Cons: The people at front desk were rude form beginnging tell all the customers that a van will be picking them up and when ever one of us called to ask where it was they said oh you must of just missed it. Then proceed to tell me that they charge extra for Amex, when I booked it with Amex. Then for insurance they show me some guys lettter that he brought from his insurance that states my Amex covers insurance . Dropped off car with less gas ( my mistake), I asked to refill it I was verybrudeky told no and then told to get off property because he didn't like the tone I used when I asked. Car was inspected before they threatened me. Then get an email that a tire wall was ripped, with a pic of a tire . Charged me an extra 270 pounds. This whole experience is ridiculous and all charges has been stopped by my credit card.

Book through a UK site
Pros: The pick up, all arrangements and drop off back to the airport were all very fast and efficient. Arthritis makes walking painful but there is actually less walking involved than with an on-site rental service, and it is easy to find again when dropping off.
Cons: I had no idea I would need to pay another £50 for collision damage waiver (or, put full value of car on the credit card!) because it had been booked through kayak, a US based company. Apparently the CDW is included in the price with UK companies only (as it was when I used the rental company 2 months ago) - so beware, or rent direct from easirent. I would use the company again, but not, obviously, with the American company. This should be much more prominent in any website.

Cons: Wouldn't accept the insurance that comes with American Express cards. Didn't have the car that I reserved. I went back to the airport and rented from Enterprise. The person in front of me in line also left without picking up his car. I will never consider Easirent again.

Cons: Our flight was delayed and after 2 hours they gave our car away once we arrived they really up sell and twist words around. It wasn't till I asked for breakdown of charges I realized they were charging me the full price of the car they gave away along with the new charges for a lot more expensive car not happy. They new we had been traveling and exhausted and they used that to their advantage

Pros: Easirent agents were friendly and extremely helpful in explaining insurance options, helped us (Americans) get oriented to traffic patterns and customary road signage. Airport pickup was timely, pleasant, and easy to connect with. Dropoff hours are very flexible. Completely hassle-free and a good value. We would repeat this experience again in a heartbeat.

Cons: We had an issue with the price ending up going well above and beyond what we booked for online. The "insurance" wasn't covered in the online rental and was rather exorbitant. They claimed that legally we needed to have significant coverage and that our credit card insurance wouldn't be sufficient unless we paid the full value of the car upfront (which was 35,000 GBP). Obviously we were unable to do that but didn't want to pay triple the price, so we took our business elsewhere and the insurance was not nearly as expensive.

Easirent left us stranded in Scotland
Cons: Using Easirent was the worst decision we made on our Scotland trip. Upon reserving the car, we opted for the FULL COVERAGE insurance that included tire damage. We were thankful that we paid for this insurance when we ran into some sharp rocks on the side of a winding road on our way to Glasgow. The tire shop we were sent to told us that they were able to fix the tires and the wheel, but Easirent decided they wanted send the car to Aberdeen to get fixed.They seized the car from us and told us we could no longer have the car because the accident was "driver negligence". It was NOT negligence... it was an accident. And we paid to have coverage for ALL accidents. How can you claim to provide your customers with FULL COVERAGE insurance, and then when something happens say that it was "driver negligence" so you have to no longer provide your PAYING CUSTOMER with your services?
We were left stranded in a small town somewhere in Northern Scotland with no idea how to get to where we needed to go. How can a rental car company strand two young ladies in the middle of a foreign country?
The worst part of all of it was that they ended up charging me the extra cost to fill up the gas tank. It ended up costing me almost $200 for fuel through Easirent. How did they expect me to fill up the tank when they took the car away from us unwillingly? When I FINALLY got a hold of customer service (after almost 3 weeks of waiting for a response), they told me that they cannot reimburse me for that charge.
We had to spend at least $200 on extra train tickets and transportation after they left us stranded.. and now they won't even reimburse me for the fuel costs? It's unacceptable.

We had just had a terrible experience in London at Green Motion at Heathrow (AVOID) !
Explanations were clear and no hassles. The staff went out of their way to help us.
This is how a Car rental company should operate !!!
Will definitely rent from this company again !

Pros: No part of my experience was enjoyable or even just fine.
Cons: This rental company is the only one not located at GLA. It requires a pick up that does not run regularly, but requires calling the company. I ended up paying more than double what was quoted on my reservation. I felt taken advantage of, and would reccommend using other rental companies that are located within the GLA terminal and which likely have less deceptive practices.

Pros: Car Was Fine
Cons: Required their Insurance and did not accept policy that I had although it i stated no where in any document they could provide me
Took 45 minutes to wait for bus then another 90 minutes at pickup to get car
Car was flashing needed serviced (oil change I presume) for the entire time I had it
Pros: The first person I met seemed to want to be helpful (but she handed me over to another)
Cons: They didn't even have the car we booked (7 person) on site, despit having booked it weeks in advance. They gave us a 5 person car, tried to tell us it was better than the one we booked and if we wanted the 7-seater we would have to come back to the airport at night and hopefully one would be ready. Then they added extra fees for "minimum required legal insurance", saying we were quoted the wrong amount because we booked on the US site (we have French drivers licenses). Disappointing.

Misleading online estimate
Pros: Car was clean and comfortable. Glasgow airport is fairly simple to get in and out of car rental area.
Cons: Upsaling left and right - apparently prepurchasing the insurance with Kayak was insufficient. Also some how the model car we were upgraded to didn't have GPS so yet another upcharge.
The reservation was for ~$150 online, final charges were nearly $450!

Pros: Customer service person was great - we found the staff to be incredibly pleasant. The car itself was great.
Cons: The rental was MUCH more costly than what was advertised and the bill that came afterwards was very hard to understand. They press you to add insurance and then there are increased taxes and fees that you don't know about. The bill was about 25% more than we were expecting. Pretty frustrating... and expensive.

Pros: The Peugeot 308 handled well and was large enough to be comfortable for three people and luggage. We drove it around for two weeks in England and Scotland. The staff at the Glasgow airport were knowledgeable and friendly, though service was a little slow due to many customers.

Pros: The car was good and quite new. The counter was helpful.
Cons: The price was very much more expensive than what I have seen in Kayak advertised. Not value for money, should have reflected when I booked in Internet.
Cons: I reserved a car for pick up at the airport 2 months before my trip. Upon arriving at the airport I was told that my car was not available at that location, the location that did have that car was closed and my only option was £360 more. My entire booking which I paid for ahead of time was supposed to be £73 I ended up paying an additional £360. Further despite information on Kayaks booking there is no hertz at the dalcross airport in inverness and drop off took forever. I will never use kayak or hertz in the U.K. again.Emo

Pros: The car, the mileage, the drop off
Cons: Being told 4 times that I would definitely need a bigger car. That I shouldn't even take this car on the motorway since it's too small. That I'll get bad mileage and will pay more in fuel with such a small car. All of these being lies. Also was told I MUST return the car empty. When I tried to ask why she said "that's how we do it here". Later realizing I'd paid for a tank of gas upfront she never mentioned. Terrible experience with this agent and understand upselling, but not bold faced lies and misleading.

Pros: Easy drop off
Cons: When we dropped off our car we informed the guy inspecting the car of the absolute horrible GPS and the windshield wiper fluid that smelt like cat pee. He just said oh, okay! Then he started the car and used the windshield wiper fluid and said "yep, it stinks" and then handed us out receipt and walked away!
Cons: When you use a debit card you have to provide two recent utility bills or other prrof of address. That can be challenging for someone from abroad. Was resolved through use of internet and electronic bills, but caused a delay.

Pros: Friendliness of staff - seems like they have had some training in US customer service
Cons: My rental car had issues so had to find an alternative car. But not such a big deal really.
Staff all wanted to shake hands - must be a new training thing - unnecessary in my opinion.

Pros: Requested a Nissan Pathfinder for third row of seats. Its not a car enterprise UK carries in their fleet anymore so they offered us a SEAT Alhambra people carrier (mini van) for same price. We had it for 18 days and it was a great car for the money. Wish they had them in the U.S.!
