There was nothing over and above what was reasonably expected of such a transaction.I requested to extend the rental period, however, the customer "service" person stated the rate for the days during the extension was twice the rate I had for the initial rental. He could do absolutely zero, nothing, utterly not empowered as a frontline customer facing representative to even attempt to make it feasible for me let alone achieve "customer delight." When ending the call the representative asked if he could do anything else for me, I responded, "No, your competitor is going to." The representative had no response other than to read the script on his screen and say, "Thank you, have a nice day." A bot has more decision making power and understanding. I went to an Alamo competitor, rented for an extended period of time and started a corporate account with that competitor. And that's how easy it is to loose the lifetime value of a customer. You can do better.

Complete mess. Told us they had concerns about the rental. Drove 45 minutes to find out we couldn't rent the vans. If you had concerns that would result in it not being rentable -- why wouldn't you call?

While I didn’t actually rent a car through Enterprise, they were kind enough to give me a call on Thursday (before my Saturday reservation) to verify pick and to remind me they closed at 1 pm. That was a little confusing as my plane did not arrive until 12:50 and if it was delayed at all they would be closed before I got there. Even though I requested a car for the airport my reservation was changed to a downtown location. That would not work out at all. Had to reserve another car with a different company. Thank goodness I did not pay in advance.

Enterprise said they never received all of my my information just my name and the morning of my appointment I called them to say I was on my way only to find out they didn’t have the car I reserved and was sold out completely.

They cancelled my reservation an hour before I was supposed to pick up and then had no cars available anywhere in my area, so told me I was on my own. Customer service and the pick-up location kept sending me back and forth, blaming each other. I ended up stranded for the entire weekend. It was awful.

The staff was very good- they were well organized and working hard. There were lots of customers for limited staff. They were efficient and did their jobs well - there was no time for niceties other than polite service. They were inconsistent in enforcing the rule about "only the renter may come in the building". As a result my wife stood in the cold and watched other couples inside who elected not to comply with the stated rules. The car I got was adequate and functioned fine but was quite expensive (modest car- pretty high rate 140/2 days- tiny Hyundai) so it was adequate but not outstanding value. Return process was highly effective with good speed and no glitches. Again-staff is excellent. Overall- competent but modest value and inconsistent adherence to rules.Standardize adherence to rules. More staff on busy days. More product selection.

no, they were not helpful and they were misleading. Apparently they required an airline confirmation as we were paying with a debit card. 3 trips walking to the rental building in the rain the story changed slightly each time as far as what was need. never got the car and will certainly let all know that the Enterprise holding rental companies are incompetant.FIre the entire staff at the Philadelphia airport and hire a staff of concerned workers who work hard to keep their job and seek improvement, not the type that is hired and they feel entitled.

The staff were decent. they were friendly and somewhat understanding. The car I received was not the car reserved. and the car received had a horrible odor that the staff tried to convince me of cleaning products. IT WAS NOT!!!! and it smelled so bad the whole trip i had to personally buy air fresheners. Literally!!!! and i know some of my stuff smelled like the car after a few hours. NO GOOD!!!!!!!!!I asked for a better smelling car before i took it off the lot and they convinced me that the smell would go away. No the smell didnt. Car ran smooth.... also it woulda been nice to have some gas in the car before leaving the lot too.

Drop off excellent and efficient. Shuttle service was excellent.Pickup was slightly slower than expected. 3 companies sharing one rental area delayed the process. Many clients were waiting in line.

I set up my pick up time for 10am. I had issues with my hotel I had to deal with so at 1245p I mapped the location and it said closing at 1p. I had no idea. Why didn’t someone call me at noon and say hey we see you have a rental your supposed to pick up today and we will be closing at 1p. I would have waited to deal with the hotel issue. I tried to call them three times and no one answered. Finally fourth time they answered and put me on hold. When they finally picked up the call it was 1255p. I explained what happened and they said if you get here by 1p we can help you. I told them it was a 10 min walk and could they please wait or come pick me up. They said again if you get here by 1p we can help you. I told them that was impossible and they laughed and said then we can’t help you. I had to go to another location which was another disaster and I had to pay double the price. Horrible customer service.

I’ve been using Avis almost exclusively for many years. I am a preferred customer and this was the worst experience I have ever had. The car was dirty inside. Windows were filthy. Previous user had smoked and the smell was awful. Tried to disguise it with perfume which made it worse Starburst on windshield which was not noticed until I exited the facility. Along with low tire pressure on front passenger side and warning lights came on. The entire bottom canopy was loose and the front underside was damaged. Again not noticed since car was picked up at night. Car was immediately taken out of service when brought back to Avis.

I had the best experience. I made a reservation on Kayak and in about 5 minutes I was on my way to my car. The person who waited on me walked me to the car and checked the mileage and I was on my way.

AVIS gave us a car with a nail in the tire. I filled the tire twice before I realized it. We called AVIS from our rental house 150 miles from home - it takes at least 30-40 minutes to get roadside assistance on the phone, BTW - and they couldn't have been less helpful. First they told us to go get the tire replaced ourselves. Then they came and towed the car, telling us they'd get us a new car. They left us stranded. After a couple hours we followed up, and found they had simply never done anything to help us get a new car. Finally, they tell us they're sending us an Uber and taking us... 50 miles away to LaGuardia airport to get a new car. We had to leave for home the next morning, so I didn't have time to argue. After getting to the airport, they had no idea who I was. After several calls, they agreed to give me a new car - after they confirmed they had the old one in their posession. The only number they had to call was the roadside assistance number we had called. So I sat in the LaGuardia AVIS for 45 minutes while *AVIS WAS ON HOLD WITH AVIS.* The replacement car was dirty. The entire experience, top to bottom, was the single most abysmal experience I've had with a consumer-facing business in my life. Pun intended - steer *far* away from AVIS, they will literally leave you stranded.

Wow - What a phenomenal experience with Sixt!! Awesome. My requested car was not available, a Mercedes, so I was upgraded to a BMV SUV. No questions, No hassle. Everyone was friendly, the staff displayed the desire to be working there, smiles on everyone including the security guard. Easy shuttle from the Philly airport and easy return. No shuttle ever showed up waited 3 hours in the freezing cold.. trying to contact them on their 24 hour website that was build by an amateur. I couldn’t get anywhere. I called every number they all were completely automated and just told me to use the crap web site. Didn’t help that it’s was freezing.. Also you need to send an email to cancel to an address that doesn’t exist. Had to call visa to cancel the charge on my card. I will never attempt to use them again if they even exist.. could just be a scam I waited 3 hours at Philadelphia airport for a shuttle before going to a different company

The service in Philadelphia was pretty slow, and the drop off in Battery Park NYC was a bit confusing. For the return, the designated after-hours parking was full and overflow wasn't clearly designated. There was also not a lot of clarity regarding the paperwork to be returned with the keys in the drop off slot (I didn't know anything should be dropped until I saw a sign because no one told me in advance this would matter).

They didn’t have a car when we arrived and had to wait until the next morning to get one. And then they charged us $125 for cleaning two weeks after we returned the car - no mention of the car being filthy when we returned it, no email notification, just a charge that randomly showed up on the credit card. They claimed there was sand in the car but there’s no way that was true since we hadn’t been near any place with sand.

I think this was a pass around car licensed in Texas, with about 30,000 miles. Tires were very loud, and some weird vibrations at times causing some things to rattle. I am not that familiar with Mustang's so don't know if these are normal for this car or it has some tire issues. I still drove it for about 700 miles.

The customer service was absolutely horrible! I booked the rental in my name. The girl at the desk said my credit card would not swipe. We could not put it in the chip reader because it “ was not turned on.” My husband could not use his credit card because it was booked in my name. We were advised to make a new reservation with budget by the girl behind the desk. We have since been double charged even though that night I called Price line and they assured me this would not happen. I just received an email from price line basically saying they could not help me. Never never again will I deal with Budget rental car, price line, or any other third party rental!!!! This just added more stress to an already stressful weekend as we traveled to PA for my mother-in-laws funeral!

They were out of cars when I arrived. Only one staff member, David, was helpful. The rest didn’t seem to care and told me to come back in the morning. They couldn’t get a car for me from Hertz because the gate closed right after we arrived in the shuttle.

There was about 15 people in line to pick up and it took an hour and 20 minutes to get through the line with four people working. Also there was a guy working in the Members Only area that never bothered to take a single person to help. Then they try to put me in a Toyota and Call it a luxury car off. But I paid another upgrade to get an Infiniti with almost 50,000 miles. Finally I asked for a Toyota tundra truck that looked slightly newer and that was fine. The guy told me when I ask by the way it was so long in the cars were so rough, that’s what you get when you go to dollar or thrifty. By the way it wasn’t cheaper it just “looked”like they had the car I wanted Totally disappointed PS it takes approx 20 min for the van to arrive and pick you up. Saw the hertz and others 3 times in the same wait time

I hurt my foot a few days before travel so my husband was going to have to drive instead of me and they charged us an additional $13.50 per day because of that. Very poor customer service. Like I was not already going through enough having a broken foot but then charging me additional money for that is ridiculous

Car and price were fine. Pickup and delivery to terminal in PHL was very slow compared to others. I was unable to fill with gas. I drove a total of 151 miles and was charged $63.00 for gas. $9.99 x 16.6 gallon tank. Actual should have been $3.75 x 6 gallons +$22.50. Because of those items I will not rent from Dollar at PHL again. I will pay more from a different company.

The dropoff system is terrible. Why is there not an immediate confirmation of the return? My return was to a parking garage, not an airport office. But why is the system not good in this location? It's days later, and I'm still trying to get the rental closed.

Their shuttle never showed up. I was on the last plane arriving in Philadelphia and after 40 minutes outside all the competitors, with multiple shuttles (Alamo, Avis, Hertz, Enterprise, and Budget) we’re all done and gone. The only number to call had no live operator. I was pretty much all alone at 11pm on the street. I took an Uber. I cancelled and got a rep texting and he was a complete ass. I just ubered my whole trip.

The problem wasn't with the pickup in Philadelphia, which was fine, but with drop-off in Washington DC. No employee showed up for work in the morning when I was supposed to drop the car off (this is the 7th St NW location). After waiting more than an hour and a half someone finally showed up, but said the office was closed despite Thrifty continuing to book reservations from and to this location. She reluctantly took the car, but this is incredibly poor service.

The quote I signed up for was incredible. After getting a second charge, I called Thrifty. Supposedly, they are trying to say there was $98 in taxes, just kept saying $55 was our taxes, but couldn't tell me what that meant, and when I requested an email copy of the bill, never sent it. Phuk Thrifty. On a positive note, the front desk guy for Thrifty in Philly was AWESOME. So, just be aware my issue was with undisclosed "taxes" that I have no idea what was even for. (They explained the logical $31 for sales tax).

Did not get the car I requested- small compact, was given an SUV so very poor gas mileage The rear lift door would not open! Associate there told me they had no other car Car was clean on inside but very dirty outside Car only had 7/8 showing on gas gage and when I questioned it, was told it was full! I had to air up two tires the next morning and filled the tank. Gage went “ past” full when I did and it went past full the other times that I filled it!!! I drove a Ford Focus for years got 38 mpg and this SUV got around 25 mpg I feel I spent an extra $60 on gas and the luggage in and out of the back seat was an issue in the rain.

I never was able to rent a car. I made a same day reservation and when I arrived there were no cars to rent. The employee said “wait, we may have some.” There were about 5 people in front of me also waiting for a car. After waiting an hour, I left with no car.

Booked a rental car for Sunday at Philly airport a week in advance because they were the only agents open. Took a bus to the airport and was told if I didn't have a plane ticket for that day. I couldn't rent. Long story short I was left stranded at the Philly airport. F you hertz. You will never get my business again. I would like to say that my experience with Hertz was good. I would like to express that the Agent (Kim), who waited on me, she was very caring, professional and warming. The only thing I would like to have been better is to leave a operable pen inside the vehicle being rented to fill out the inspection form. I did not have one however, I took pictures and a video of the video before I left. Thank you for your services.

Pros, the manager was efficient and professional ,in and out, the car was ok and good on gas. The original price was good, and the pickup place was local. Cons Pay less has a range stipulation buried in its policies two pages back that no one reads, the policy ended up costing me more money for the rental because I left the tri state area,it was discovered last minute on a paid for rental, or I would have gone elsewhere,the price was the same at other rental places. I think this is a deceptive and pretty lame not to be up front. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Our pick-up time was scheduled for 6:00 PM while our plane didn't land until 7:30 PM. The building was closed by the time we arrived, and we didn't have a car for that first day yet paid full price.

Office was closed at time of arrival, and scheduled time for reservation - pick up of vehicle. How this was allowed via a search for pickup times is very faulty. Had to spend extra money on another vehicle, and im still waiting for a refund.

Payelss is only open until 6 PM at Philadephia Airport. They use Jetstream Parking for afterhours dropoff. I dropped the car off on Thursday evening at the droo off lot emailed them where the car was and still have not received my receipt for the car rental. Very disappointed with the service in this regard. Also car was not particluarly clean as the back seat had soiled cloth.

My flight landed at 10pm & the car rental had closed at 6pm so I was unable to get a car!! This information should have been clearly stated & highlighted.

Booked a 6pm pick up at PHL. Arrived on time to no shuttle service. Called the counter and it turns out they close at 6pm on a weekday(!!!!). Was told after a 45 minute hold with customer service that Avis would have my reservation. Got to Avis and was told by the agent and the supervisor that I was the 7th person this week with this issue and that they don’t have access to Payless’ systems and can’t look up my reservation. Wound up paying for another rental with Avis just to get out of there. Won’t be using them ever again

Our check-in process at the facility was very smooth. The car was perfect for our needs and a very good price. The only problem was the shuttle from the airport to the rental car facility took a long time. We watched the shuttles for the other rental car places pass several times before ours arrived.

Rental Truck Bed Too SmallThe purpose of the rental was to haul a new mattress. It would not fit in the tiny bed. The next size up in pick up truck would have doubled the price. The person working the counter was less than enthusiastic.

My flight to PHL was late Fri evening and 30th Street Station National office was closed. However, the agent who I called to re-book for the next morning was outstanding, She looked up my old preferred customer (or whatever) number and got me a better deal.Then the next morning at the desk I asked about upgrading to a larger vehicle and the agent gave it me at no increase in cost. Reasons to come back to National.Car hadn't been washed.

Easy transaction and friendly staffWe had multiple travel delays due to flying standby, but even after our late arrival, we had a car ready for us and we're helped promptly when we arrived.30th street station can be difficult to navigate, but patience and close attention to signage helps.

Good rentalEasy pick up (except we couldn't figure out how to get in the facility at first since the entrance had a sign saying "car return" when we wanted to pick up a car). The people at the pick up at PHL were very polite, helpful, and friendly.

National Car Rental is an AMAZING company to work with!From the first click on-line, to being greeted at the reception desk to sign-in at the National counter to pick up the rental car....just incredible. Everyone on the National team was top notch in their attention to details, and their customer service: stellar, truly. To the attendant who finalized our transaction paperwork, to the team member who escorted us to our rental car...simply amazing. We were struck by National's competence and we vowed to never use any other service except the best: National. A model company that all others should be measured by...exemplary in every aspect.

The gal at check in was very nice.Car smelled like cigarettes. A caution air tire pressure light was on at all times, but there was a little not that said to ignore the light. This was a little worrisome.

pricing was one thing. a little seedy. car was not clean inside or out. the rental signing process a little outdated and in an uncomfortable setting. In the end, the pricing was not that much cheaper than the nationals/brand names. The policy about the rental period is strict. severe penalty for dropping off after 24 hour period...so ridiculous that I uber'ed to a couple places after I returned the car. My flight came in early and I picked up an hour earlier than anticipated but was leaving at my expected time 26 hours later. 2 extra hours was double the cost.

Barely worth the slightly older carSlightly cheaper priceHad to call to find out that we wanted the Colonial Airport Parking shuttle after we waited for a while hoping for a Rent-A-Wreck shuttle. Car smelled like cigarette smoke and windows were a bit foggy on the inside. The office wasn't marked The guys at the drop off place weren't particularly helpful with my questions.

Do NOT use this companyNothing really!The dispatcher were rude! The van was in need of maintenance - exampke, wipers were old and cracked. It was a big hassle to get into the lot and find the car. The lot attendant was very rude! As my wife concluded, they have ZERO customer service.

Due to trouble with the mechanics of the car Rent a Wreck is refunding a day's charge. This should be back in account within 3 days, they say.The muffler came semidetached and it sounded like a street rod. I'm nor sure if this was a safety hazard or not but it wasn't good.

Will not rent from them againI got a rental car on a day when there were almost zero options for rental cars at the airport.Waited 2 hours to get the reserved car, car exterior was damaged and severely needed washing, and finding the place was tough. It was the worst car rental experience I have had in 20 years.

Ridiculous CompanyNothing! We never got a car!They don’t pick up where the other rental car companies pick up for a shuttle. But they also never told us this. So we’re waiting in the freezing cold waiting for a shuttle with our infant son for a while until I finally call customer service. They tell me i need to send a text message to a sketchy number to pick us up somewhere else in the airport! Huh?! So we do that and they never come! Seriously! Never come! We went to Alamo instead that night and they were wonderful. Do not trust this company. They are a scam!!!

We made reservation on 11/10. Landed at Philly at 5:30pm. Bad experience from first unable to find shuttle location. Waste almost 45mins to get to ez rental car office. Then was told no car available. (There are 3 customers there). Told us can give us ride to other car rental office. But the driver just dropped us back to the airport again. By the time we got car at other car rental lamo it was close to 8pm. Waste More than 2 hours to get reserved car from ez car rental at other car rental almo. What a joke. I could drive from Boston to Philly for same time and save $600 and headache. I will never rent a car from EZ.

My 1st time using Kayak and will be my last. I gave Kayak a chance and it was a mistake. I needed a rent car in Philadelphia and i booked through Kayak. My travel plans got delayed which caused me to arrive in Philly after 8 p.m. I found out that the EZ rental facility closed at 8pm and i wouldn't be there until 10pm. 8pm is not very late and it completely screwed up my rental plans. Because EZ rental wouldn't allow me to get my car after 8pm i attemped to cancel the kayak reservation and they absolutely would not refund my money despite my unfortunate circumstances. So now I have to pay over $200 for a rental i didn't even use. The worst part is i STILL had to pay to get another car rental elsewhere on top of my Kayak rental. I gave Kayak a chance and I am very disappointed that i did. I wouldn't have any bad feelings if kayak would just refund my money for a rental that i wasn't able to use. When i found out my travel plans were going to be delayed I tried to cancel my rental before it started and still kayak wouldnt work with me. I would understand more if i missed the rental completely but i let them know before i was scheduled to even begin my rental.

The car worked.We lost my husbands sister and had to get to De for a funeral, When we arrived there was a line to pick up car. Only one person to take care of the customer. We got taken care of bye a lady. she was doing the best she could being the only one there. we went to the car , looked it over and had no idea how to start the car, we do not have a car that you dont need a key to start. So we had no idea how to start it. we looked it over the car was dirty and I went in to ask for help. As I said she was alone. I asked her if there was anyone to help us she said no just her she would be out in a few minutes. She came out explined you must put your foot on brake to start the car. My husband thought the car ran rough . itdid not feel right we found out that a front tire and a rear tire had only 12 lbs of air in them we put air in them and it was much better. the drop off was bad also . we had a 6 am flight back home she had explained to us we go to a little building and there will be someone to check us back in after hours. when we arrived at 4 am there was no one there so we had to take a ticket to get in and park the car. there as a shuttle coming through at the time so we got on and told him what happened , we ended up giving the keys to him. he assured us he would take care of it. I called later that afternoon and explained what happened and they kinda got nasty about us giving the keys and leaving the car in the wrong spot. she said she would check with the driver. he had returned the key. I received an email all was ell . and it could take up to 21 days to get my deposit back. I will never use this company again. they were ok in the emergency but never again.
