I confirmed the wheelchair option well advance before her travel date in Qatar Airways Web site. I got the confirmation also in the Qatar Airways Web site. I usually fly with my family as I have a big family with couple of children and elderly. I will never fly Qatar again, this was the 1st and the last fly with Qatar airways."

Cons: "In Oman airs home airport there was no service desk. When the flight was delayed the sent 1 agent do deal with a full glitch’s worth of guests. Even though the delay was over 6 hours they gave no compensation besides lounge access to a lounge that is not fully functional. The next morning (yes the delay was overnight and they didn’t provide a hotel room) they called us all to the gate only to tell us they still were waiting for the plane to be repaired (the night before they’d Told us the flight would be in time as they’d flown another plane in). Again there was only one Oman air agent and just normal airport staff to handle the full flight. People were yelling and there was a lot of anger but no official announcements were ever made and only rumors passed from those who actually had a chance to talk to the on me guy. Finally when i arrived in Bangkok it seemed like they had there act together as there were many agents on the gangway to assist people to find connecting flights. Being so late there was only on flight for me and several others trying to get to Phuket. An agent took us to immigration and told us all he’d meet us in the other side to take us to the check in. HE DIDN’T SHOW UP. We couldn’t go back in the airport to find him or anyone from Oman air and were left to find an airport employee who graciously helped us find the booking office and just make the flight. I fly internationally regularly and this was by far the worst airline experience I’ve ever had or even heard about."

Need to give out more water on flight to combat dehydration as well. Stopping in Muscat's terminal was like a time warp back to a 1970s mall. Also no direct connection to terminal, planes park out on tarmac and take people on 1 km bus ride to connect to terminal. Legroom was pretty tight but not horrid Crew making announcements on landing were unprofessional, heard co-pilot or steward laughing in the background - while captain droned on in Arabic - this does not engender confidence in their ability to fly the plane!"

It was embarrassing as we had brought luggage as per tickets issued. IF THE AGENT APPOINTED BY OMAN AIR HAD ISSUED A WRONG TICKET, IT IS THE PRINCIPAL WHO IS RESPONSIBLE WHICH IN THIS CASE IS OMAN AIR. IT WAS A BAD EXPERIENCE AND OMAN AIR HAS TO COMPENSATE. The entertainment screens did not work for quite some time."

The food service schedule was odd, especially serving lunch at 2am for a flight that was going to land at 6:30am. Why wake up everyone ? Food was okay except the white bread, pretending to be a croissant filled with what looked like was unmelted butter. Entertainment system did not work at all. And the plane had no wifi or USB ports. If it was not so convenient as the only nonstop between Washington and Delhi, I would not fly this Airline."

In row 18 I had to simultaneously run the same program on two sets and listen to sound from one and watch the picture in another because independently they would not work. The air hostess was particularly rude to the elderly couple in row 18 and after watching a few interactions I had to intervene and tell the air hostess that she has to respect the customers and cannot talk to them like that. She would address them with a crinkly nose and condescending tone as if they were smelly uncultured people that she has to put up with. This is when the aforementioned lights and reclining systems in the row would not work and she could not do anything about it. Overall there is a huge potential here for AI if only they can capitalize on the good opportunities. They should fix the air plane mechanical parts. The upholstery can use freshening up. Air India should retrain their crew to make them understand that customers are the reason they exist. I hope they succeed."
