Car rental at Glasgow Prestwick Airport

While there are no car hire companies actually located at the terminal itself, there are various car hire companies nearby that have links with the airport and are set up to meet clients coming off the flights. Two of the main companies which provide Glasgow Prestwick Airport car hire are Europcar and Arnold Clark Car & Van Rental. Both companies are located within two miles of the airport and can be reached via a shuttle service.

Ensure that you have with you your valid driving licence, the credit card you used to make the booking and, if your licence doesn’t have a photo, you will need to have a photo ID. If you hold a UK driving licence, please remember to have a proof of address with you when you collect your car. If your licence is not written in the Latin alphabet you will need to hold an international driving licence.

For trips through the winding country lanes and small villages along the west coast of Scotland you will be able to pick up smaller economy vehicles that are easier to manoeuvre but if you would like to go further afield and perhaps take a trip into the mountains it may be better to hire an SUV that will provide comfort as you go the distance.

Car rental companies that offer shuttle or pick-up services from Glasgow Prestwick airport to off-airport locations include Arnold Clark, Avis, Budget, Europcar, and keddy by Europcar.
