Pros:

I felt like I was being discriminated. Since I got there I asked the employee if he had any car is available. The employer response we are all sold out. Then I checked on the garage there was a couple of them. I asked him if he could let me rent one of them and he’s like yeah and he gave me a very high price! He knew we wasn’t going to say no to that price! 250$ a day!!!! Then i book online and it was 110$ !!! I couldn’t believe him!

Fire him! Bad service!

Overall good. However, we found the previous renter’s cell phone in the Qi console charger the day after we picked up the car (which was Sept. 8). This discovery required us making a special trip back to the Enterprise rental counter (at Las Vegas) on Sept. 9 where we waited in line and turned in the phone (that belonged to a “Chris”) before we could leave town and start our trip. We first called Enterprise and explained what happened but we received no help or guidance. Also we found an empty Red Bull aluminum can under the front passenger seat and an old credit card receipt under the driver’s seat. We hope that Enterprise was able to get the cell phone back to Chris (who we were able to talk to and explain to him that we were turning in his phone to the LV customer service desk).

Overall, it was fine. My only complaint was that I paid for them to fill up the tank upon return. I was led to believe they would fill to the point of fullness and only charge me for that. We got so close to empty that I went ahead and filled up to that point, and then got charged for it anyway. The tank was only HALF full when we picked up the car. So, by the end of the day we were hovering on fumes. That's why I went ahead and filled it back up to half, thinking that I wouldn't then have to pay any gas fees. I think it's ridiculous to be given a car with a tank that is only half full, and then be told that I should return the car with an empty tank and then they would charge me to fill it back up to the half way mark. Isn't that taking quite a chance, to simply HOPE that you don't run out of gas on the interstate one mile away from the rental? Every rental should always have a mostly full tank - or else you should only be charged for the actual gas they have to pump in at the end of your trip. It's insane that I should just hope and pray I don't run out of gas in order to avoid paying for gas that is literally already in the car when I return it.

I would recommend a much clearer description of where the car is picked up and dropped off. In Vegas the rental car desk and vehicles were parked at the airport which is what I thought. However, Sixt is NOT on site in Salt Lake. That was a big issue and was not clear when I booked. I might have chose a different rental company if I’d known this. Also, since we were renting for 6 weeks this added extra taxes and a two invoice system that was not invoiced properly. Basically, the car was great but the admin side was not. Trying to speak to someone live on the phone to correct the incorrect invoicing was frustrating and took hours. There was an employee in Salt Lake I wanted to mention (The Austin) who went out of his way to help us. He explained the two invoice system, apologized for the confusion since we had driven all the way to the airport to be told it was offsite. He then drove us to our airport hotel since we didn’t have a way to get there. We dropped off the car the day before our flight and were planning to use the hotel shuttle to get us back/forth to the hotel. The Sixt drop off is down the interstate from the airport so it was an issue.

Pickup was great, drop-off went well too.. But the next day they emailed me and tried to make me take responsibility for a scratch that wasn't there at drop-off. I stayed for the entire checkout and confirmed with the employee that everything was in great condition and there was no damage. Sixt site was very deceptive. Won't use again.

I dropped off car filled with gas in great condition. Spoke to attendant to drop off keys and she said you are good to go. Attendant said she will email final statement and refund the deposit which I never received.

The first electric vehicle I was given was Not charged. The Avis staff quickly exchanged my vehicle, to their credit. However, using an electric vehicle for my travel was awful and delayed my trip, because I was forced to wait for the vehicle(several times) to Charge. Along with the vehicle being dirty and (seemingly) unkempt, I resolve to never use electric vehicles and I'm considering never trusting Avis for my rental needs again. Thank you.

It was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful, the car exceeded my expectations, and the pick-up/drop-off was a breeze. Maybe the only thing that could be improved a little is the drop off instructions: not knowing Las Vegas well, it was a bit difficult to find the correct road and parking garage to return the car.

I paid for a mid-size SUV, they told me I was getting a mid-size SUV, and in the garage they had a Toyota Corolla Cross waiting which is a small or extra small SUV depending on where you look. It was definitely smaller than what I reserved and thought I paid for, but I did not have the time to go argue the point. It was clean, but I was rented less than what I reserved. I made it work though.

Unknown that Ace was considered an “offsite” rental. Shuttle service was convenient but it was a two shuttle service from the hotel we stayed at. Long wait to pickup, lots of people at desks just a detriment to customers to your success. Check out agent very professional and helpful. Car checkout and checkin staff were cheerful and pleasant.

When I was at the counter picking up my rental the kid giving me my keys said he just washed the inside and the outside of the vehicle at it was ready to go The jeep was filthy and smelled inside I will never use Advantage Rental again and I will make sure to tell everyone I know not to use them as well

I was not not advised at time of booking that 3rd party liability insurance would not be acceptable and purchasing their coverage would be required. To me that is clearly a tactic to advertise a low price to rope a customer in, only to surprise them at pick up time with an additional charge when it’s too late to choose another company. When I asked the desk agent how I would have known this charge would be required I was told “it’s in the fine print”. Not a great response. I kept the booking because I needed the car and didn’t have time to go look for another option. And to be fair, even with the bump in cost it was still a competitive price compared to other agencies. The car was older and dirty. The interior was reasonably clean but the exterior was covered in dirt and dust. But it drove ok so it fulfilled the most basic of reasons I got the car, but it was the bare minimum so I got what I paid for, I suppose. I will not likely use them again unless I am desperate.

The price doubled when I picked it up. From $213 to $473. Due to taxes, Concession fees, Registration recovery fees. Other fees not listed. Why lie? Just say exactly how much it is. Why would I use Kayak again if you don't tell the truth? The car was fine, Great in fact. Doesn't change the experience of lying when making a reservation. Strange practice.

Dollar cancelled 2 of my 3 reservations so when I went to pick up my vehicles they only had 1 available. The others we had to select were almost $1000 more to replace the lost reservations. The desk attendant was very unhelpful and said it was my issue that I’d cancelled the reservations. Upon calling Dollar car, they reactivated the reservations but our correct vehicles were still not there for the contract price

Pros:

The Dollar location is closed. You have to go to the Budget location, but there are no signs or emails directing you to the locations. The location is only open till 1pm. We reserved a medium SUV and we’re given a small one. We had to go to the airport to exchange. And the car smelled of pot so badly we had to leave the windows open to air it out some.

Cons:

The whole experience was terrible overall.

There were soo many hoops to jump through as an international renter which were never detailed upon booking. I did not have a US telephone number which meant that they couldn’t send me a verification text message. They insisted I walk to a gas station and buy a SIM card which is totally unacceptable. I ended up buying an eSIM with a digital US phone number only to then be told it won’t work. I cancelled my booking there and then but am still yet to receive my refund a week later.

Great staff and service. Car smelled like wet dog. We stopped at an auto parts store and purchased some air sanitizer to help get rid of the smell. My friends were getting nauseous because of it. $500 deposit on credit card required. Only allowed to go to specific states. Was not aware of either of these when making booking. Facility was dirty and run down. Chipped, dirty tile, sloppy paint job. Customer service was poor. Employee was difficult to understand because he was speaking so quickly. Had to ask him to repeat himself 3-4 times during the basic conversation. I selected “rental agency’s choice” for my car. They told me I would be in a minivan then tried to upsell me to a Nissan versa. I declined. They gave me the keys and sent me outside without telling me where the car was. Told me to hit the lock button and find it myself. Went looking for my mini van. There wasn’t one in the parking lot. Came back inside and the employee pointed towards the corner of the lot where I saw a versa. At this point I realized they’d given me a versa and never had a mini van available. It had only been offered in an attempt to upsell. The car had scrapes on the bumper. It smelled like cigarette smoke and the windshield was visibility dirty. They also sent an extremely confusing series of charges and invoices after I returned the rental. Ended up having to pay $90 for gas. It also appeared I’d been charged $400 but they were actually returning the deposit. Got two separate charges for the gas so maybe they charged me twice. I tried calling them multiple times but their automated line say to email. I emailed this morning and haven’t heard back yet. I will not be renting from this agency again. They were the cheapest but everything about it felt very sketchy and unprofessional. I’ll pay 20% more to avoid dealing with this company again. I was especially nervous about renting a car that came with scratches and a cigarette smoke smell because I didn’t want to be charged for the prior renter’s infraction. The bigger agencies would never send a car out like that.

Late flight got in at 1am. Had to wait in line for over an hour to check in for the rental car. When we finally got checked in, we had another 30 minute wait while the car was cleaned

Our plane was delayed and by the time we arrived at the car rental place it was closed. We called the number and it was closed too. We had to call an Uber to get a ride to our hotel.

Customer service was ok even though she would continually stop to be on her cell phone. The quality of the van was horrible. It was dirty inside and out. Windshield had streaks and a film on the inside that we couldn't see through at times in certain light. Sooooo DIRTY!!! And the gas tank was empty. We told customer service and they said there was a gas station just up the street and that we should be ok. They didn't even come out to verify. Which means they knew the condition of the Van. We had to immediately stop, fill up the tank and clean the van windows and seats and run it through the car wash. The van also smelled of marijuana. DISGUSTING! We have never had this kind of experience with any of our rentals with other companies.

Pick up was slow because they only had one employee working but she worked hard to get the job done quickly, was professional and the process was smooth. Car was ready and cooled off waiting for us - since it was 111 out that was really appreciated! Drop off after hours was easy and we simply walked across the street to catch the free shuttle to the airport terminal. Great value for the money - I rented a full size suv for the price of the compact with the competitors. I’d rent from them again!
