Cons: "At Mumbai airport, during check-in I was told that my carry on bag plus personal item together should weigh not more than 7kgs!! I have never had any airline actually weigh my personal item (laptop backpack) before this journey. Eventually I ended up stuffing my check-in bags with everything I was carrying in my carry on bag before I was allowed to check in. The weird thing is, I was never told about this rule on my journey from the US to India."

When we we asked for the third time they brushed us off with a time frame. It was extremely disappointing."

The entertainment is good but frustrating that it is constantly interrupted with announcement about everything. I have never heard that many on any other plane. The announcement about customs paperwork was long and done 2 times in English and 2 times in Arabic. There safety video is soooo long and again is done in two languages. It was just all too much. Besides that everything was great."

I and a random group of passengers were made to wait with no explanation AFTER our electronics were already cleared to go through yet another security check. They said we were selected for screening but all the other people they took before us were screened the exact same way. It was stressful and traumatizing to stand for 45 minutes with no clear explanation. The crew were clearly new at their job or ill trained. On top of that they consistently ran out of food they were serving and was forced to take the vegetarian option when it's not what I wanted. I could not wait to leave Doha and exit Qatar airways. I hated my experience traveling with Qatar. It was stressful and traumatic. I want a full refund. I will also be advising all my friends to never fly Qatar. It was the WORST!"

Was promised my luggage by 4:30 pm . Didn't receive it until 2:30 am next day. Missed my whole first day of vacation as I had no clothes , toiletries, etc . Very angry, and feel I should get a substantial discount on my next flight in March to Dubai. Totally unacceptable !!!!!!!"

"Even though I was had been double vaccinated weeks prior; arrived at the airport 5 hours early; had two negative COVID tests, including a PCR test I was forced to pay $225 for at the airport (the free tests do not have the fast result turn-around required by the Sri Lankan government); proof of a ride from the airport and lodging information; I WAS DENIED ENTRY TO MY FIRST FLIGHT. I was told I needed a special email from the government? I was told to email immediately and given a bogus email address? The one man, who was a "supervisor" for Etihad and refused to identify himself, kept berating me and told me explicitly that "you Americans are used to going wherever you like whenever you like BUT IT'S NOT THAT WAY ANYMORE!!!" I was dumbfounded. I should mention that I was unfailingly polite the entire time. I would characterize this employee's behavior towards me as abuse. I did try to call KAYAK for several hours but no response. This same employee kept intercepting me on the snake line and continuously prevented me from approaching the check-in desk. I should add that I was the only person waiting who appeared to not be of SE Asian or Middle Eastern descent as well as the only unaccompanied woman. While I cannot for certain that this had anything to do with the Etihad employee's targeting, I can say. that my experience was truly horrible. After 5 hours of attempting check-in, being prevented from approaching the check-in desk, and being continuously denigrated and lied to, I left the airport in despair. That was only the beginning of my troubles. Many weeks later, I still do not have a refund, or even an exchange, for my wasted ticket. I have spent countless hours on hold with KAYAK and their enterprise is absolutely criminal. I really can not afford to lose the price of my ticket, but I don't know how many more weeks/days/hours I can spend fighting for a refund for a flight I was prevented from boarding for no apparent logical reason? AVOID ETIHAD. AVOID KAYAK!! They have stolen my money and have been absolutely horrid. And if anyone from KAYAK reads this PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY. I am so deeply tired of this. The way you have treated me is so. very. wrong."

Cons: "They failed to informed me that passangers have to report to the gate one full hour before direct flights to the US from Abu-Dhabi in order to clear US customs and border security which happens there prior to your flight (which is the only place in the world that this happens.) I arrived at the Airport 2.5 hours before my flight and reported to my gate 45 minutes before my flight and was not allowed through. They then were extremely rude to me when I was in the process of finding a new connection and made me buy a brand new ticket for the following morning as the penalties for rescheduling would cost more than buying a new ticket which was 1200 USD!! They insisted that this warning was on their web site and would have been on my ticket had I got it from their website. Since I purchased my ticket from Kayak.com, that was my own problem. They then showed me a warning label on the baggage claim slip that they gave me at check in but this was only in Arabic with NO ENGLISH translation provided. More importantly the representative who checked me in to my flight never told me about needing to be at the gate 1 hr before the flight. Throughout this whole process they were unapologetic, unsympathetic and rude. I met two other people that same day who had the same problem one of these passangers arrived at the gate 1.5 hrs before her flight and still could not get to her flight in time because of the inefficient customs and immigration process that the Emarati's have in place in an attempt to mimic our process in the US. This is a very bad policy which only Etihad does. If you fly through Dubai with Emirates they do not require this nonsense. The Etihad staff were rude, unhelpful, unapologetic and inefficient. Never fly from Abu-Dhabi to the US with Etihad. On the flight, as the plane came to a stop at the end of the runway but still needed to taxi in to the gate, people started getting up. Instead of calmly explaining to people what was going on, one of the stewardesses waved it off and said well when we start moving again or if something happened they will just DIE then! This was not the only occasion I was disgusted by the staff. I woke up on the flight and couldn't find my glasses and the response of one of the stewardesses was "can you ask someone else to help you, I am on my way to take a nap and if I stop to help you I want get my full rest." This airline is one of the worst in the world if not the worst. I will never fly with them again and I am considering sending these stories to a NEWS network to raise awareness on this issue. Their staff don't care. They seem to be overworked and burned out. They only get one day off when flying to New York and back when by law they are required two. This shows that they are abusive to their staff which then leads their staff to have have horrible customer service."

Cons: "I travelled from KUL to JFK with transit at Abu Dhsbi. Nightmarish transit in Abu Dhabi. Three intrusive security screenings (why three?). At some point they take away your boarding pass and make you sit in a hall for about half an hour (with similar 'criminals') with no access to bathrooms without telling you why. Then they call your name to return the boarding pass ( which was a problem for me because I am hearing challenged). Not sure this special treatment is reserved for just brown skinned travellers"

Yet when I got off the plane, I realized that I was nevertheless charged for $12. This was definitely annoying, and they still haven't gotten back to me. Secondly, which is very frustrating and infuriating, was the fact that not only was my checked luggage delayed, they did not call me or reply to my emails with any useful information on my luggage's situation. To this date, I have no idea where it is, if it's lost or damaged, or when can they deliver it to me. I had all my clothes, my DSLR camera and gifts in my luggage, and I had to buy a bunch of stuff in the next few days because I didn't have those things. It has been more than a week, and they still haven't gotten back to me on anything. For this reason alone, I think they totally deserve a poor overall rating, especially because I chose them in the first place because I trusted their good ratings."

There were three crying babies, which I know neither the airline nor the families themselves can control, as well as one child with special needs who was making a lot of noise the whole flight. I wasn't able to sleep at all for that reason. Additionally, I was disappointed that the flight was late and that the deplaning process was so long – we taxied for a long time and there was only one staircase, so we were very late."

Pros: "I had the opportunity of flying The Apartment from Abu Dhabi to JFK. It was one of the most incredible first class cabin experiences ever. The experience starts when boarding the aircraft and you are personally escorted to your seat and introduced to the several features around you. The space is ample and the cabin has some privacy doors making it feel very exclusive. There is a large couch across the seat which later is converted into a bed. I was offered pijamas and a small closet to hang my clothes right before take off. Once on the air our personal chef introduced himself and explained the different dishes from the menu. I was able to try the steak and the lamb biryani; both were superb. The IES provided a decent selection of western and some middle eastern films as well as a few live news channels. After I woke up our flight attendant explained the on board shower which is also a distinctive feature allowing to feel refreshed before landing. I had another meal before landing which included an appetizer, and entree and a dessert made with roses. The crew was nothing but fantastic and I would love to fly with them again."

This caused a ripple effect which made us miss our arrival spot and have to wait an additional 30 min on the plane once we landed. You should never make 400+ people sit on an airplane for 2 additional hours (for a 3 hour flight) because a few passengers did not plan well and were late. That logic was insane to me and incredibly frustrating. That is my only complaint that would actually make me think twice about flying Etihad again. The crew seemed annoyed anytime I'd ask for water. A more western food option would be nice rather than just 3 options of rice and curries. Also the food timing did not line up well (eating fish at 9am)."

I was in the middle seat. I love their flight progress and flight time. Their timing was very accurate. In fact, both flights landed earlier than expected."

I took a leisurely stroll down to the gate when he signs said 'boarding soon' and was denied entry to the flight. The next one was in seven hours, so I spent the night in the terminal. The big slap in the face, aside from how rude the staff were: they won't just put you on the next flight. You have to buy a new ticket, full fare. It cost me more to get home than the original round trip ticket did to begin with. Trying to discuss this is fruitless - they are absolutely not interested in helping, but instead use phrases like "you are the one that is wrong" and "why should we pay for your mistake". Essentially, I was held hostage in Abu Dhabi and forced to pay a heavy charge to leave."

Etihad's "Transit Travelers" service is one of the WORST customer service desks I've ever been to. I waited in line for 2 hours. Passengers were urging to be served so they can make it to their connecting flights not knowing they have been already selected not to board those plains. Voices were raised and demands were made to speak to the supervisor. It was chaos. I made it to the agent shortly after the gate to my flight had opened. I was shocked by how the agent lacked empathy when he informed me I won't make it to the connecting flight because it had been overbooked. Not an apology or even sir! I was forced to be rerouted which stretches my 25-hour trip to 33 hours. Then the connecting flight gets delayed more than an hour resulting in missing the second connecting flight. Now my trip has become a 41-hour trip, I missed a day of work that's worth more than double the value of the voucher Etihad gave me and lost one day of unscheduled vacation. Etihad even damages my bag that had servived more than 10 flights. I will never fly Etihad and strongly recommend against flying with Etihad."

Sitting up straight, without the seat ahead of me reclined, my knees touched the back fo the seat in front of me. It felt like I was sitting at a table in a kindergarten classroom, not a chair meant for an adult. In the upgraded seat I was very comfortable. Staff on board was friendly and helpful throughout the flight."
Cons: "I haven't flown American Airlines in quite a while and one gets quite spoiled flying on Emirates or Qatar or Singapore or Norwegian or whatever other airlines. It's easy to forget how utterly mediocre AA is. The food isn't great, the air quality on the flight is terrible and leaves you feeling oily. They don't air-condition the plane until after everyone is boarded so the whole process is hot, sweaty, and unpleasant. Many of the staff are flat out rude to people (I was never on the receiving end, but I overheard what I considered very abrasive tones to others). And so on. Ideally I'd fly on other airlines I think."

I travel around the world for work and each year I fly to more than 12 international locations but never had a horrible experience like this. My carry-on bag is 21” carry-on bag that I traveled in more than 20 countries for the past 3 years but American Airlines staff members at the check insisted that my carry-on bag does not fit the FAA regulations and they threatened me multiple times when I protested their attitudes. I am an avid traveler and I know my rights as a traveler but the American Airlines staff members were extremely rude and insisted that I have to check-in my carry-on bag. The real issue was that regardless of the size of the carry-on bags, they were forcing almost all passengers to heck-in their carry-on bags a clear indication of money-making scheme. When I protested their attitude, they threatened me saying that I pose a security risk and that they would not check me in but I stabbed my grounded insinuated that my bag fits the FAA regulations. I booked this flight from Bristish Airways and this was a code shared flight, I called British Airways in December 22nd and confirmed the measurements of my carry-on bag but when I told American Airlines about the Bristish Airways, they told me “they don’t care, this American Airlines not British Airways”. It was humiliating, it was disrespectful, and it was unacceptable!!!! At the end, I removed one sweater from carry-on and the issue was resolved but after this experience, I will never never fly with American Airlines and never recommend anyone to use American Arilines especially their Barcelona flights and connections."

Apparently the money I paid two months before was no good on this flight. I was traveling with my boyfriend and they would not allow us at the same counter because we were not married. After much haggling we were finally able to rectify the situation. Horrible start. Then, once on the plane, the in- flight entertainment system as well as the lights broke right before take off so there was nothing to watch or see for an almost 8 hour flight."

Would have less waiting for people in front of you to get settled. Wish the last snack had a piece of fruit or something with a bit more healthy aspect."

Please stop using the Boeing 767 jets and only use the Boeing 777 for flights across the Atlantic. I would like to fly American more frequently but not if I think I'm going to get stuck with the planes from the 1980s where there's no personal TV, no place to plug in my phone or electronics to charge unless you carry around a car charger, which I definitely don't, and there's no WiFi on those planes either."

I inserted it on the online form multiple times until I was blocked from doing so, and there was no link to communicate online in real time with anyone who could solve the problem. This was extremely stressful and unnecessary, as well as time consuming. It was not how I wanted to spend my final night in Italy. Furthermore, I had to wake up at 4 am to get a very early bus to the airport in order to check in early enough in person. NOT cool. The food was mediocre. The entertainment options were about the worst I've ever seen. My seat hardly went back at all."

Pros: "Due to a strong tailwind we arrived 45 minutes ahead of schedule. Great service with attentive attendants. However the plane was older than me, no real entertainment system or outlets to plug in smart devices."

There were only 2 people helping on check in (in machines) and these people were still not helping people (like me) with questions about on how to do check in in those machines. On the other hand to dispatch the bags there were almost 8 attendants to receive the bags. Ridiculous! I’ve tried calling American Airlines and Latam several times to assign a seat for me and they swore there were only middle seats but I know how airlines work to make extra money on these seats. At the end, they only gave me a middle seat option and I had to take I.t of course. On the plane I realized there were dozens of empty seats and yet they made sure not give them to me or anyone else. Unbelievable! Unfortunately I still have to use AA on my way back to Brazil. After this, I’ll chose another airlines for sure. Also, the 3,4,3 arrangement is ridiculous: there’s no corridor space making people touching you everything someone passes by your seat. And boy! Those seats are so uncomfortable and there’s no way to incline the chair so you can even have a little rest (because it’s impossible to even sleep on those seats). The crew were simply doing their jobs! No pleasure! No smile! No engaging with anyone unfortunately! They looked miserable and I asked for water and the flight attendant NEVER brought me anything. Seriously! Water is free!"

By ths point it was 5 pm, had been at airport since 8:30 -- no food offered, no apologies, not even a glass of water. Of course, no flights back to US so I was stuck an extra day, completely messed up school and work. I THOUGHT I was booking with Iberia but it was a code share. I WILL NEVER fly American Airlines again!"

Cons: "More than a 2 hour delay in Madrid for American Airlines to replace the seat harness on the Co-pilot's chair. This seems like an evolution that should never delay a flight if the proper preventive maintenance had been performed. Very little info was given and there did not seem to be any concern by the pilot or flight attendants once the flight was boarded due to the delay. I was very relieved, however, when we arrived at JFK and AA had a point of contact helping folks with close flights. We originally had 3.5 hours to make our connection to BWI, but due to the delay, had less than an hour to go thru Passport control, rescreening and entry to the terminal, but we made it. Thank you for the personal representative. I did not get her name, but she was very, very helpful."

Cons: "The plane was extremely old and dated. Never been on such an old plane with no up to date equipment or facilities. The chairs were very uncomfortable and the food was awful. There was no personal entertainment screen for an 11 hour flight and only one of the safety demonstration screens was working during take off. Also no plugs at all."

Pros: "They offered pretty decent food and snack options that were included in the flight- the high quality chocolate ice cream was an especially nice touch as well as the included wine. My seat appeared to have more space than the flight previous to it, so that added a lot more comfort without the extra expense of having to pay for the "more space" seating- I often feel like airlines nickel and dime you to death these days. Perhaps it was just the luck of the draw, but the seats had much more legroom than my first flight to Paris as opposed to the return to NY. The flight crew were all courteous and pleasant. Leather seating with readily available pillows and blankets for all was a nice touch as well."

Sure the flight was cheap, but 6 hours of phone calls to get anything done is unacceptable. The plane used for this flight is ancient. Very tired seating, and no seatback entertainment. One children's film shown on the central TV screen followed by old sitcoms....For a transatlintic flight, this is really poor."

Cons: "I began flying when airline attendants were called airline stewardesses. Their personality plus attitudes and attention to detail reflected on the overall image of the airline, and did not make me feel like a second rate citizen in a second class seat. I've noticed over the last decade-plus that this has changed. I've been rudely spoken to for reaching for a napkin off the cart as I was not given one with my drink. My elbow was hit by the cart as it moved from back to front of isle, and no apology followed. The garbage was collected moving back to front, so I had to get the attention of the attendant after she flew by me. I thoroughly researched the size of the suitcase required prior to flying, and bought a new one to meet the requirements. My suitcase did not fit on American Airlines. Why am I bringing up American Airline? When getting to the airport in Milan, Italy, 2 1/2 hours prior to flight departure, I approached the British Airway counter. As no one was there, I proceeded to believe I was too early, so I had breakfast. I again approached the British Airway counter and still no one was there. On my way to the bathroom, I found the flight board and followed the directions. I searched for British airlines at the gate I was directed to, but was unable to find it. I asked an attendant, and I was directed to the American Airline gate. It was very confusing. It would have been nice if there was a sign at the British Airways counter directing its customers to American Airlines."

It took 6 attempts to read my passport, it never did read my green card, wouldn't accept my frequent flyer number. Other passengers were similarly frustrated. The attendant couldn't have been less helpful. I joined a line to check in with a counter clerk. The counter positions were seriously understaffed. The clerks seemed to be working quite slowly and were quite unconcerned about the growing line. I'm glad I checked in early for my flight!"

Cons: "The only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't much legroom in the economy section. Another problem - which is probably related to Heathrow airport and outside of the crew's control - was that the staff at the airport rushed us tremendously during boarding, saying that the flight would close half an hour in advance. I had never seen boarding close that early and it was very frustrating, because the boarding then took a very long time, since they searched us for no reason, and our flight ended up taking off 30 minutes late! As passengers, we felt very rushed, it seems, for no reason."

Cons: "This had to have been among the worst flights I have ever experienced in 50+ years of flying to 86 countries. First, an e-mail before I left my Paris apt that it would be 1 hr late departing. THEN the announcement ON BOARD that the flight would make a REFUELING stop in Bangor Maine (the eqpt was a 20 yr old 757 meant for a medium-range domestic route instead of Paris-NY). So it was FOUR HOURS LATE arriving, including an extra hour on the ground in Bangor because they'd lost their landing slot (tho they lied about "bad weather" at JFK) ... a succession of lies and incompetence. Headphone jack didn't even work at the seat ... the movie was a US film dubbed into French anyway! Gawd what incompetence. A letter Fedexed to Doug Parker, AA's CEO, was not even acknowledged.... and I do 35,000 air miles a year on AA. THE WORST."

Pros: "THis was an ok flight. Everything was on time and the crew was hreat. On the other hand, the food was terrible and the check in process was not expedite at all. The American Airlines crew did not know how to handle my G4 visa while checking in and they neglected to mark my bag with the orange ribbon signaling platinum status in American. This is key to getting your luggae faster in baggage claim when you have a short connection (I had less than two hours). This omission caused my suitcase to arrive last, and I had to run to make it to my next flight."

I liked the fact that we got ice cream halfway through the flight also, that's not a very common thing! Entertainment system was very good -- lots of choices of things to watch/listen to! I was pleased to find that there were movies available that had been very recently released that I had been wanting to see!"
Cons: "Comfort was okay, my seat was on the end of a row with three seats (aisle side) and immediately behind me was a row with only two seats. Without fail, the flight attendants bumped their carts into my chair EVERY time they passed. If I had been trying to sleep, this would be much more of a disturbance to me. Seeing as I was just watching movies and enjoying the food, it wasn't that much of an issue. However, I think it would be easy for the flight attendants to just take a second longer to try to navigate around the chair and not bump it every time. Little things like that go a long way, especially on a long flight."

Cons: "We boarded or flight just a few minutes late initially then had to taxi back to the gate to fix AC(?!) electrical issues, which were seemingly fixed just as we started to de-plane. Then after a slew of nonsense announcements about waiting for a new pilot, redirecting the destination, and basically misinformation about reboarding, we are told that the flight MIGHT be canceled; It has been nothing but one excuse after another and honestly after a 4 hour delay with no real answers, I really cannot find any reason to fly this airline ever again. Such poor service."

Cons: "When I booked the flight, I hadn't realized that British Airlways had contracted the flight out to be operated by American Airlines. The flight was delayed in Paris and I ended up missing my connecting flight through JFK to DC. Though we were told on the plane that we would be given assistance upon landing and helped in an expedited manner through customs, instead I was briefly informed I had missed my connecting flight, handed an envelope, and told I needed to now travel to Laguardia Airport. No other information or assistance was provided. I was not given a reason why I needed to travel an hour in NYC traffic to switch airports nor was I given any help through customs. The shuttle I was told to take was unable to take me to the correct terminal, so I needed to get on a secondary shuttle. Again, after a 7 hour international flight, little assistance or aid was provided. I was barely able to make it through security in time to catch the new flight. Additionally, the actual flight from Paris to JFK lacked basic in-flight entertainment that almost any international flight would have. I will not be traveling on American Airlines again, and I am hopeful that Kayak and BA will be more clear in the future."

Cons: "The flight was delayed after some passengers began boarding. The boarding process was also all over the place. When i finally got on the plane, the seats were very uncomfortable and I felt like a sardine being crammed into a small tin. the crew was at best, mediocre and boring. The in flight snack was two crappy pieces of cookie? Or was that a cracker? I did not eat it. The entertainment was one shared screen that I did not have a headset for, nor was I offered a headset, free or for a fee. The screen in front of me was too close and the screen behind that was further away and barely able to see it. I choose not to watch it for these reasons. The landing was rough at the end, everyone jolted forward when we hit the ground."

Cons: "Had worse return flight experience. The flight was supposed to depart at 10am. While everyone was boarded, we were told the airplane missing a part. All of us had to wait for 2 and half hours for the crew to tell us that the part was in London. Thus, the flight had to be canceled. Then we waited to pick up our luggages from 12:30pm to nearly 4pm in order to get transported to a 40- minute drive away Hotel. I was starving because I didn't have breakfast as I tried to catch my flight and no food was provided during the waiting time. Plus, the entire day was wasted. Oh well, at least we were provided accommodation for the overnight, 2:40am breakfast, 4am airport shuttle, and 8am flight to get to our destination next day."

I was super disappointed that even after all the mistakes, no one would help me find a new flight and I had to pay for another one. This becomes a problem for elder people and also those traveling with families. 6) They split baggage claim into 2 carousels which was very confusing. We couldn't figure out which carousel to wait at. 7) The flight was delayed by an 45 minutes (while landing) but there were no announcements."

Mu back is hurting after one full day of rest at home. Just they don't have any courtesy or customer satisfaction mind set. This is why they are loss making airlines. No video or entertainment through the entire flight for many passengers. Tray table broken. Life jacket under the seat in front came loose further obstructing legroom. Call button? Forget it. No one ever responds. Old 777 aircraft maybe 15 years old. Food not tasty and under-salted in response to health fads. Timing of meals more for the convenience of staff than for the convenience of passengers."

Cons: "Food not good. Smells preservatives. Why do you give bread and call Indian. Crew not courtious n not helpful Media not good"

Pros: "NOTHING"
Cons: "We had a 6 hour layover in Mumbai before 1:30am flight. They took us to a secured zone next to the boarding gate around 12:30am. The flight was delayed - no announcement, no water, no toilet facilities in that zone. Including kids and aged people -everyone in distress and Air India had no concern. Flight took off two hours late and not even some drink was offered. Very poor quality food. I called crew members for some help and they didn't show up. In the recess area also no food or drink was kept. We were kept hungry, thirsty and dissatisfied. Can't be worse than this."

Pros: "There is nothing to like as everything is horrible."
Cons: "Long check in lines. No web Check in. We were waiting at preboarding area and then gone through another security scan where they take away water bottle that was bought after the 1st security check. There was an issue of some kind and no one mentioned anything to anyone until people started complaining. We waited over 90 minutes past the departure time at the 2ns boarding area. There is no water nor bathrooms. What a way to treat your customers."

Pros: "Every time I took the flight it landed always on time or before time."
Cons: "Overall the food was great other than parathas were uncooked. At the time of check in at Mumbai Airport we had to stand in the line for an hour and half cumbersome line. Why combine all flights pass passengers in one line? The attendants at the check in line at Mumbai were letting go foreigners in the business class line even if they were flying economic!!"

Pros: "The food was really good."
Cons: "The entertainment systems don't function in most of the seats. Also the flight being on time is purely on your luck."

Cons: "Outrageous Air India policy: after getting a boarding card, it's the passengers responsibility to make it to the boarding gate on time. If you miss a flight due to long lines at Indian passport control and / or security check then, unlike other airlines, Air India won't book on their next available flight as a courtesy. Rather, Air India makes passengers purchase a new ticket. In my case, I managed to reach the gate for my Chicago flight 15 minutes before departure but the gate had closed 5 minutes earlier. Next, Air India insisted I pay $1,400 for a new one way ticket. They said it's my fault that I showed up at the airport 90 minutes before departure instead of "4 hours". So even after getting a boarding card, for Air India it's the passengers' fault if there are long lines at passport control."

Pros: "AI continues to have strong flight crews on their long haul flights who pay attention on board and try their best with the often challenging Indian travelers visiting their families. On board meals hot and well balanced with the vegetarian meals well tuned to the Indian palate but likely to miss the mark for others. No alcohol."
Cons: "Online capabilities well behind the Arab and European airlines. Expect poor performance and a hodgepodge of unreliable online self service. Multiple efforts to update my travel for seat selection and meal preferences failed as I found out at the airport . Lack of robust entertainment and an older interface in flight with often broken USB ports make bringing your own entertainment and using it on a 15 hr flight challenging at best . No internet access available which for business travelers is a must today."

Pros: "Satisfactory in every respect."
Cons: "Nothing that I can think of."

Cons: "The toilet near my seat was leaking urine onto the floor from the start of the flight. The attendant's solution was to spread newspaper on the floor to soak it up! The food is terrible so I carried my own. Why an Indian airline does not serve yogurt/dahii beats me, while almost every other airline does. Entertainment? Forget about it! I sat in the same seat going to Mumbai and returning. When the attendant is told that the entertainment system does not work they just shrug and say they are sorry."

Cons: "Flight left late to wait for other passengers. . Entertainment services were not working and for a long haul flight is not acceptable.. The flight attendants kept one lavatory locked for their own use. The food was mediocre,. The lavatories were not cleaned. I have been in many other carriers and the flight attendants maintained the lavatories. Flight attendants were not helpful with placing or locating spaces for carry on luggagess. No simple amenities provided like socks , earplugs, or eye cover like other airlines. The seats were falling apart, fabric was torn. I have to give credit to the person who assisted in issuing me a new booking due to a snag with name. However, I was placed in a different line after being issued a boarding pass without further explanation. Every other passenger in the same queue were perplexed like me . Air India badly needs to up their ante. Customer service is poor overall. Seriously makes me wonder how aircraft safety and maintenance is performed."

Pros: "It is slightly cheaper than other airlines. Luggage allowance is 2 bags without additional charge."
Cons: "TV was not working and crew did not help to correct it since it was broken. All seats around had broken plastic, maintenance of the equipment was extremely poor. Toilets were not clean and even after placing a call for attendant, no help was forth coming. Crew member response to the call from the seat ( calling button) was non existent. wheelchair passengers were very poorly treated. They provided snacks at night and then breakfast and in the early morning they provided lunch. The sequence should have been reversed. Choices for food were very limited. Chicken was served as only non-veg item. Fish or anything else was not a choice. Bottled water was provided and in the lunch item instead of yogurt or anything else, they provided another small container of water. Food quality and quantity was insufficient."

Cons: "I had the worst possible experience flying Air India back from Delhi to NY. I was at the Delhi airport, cleared all the different levels of security and was provided with my boarding pass. After which I went to the gate looking for a seat during which time it was announced that the flight has been delayed by a few hours. I arrived at the gate and there was no more seats left, so I decided to go sit right outside the gate as I did not want to stand for 3 hours especially since I was unwell and was taking antibiotics for my severe cold and sore throat. I sat down on a reclining chair right outside the gate during which time Air India apparently preponed the flight and apparently announced my name on the loud speaker. I say apparently because I do not know if I possibly dosed off fora few minutes or this actually happened. The reason I say this is because after I missed my flight and went to the counter, the representative and even the manager repeatedly told me that the flight was never delayed. When, with a strong voice, I told them that how can they lie about that they apologized and said yes the flight has been delayed. The fact that hey can lie to my face makes me believe that they did not even announce my name. Furthermore, after they announced my name they even had time to unload my baggage from the flight. If they had time to do all of that, they they should have continuously announced my name. I was right outside the gate, I would have heard it! After all this, they refused to put me on the next flight. They said the next one available was in 4 days and would cost me $1,100! I had to run around at 3am in the airport trying to figure out how to get back home while I was sick! They refused to help me in any way. DO NOT FLY AIR INDIA, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!! How can you leave a passenger who has a stamped boarding pass and is sitting right outside the allotted gate! Did they expect me to stand outside the gate for 3 hours at 1am if their were no seats available there!"

Cons: "1. The food trollies/carts were very dirty - may not have been cleaned in a long time. 2. I asked the crew a number of times to get me immigration form at the time of landing in India, they did not get me. They distributed on one side of the isle. One of the crew members said that we do not need it. When I landed at Mumbai airport, the first thing they asked was immigration form. The staff should be trained properly. 3. The TVs are outdated. They should be replaced with latest world class models. 4. While coming back from New Delhi, we were not served any food for 8 hours continuously. There were no snacks, sandwiches, peanuts or chips. I asked a crew member for peanuts and he said that they do not have."

Cons: "I arrived at the terminal and was told my ticket was voided by Kayak. When I contacted Kayak they told me it was Air India's fault. Air India then refused to provide any evidence of the voided ticket. End result? I paid over $750 for a flight and was never given a ticket. I was forced to dispute the charge and buy a $1200 ticket via Emirates. I will not be booking with Kayak or Air India ever again and want to warn others about doing the same. If things are running smoothly I'm sure you will have no complaints. However, if there is any situation where you require customer service, you're going to be in a tough spot."

Pros: "Am a loyal air india flier from last so many years.But from last 2-3 years disappointed with the services."
Cons: "The person at the chek-in counter was so slow n rude.Even for 1kg of extra weight I was asked to remove.I flew with the same bag from delhi to mumbai n it showed as 23.3.The scale at mumbai showed 1kg more.Very few movie choices.Remotes never seem to work.Food quality goin down."

Cons: "My entertainment system didn't work. I told many crew members about it and after some 5 times they "reset" it. But it still didn't work. It's probably not their fault but I hate that they took like 8 HOURS to tell me that. Then I asked them if there is an empty seat with a working entertainment system. They again took hours and I had to ask so many different ppl so many times to change my seat. Finally, during the last hour of my flight, they changed my aisle seat to a middle seat. BUT THE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM STILL DIDNT WORK. Absolutely horrendous. I want a refund!"

Pros: "I travelled business class but did not get the service I expected . To be more precise : 1. I would expect the crew to help me keep my luccases on the over head cabins . Crew should come forward to extend help rather passenger asking crew 2. I would expect some more items added to beverages . Passengers who take tea should be given the option to select green tea too 3. The business seats have bottle compartments for water bottle which should be continuously be filled up with new bottles once it empty All the above are minor improvements which when added can make the travel more happier"

Pros: "It's a direct flight from JFK to DEL. I slept 11 out of 15 hours. They were generous with booze. The whole thing went by relatively painlessly."
Cons: "The audio jack on my seat was broken (actually, it had been ripped out). I made do and watched a movie by turning on subtitles, but it wasn't ideal. The food was just so-so. It was Indian food but not prepared well. I'm Indian and a foodie so perhaps my standards are high, but tasty food is a dime a dozen in Delhi so please, get a new caterer. Also, nobody wants a white bread roll with their Indian meal (perhaps I am mistaken here). Instead, give us yogurt! Both of these are minor problems and I'd like to reiterate how important it is to me that the flight is direct, with no painful break in the middle to deplane and then wait 5-8 hours and then replane."
