When I collected my luggage at the baggage terminal, someone in charge of food or luggage had spilled curry sauce ALL OVER my suitcase - I had to throw it away. Many of the in-flight screens didn’t work, and the stewardesses were lazy and inattentive."

Cons: "My wife and I along with our 2 yr old son were flying AI 102 from JFK to DEL on 12th Dec 2017. Boarding happened on time at 1 pm EST and that was the last sane thing to have happened. First, there was some problem and flight got delayed, AI staff would not tell us what was going on and kept buying time with one excuse or the other. Soon this stretched to over 3 hours of sitting inside the plane while the plane did not move an inch from the gate. Finally they announced there was some technical problem that required a part replacement and as per the DGCA regulations, passengers would need to deplane. After deplaning, we were given a $10 meal voucher and told to stay close by the AI gate as the replacement part was already on the way and the plan would take off around 6 PM. As time passed, passenger's impatience started growing as AI staff just wouldn't share any concrete information. Suddenly around 6 pm they announced that the replacement part had arrived and engineers were working to fix it and that boarding would now start soon, all this while insisting that passengers stay close to the AI gate as boarding could happen any time. Around 7 PM they started the boarding, little did we know that this was merely an exercise in deception that was never meant to get us on the plane, but rather just meant to herd us to a much smaller hall downstairs with poor air conditioning where people along with their hungry starving babies and crying children could suffocate further. To make matters worse, there was no explanation provided by the AI staff still about what was going on, downstairs staff would say engineers are still working and the staff upstairs that was managing the boarding said they were under instructions from downstairs passengers to board the passengers. After about 45 mins of waiting, passengers finally lost their patience. When several Mom's yelled at the AI staff to provide clear cut information, the staff relented and sent the passengers back upstairs where there was better air conditioning and people could still move around. We were still asked to hang out close to the AI gate lest we miss the boarding that could happen any moment - this was still 8 PM. After another hour of wait, around 9 PM finally we got hold of the AI station manager who informed us that the flight had been cancelled. Upon being asked the next steps, he had no answer and asked us to get back to the departure ticketing terminals where they would provide further information. Long story short, the next 2 hours were AI's shoddiness at it's best. Utter confusion, misinformation from the AI staffers, unruly scenes at JFK that eventually required police to be called in was the order of the day. We finally got into an AI arranged hotel at 1 in the night - no dinner - with the promise of being flown out the next day at 12:30 pm. It's another matter that the flight next day could depart only at 3:30 PM, but we were thankful that at least it did. #NeverFlyingAirIndia"

Pros: "The Dreamliner gave me comfort and I could relax during the flight. Seats gave adequate space, while legroom was ample. Food towards Chennai (breakfast) was stodgy - especially the omelet. Food towards Singapore was great. I had the vegetarian rice set which was hot and just enough for me. I watched 4 movies in total; the Tamil ones had subtitles. All were good. Check-in and boarding was smooth."
Cons: "One of the stewardesses on the SG-MAA flight was loud and bossy, ordering passengers to close the stow compartments doors. No need to shout. And besides, on most flight I see the crew doing it. Please be professional."

Cons: "I had middle seat which didn't incline. I was never informed about this nor my seat was changed. It was a full flight but I have lower back issue which got aggravated due to uncomfortable seat. I was sitting straight through out the flight. it would have been better if I was informed about it in advance. I was never even able to do web checking due to their system error neither at home nor was able to use self checking system at the airport and was informed by staff at airport it's recurring problem. It surprises me that it's not fixed causing passengers pain at the airport and flight."

They decided to go through all of our bags again as we went up stairs to board the plane. Of my hundreds of flights I have never seen something this idiotic and redundant. Completely ridiculous to open up every single passenger’s bag before allowing them to take their seat. And this happened an hour AFTER departure time, making me and half the plane miss connecting flights. Never book through them, pay the extra to save yourself the headache. They didn’t care that they made us spend an extra $1000 to rebook international flights, just a “we understand this inconveniences you” completely ridiculous."
