they could answer the phone and be more responsive. they said that they would provide a charger when i called central reservations (since they don't answer the phone at the location) and they said yes, when I got there it was not the right charger. On May 2nd, I filled up the car at 8: 52 am at 537 Keele St west as the car needed to be filled up and I am required to show a receipt that I filled up the car as per the contract agreement. Please see attachment 3 for the receipt and proof of the time of filling up the car. At 9:00 am I returned the car. The same sign was on the door that said that the attendant was away for 15 minutes but unfortunately, I could not wait as I had an urgent appointment and I really need to leave on time. Since there was no one there, I had no choice but to leave the car. There are cameras all over the premise of this AVIS location that can verify I was there on time. I attempted to call the office to let them know I left the car, because I had an urgent very urgent appointment to get to.  I finally received a call from AVIS at 9: 13 am, the same salesperson from this AVIS location called me and said that I left the car overnight and that it was damaged. This tells me that he was not there until that specific time or else he would have seen that I just returned the car and I have the receipt of when I filled up the car to prove it. I headed back to the location AVIS 3193 Dundas St W) at 9:19 am to try to figure out what had happened. The attendee insisted I was not there at 9 am. He then proceeded to demand I pay for the scratch on the car. The attendee continued to intimidate me and said that he would call the police, he also said that if I did not sign the documents that he would write down I refused to pay which would cause me even more money. I insisted that he provide me this paper work (which I have) and allow me time to review the paper work before signing anything. It was very hard for me to even ask for time to review the paper work, as he was extremely upset and I was in tears but I knew I had to review anything before signing it, given that he clearly already lied to me as I was clearly there at 9 am having just filled up the car. I have also attached a video of the car showing the front scratch and its significant damage that he said was ok before I even rented the car and also showing the back scratch that he says I caused although it was not there at 9 am when I returned the car.

How could I rent a service that I didn’t have access to? I mean I could have robbed a car since the employee wasn’t even paying attention of what I was doing (btw the tour I did with the Audi while your employee was telling me: « just pick a car and go to the office they will help you » was very fun). 1. Impossible to understand where is the entrance 2. It looks like an abandoned parking 3. They close without informing you and let you come with a booking to tell you « sorry we cannot give you a car ou manager left » 4. Their employees lie, they told me they couldn’t give me a car because the manager has the key to open the parking door, 10min later I see them opening it. 4. Employee tried to intimidate me by coming closer to me and start to be agressive, which didn’t work of course. To conclude, don’t go there

In their online listing the agency claimed to be in the terminal at Toronto airport but in fact we had to find our way with poor signage to an airport train that took us to a shuttle pickup which in turn took us to the offsite agency location. The second problem arose at checkin when we were surprised to learn there was a $17 per day fee for a spouse to be a second driver. Both the off-site location and the second driver fee should have had prominent mention in the Expedia listing.

We requested a vehicle that would accommodate 8 people. Surprice assured us the vehicle we rented would accommodate 8 people - it did not, only 7 people. Our rental agreement stated 4000km free and then 0.18$ thereafter. The car rental company said only 1400km were free and we needed to read “the fine print”. The windshield was covered with ice and snow. There was snow on the roof and hood of the vehicle causing it to blow off on the 401. The vehicle only had half a tank of gas. The windshield washer fluid container was empty. The car did not have a snow brush to clean the ice and snow off. This was incredibly dangerous as we rented the vehicle for a week in Toronto during Christmas. We had to purchase both windshield washer fluid and a snow brush. The car rental staff were rude and just shrugged their shoulders when we questioned the kilometre issue. They said they had no staff to clean the snow and ice of the vehicle despite 4 people sitting behind the counter watching a hockey game. Never. Ever. Again.

They did not honor the details of my reservation. In spite of my reservation clearly stating a limit of 4K KM, they charged me per km after 200km. When challenged, they gave no reason. Furthermore, be warned: it took over an hour to walk quickly through the airport, take a train, then take a shuttle to the car rental counter. It would have been even longer if I had to pick up bags.

Was a good car, they didn't clean it before giving it to me, and when I went to return it the found "new damage" on the car, which wasn't obtained during my rental time, and now charged me 1500 to fix it. Wouldn't rent from there again.
