisor who came in 5 minutes.

Cons: Well, since Thrifty had no cars and had an "I don't care" attitude, the entire experience was bad. I was not the only one...they didn't have a car for anyone with a reservation or not. They suggested I take a cab to my hotel and then come back the next day. My Hotel was 3 hours away so not possible. I ended up having to go to Budget and pay 3 times the amount. Cons: Beware of hidden fees, such as to add another driver. Really? The rep kept trying to pressure us to upgrade the rental for an extra $30/day! Had to reiterate my firm "No." several times. Also the car smelled horrible! Smelled like someone lived in there for a week. They didn't even try to clean the car or cover the smell. Thank God we only rented the car for a few hours for one day. Think I will sick with Enterprise for all future rentals. Pay the extra money & stay far away from Advantage.

Surprised by upgrade
Pros: Clerk upgraded me from Economy to a Toyota Camry????
Cons: The car was dirty when i picked it up. Looked like it had been through a mud bath.
When picking up cars in Las Vegas expect them to smell of smoke because of the casinos. Wish the cleaners could use a cloaking product to get rid of the smoke smell. Febreeze please.

Pros: Price was very affordable and there was minimal time processing. Attendant up front was very personable and pleasant.
Cons: Car was not very clean up upon pick up. They did not give us a choice of car...just pre-assigned us one. Also, added additional driver, but was not advised of the hefty charge per day. That's on me, but it would be nice as a courtesy to advise customer at the time of contract agreement.

Pros: The experience of renting the car was good. I didn't have any issues throughout my 2 day rental.
Cons: When I was picking up the car, the lady on the counter had a bad attitude. First of all, she was talking as if she was whispering so I had to ask to repeat everything. Then, she was rolling her eyes every time I asked her to repeat.

The hard sale and lies about insurance!!
Cons: Everytime I use this company, they lie and give you the hard sell for insurance. It is to the point where I will use another company even if it is more expensive!!!!

Price not as advertised.
Pros: It was a car so I guess it wasn't all bad. Can't think of anything nice to fill up 50 characters.
Cons: The price was not as advertised and just ridiculous. I pre-payed for the cost of the rental, 125 bucks. Then after deducting 125 from one card I get charged the full price of the rental, taxes and insurance on another card, bringing the total to almost $600. The total cost in my receipt was $367 for a car I already paid 125 for weeks ago. How you go from 125 to rent a car to adding an extra 250 in taxes, and fees?!?

Pros: Helpful and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable cars.
Cons: Suggested insurance without telling it was optional. Also suggested an upgrade but did not offer all options. I believe there was a cheaper option available.

Advantage in Vegas.. Might want to think twice
Pros: Clean rental, good price. Low mileage rental.
Cons: Pushy sales people at the counter, trying to con you into buying insurance you probably already have.
Didn't tell me Road side assistance was optional, so when battery died, had to pay out of pocket to get a jump. Wont do business with them again.

VERY Poor service
Cons: I was given a car at night which had major body damage and I had to be the one to note this on their "walk around the car" form. I was exhausted from a late night flight and had I not looked at the car and noted this, they may very well have tried to pin a multiple thousand dollar damage claim on me. I called customer service the next day to report this and I was told someone would call back, but no one ever did. I called the following day and was placed on terminal hold. When I returned the car, the person noting the miles had a very poor attitude when I conveyed the saga....he could care less. a TERRIBLE experience and I will never use Advantage again.
Cons: The price paid for the Avis rental was more than triple the price quoted on the Kayak website. I had also paid for Rental Car Damage Protection on the Kayak website but was told by Avis that this was completely separate and they did not consider it any form of insurance for their car and so, also had to pay extra for this.

Pros: The Las Vegas city. Not so much Avis at all.
Cons: When I got to the counter the lady simply said we have no cars, should not have let you make a reservation. "How am I going to give you a car when I dont have cars to give to the people that reserved months ago". Do you really want to go through this when you arrive at a location after hours on a plane? I'd say give your hard earned money to someone else from the Get-Go.

Pros: Lines were short. Car was good.
Cons: The checkin process didn't seem to flow. Lots of back and forth passing a radio around and more back and forth discussing whether my car were actually registered. Then I had to wait another 10+ minute for them to pull my car up. Why not just have all the cars ready in the rental parking garage, there were lots of Avis parking stalls open and I had reserved in advance? Then when I returned my car they said there was information missing from my contract so they did it all again, including running my credit card again. Other agencies, I just hand in the keys and walk away!

Pros: It was just drop off, there is really nothing to it, so I guess everything went well. Appreciate the convenience and minimal effort.
Pros: Great car and great customer service! Very happy with my rental.

One Way Rental From Las Vegas to S. CA
Pros: Convenience,value. Instead of buying an expensive last minute airline ticket it was easier and much less costly to do a one way rental to S. CA.

Quick Pick Up / Aggessive Up-sell
Pros: Quick check in at the rental counter. Drove out of the car rental center within 10 minutes...
Cons: Agent was too aggressive on the up-sells. Agent was very pushy and almost insisted that I purchase the re-fuel option. Very weird.

Don't trust the sales person who would want you to
Pros: Nice car.. Clean car
Cons: While upselling the car, I requested return location to changed to LAX from Buebank. Sales person John tried doing so but his system hanged. He confirmed that I can call the customer care and get it changed for free. Upgrading to a different option was conditional based on change of return location. As I was holding the line, I trusted his words. However when I called the customer service, they refused to honor there promise made by their sales staff. I spent 40 mins over 4 phone calls and they were first in denial and later adopted accusatory tone.
Bottom line - they don't mean what they say.

Great selection and flexibility.
Pros: I made reservations online the day of my pick-up. The airport was busy and they ended up only having one midsize left that my luggage wouldn't fit in. They had me choose any standard instead (which was an upgrade). Staff at both legs of the trip were a pleasure to deal with. I'll be returning to Alamo!
Pros: The only good thing was the price, but I guess we got what we paid for.
Cons: Worst car rental company I have ever dealt with and I have dealt with a lot. The pick up van was timely, but when we got to the rental office, there were only two rental terminals and we had to wait almost two hours to rent the car. The car was vacuumed but the interior was not "clean". Would not recommend them to any one.

Fast and Friendly Service
Pros: After a long flight, the entire staff was friendly and cordial. We were taken care of quickly and the entire process was very fast. The best rental car experience was the best I ever had.
Remember to call for your pick-up at the shuttle center. I forgot about this when we first got to the shuttle center, but didn't wait long after we called.

Pros: Nothing, this was misleading on your behalf
Cons: First of all, Economy Rental Car is the name under which Verve Rental Car company operates. We were not aware of this due to the lack of transparency from Kayak.com, thus limiting our ability to look at reviews. Verve rental car called my wife tacky, hung up on us, never answered our calls, and operated what appeared to be an illegal rental company.

Cons: Had to take two shuttles to get there! Only two vehicles were available and they both had check tire pressure lights on, and one also said oil is low! I don't want a rental car that is not regularly serviced, especially since I was driving to the Grand Canyon! Yuck. It was not clear on Kayak that this company is not in the main rental car facility.

Cons: It took an extremely long time to drop off and pick up the car. The car also did not have license plates and did not drive very well. I did not feel very safe in the vehicle during my trip.

Car given away!
Cons: I call them days ahead with a pick up time change which was 2 hours later. When I got there I was told they gave it away because I didn't show up, they had not car to give me, and there was no time change made. I was traveling with my Mom in a wheelchair and can't walk. It was extremely wrong of them not to make the time change when I called and they told me no problem. I will never book them again and I'm sharing this with everyone.

Pros: Some confusion with rental program but company stood behind all representations. Had a bad rim on one tire which caused a continual leak. Had it repaired on the road after consulting with the rental company and they covered the expense, no problem.

Not what I expected
Cons: When I reserved the car, I didn't know that it involved two shuttles instead of one, adding to the time coming and going.
The car was dirty inside, stuff left from previous renter. When I first got in, it was blaring rap music at full volume, I had to get out of the car it was so loud.
They are so unorganized, I got a call six hours after I returned it, asking when I was going to return it, they thought it was still in my hands.
I'm not going back.
Cons: I told the guy I wanted the refuel option because it was cheaper. It never cost more that $30 to fill up. When I returned the car, the guy said it would be $8/gal to fill up. I told him I got the fuel option. He asked for my reciept. I had already taken everything out I did not have it handy. So he says he eill do me a favor and charge me $30 and it was already on half of a tank. I had already dropped my family off and had to board a flight, I didn't have time to argue. You guys probably don't care, it's just a small scheme to get a couple extra bucks or he probably pocketed my little $30 bucks. You do that 4 or 5 times a night. If you work 5 nights a week that's a good $600 undocumented in his pocket. Either way, the car was acceptable, the customer service at the desk was too.

easy cheap and fast with minor complaints
Pros: I was lucky to pick up car really fast (there was no line). Heard complaints about agents giving a hard time about insurance, didn't experience that. Car was clean, brand new. Shuttle to the airport from rental center was quick and easy.
Cons: There was a price confusion at check out not in my favor. Gave me an unnecessary headache and took extra 20 minutes to work it out

Pros: The ease of pick up and drop off.
Cons: The car had numerous scratches on it and the inside of the Windows was awful! The windows had a heavy coat of film on them that had been poorly attempted to be cleaned! I ask the drop off attendant about it and he said that happens when they try to turn around the cars for rental too quickly!

Pros: I rented a car from LA to Las Vegas. The clerk in LA mistakenly specified that the car was to return to LA. Fortunately, the guy in Las Vegas didn't give us any trouble over it. I much appreciated that.

Chance of getting a sub-standard car
Pros: - price was great, there were no problems with overcharging, etc.
Cons: car i was given was sub-standard, with many scratches on bumpers, trunk wasn't closing right, and I felt vibration on the highway. When I reported it to the representative, they dismissively said "we'll look at it later during our regular inspection" Well, the "inspection" clearly didn't work so well before my rental.

Pros: Had cruise control
Cons: I was supposed to get Ford Falcon or euivalent. They insisted that the Versa was equivalent. Each door had to be locked and unlocked individually and the windows were hand cranked.

No credit card disclosure
Pros: Rep was kind and professional.
Cons: Due to financial reasons we cannot have a credit card. After we reserved online we tried to pick up the car and couldnot because we only had a debit card.

Never even got there
Cons: We had to reschedule due to our flight being cancelled because of the storm that smothered the Northeast. Neither the customer service rep nor 3 different managers were able to honor our original rate, and could only offer a rate double what we had been quoted. Went with AVIS and we weren't disappointed.
