After all that wait I was asked to sign an Indemnity form stating that I'll be responsible for any penalties whatsoever from Dubai Immigration if denied entry in dubai. The staff don't even know the rules and have behaved so dumb while dealing with passenger and have zero knowledge about document checks. Either the airline needs to get them more trained before getting them on the floor or needs to take strict action against them. Because wasting my time at the Mumbai airport was not so entertaining for me and the airline did not even seem apologetic about it. Vistara has hired some really unprofessional and uneducated staff at their Mumbai station."

Traveling by air in India in economy class is like traveling in a greyhound bus. If you are from the US and 30+ year old avoid the Economy class."

Cons: "Three things : 1) The crew seemed to be relatively inexperienced and just out of college. I observed a couple of informal communication exchanges from their part. But the crew were helpful and tried their best to provide the best customer experience. 2) The boarding process normally starts with business and premium class and then followed by economy. For my flight however the economy class was boarded first while the business class passengers were kept stranded waiting in a separate line. This also reflected the inexperience of the crew which handled the boarding. 3) Vistara was my connecting flight from Pune to Delhi followed by British airways flight from Delhi to London. Though the flights were booked under one ticket, the representative did not checkin my luggage throughout the journey due to which I had to collect my baggage at Delhi and check it in again. The representative explained that vistara still didn't have alliances with most airlines allowing luggage to be checked in till final destination. This is another front on which they can improve."

They said they’d check and get back with us. When they did they said the additional charge for 15kg was more than the ticket itself!! For more than 15 up to 30kg it was nearly 3 times as much! This really felt like a scam! We asked to cancel the flight and were told we could, but there was no guarantee of any refund. We said to cancel it anyway. Later I was told there would be no refund. I assumed it had been canceled and yet I got emails telling me it was time to check in, etc. And then I’m asked to review my flight! So, between Indigo and Kiwi.com I felt I got terrible service. I will not use either of them again. In the end we got a flight for the original amount including 15kg of checked baggage from a different website and on a different airline that left at the exact same. There was a reasonable charge per 5 kg over the15 allowed."

I reserved a window seat through the Air India website and received a confirmation that the seat had been reserved but at check-in, my mother was given a middle seat. When she went to the gate and asked about the seat change, they said sometimes online reservation does not go through (even though the message says it has) and there is nothing they could do about her seat! I have no idea why they provide this facility in that case. My mother's first long distance flight was very uncomfortable when it shouldn't have been. Please avoid choosing Air India!"

They issue boarding pass at one counter and do baggage check in at another. You have carry your bags to get them scanned. Airlines staff at airport were so slow as if they had no clue what they had to do."

Cons: "At the time of checkin, the attendendent offered me Business Class for a nominal fee. I said yes to the offer. Typically, the attendant will simply swipe your card, and receive your boarding pass. Well, the attendant could not swipe my card, but said I had to go to the ticketing office. To keep a long story short, I was escorted all through Chandigarh Aiport, went to 2 different offices on the opposite side of the aiport. Had to go through a rough security process once again. The whole ordeal for the upgrade took 45 minutes, with most people speaking Hindi. This was not a Business Class experience!! Although the plane was a newer A320, the seats were dirty. The inflight entertainement did not work. And the Business Class food was not very tasty and were small serving size. I wasted my money on the Business Class experience."

Pros: "the food was vegetarian but far better than most of the domestic flights I take in the US. The food was also included in the price of the ticket. I wasn't left debating whether to buy a boxed snack for $8 or survive on peanuts and pretzels."

Pros: "Upgrade to business. Totally worth it considering it's a direct flight."

Cons: "The entertainment system and reading light do not work. I have had this happen on my previous Air India flights too."

Cons: "Planes are old..Service is average. Entertainment options are poor. This is the 2nd time I have ever flown Air India. The last time was 20 years ago and i have decided not to fly this airline again. It comes nowhere close to any of its competitors."

They don't bother to make announcements about boarding. Entertainment - Useless... it never works! The flight attendant had to restart a couple of times, even then it didn't work properly. Poor...Poor...Poor!!"

Cons: "There were many problems I faced in the flight mentioned below:- 1) firstly at the time of boarding the staff changed the seats for me and my wife which we had opted at the time of web check in. 2) After getting into flight I noticed the plane was very old and the seats were broken also. 3) very less movies collection. 4) the touchscreen were not at all working . 5) no charging port , it was broken . Not even USB port was there. 6) very bad food service. They just forgot to serve the drinks and meals at a correct interval of time."

Cons: "Air India people left the luggage of half of the passengers at the Delhi Airport. We had to wait at the airport to find out that luggage would arrive by the next flight in the afternoon. The good thing was that the luggage was delivered to our home in the evening."

Pros: "From JFK to Del, crew was really good and helping."
Cons: "Boarding: At T-3,there was proper announcement and everyone formed a queue. Touch screen for entertainment system did not work."

Cons: "I arrived at the terminal and was told my ticket was voided by Kayak. When I contacted Kayak they told me it was Air India's fault. Air India then refused to provide any evidence of the voided ticket. End result? I paid over $750 for a flight and was never given a ticket. I was forced to dispute the charge and buy a $1200 ticket via Emirates. I will not be booking with Kayak or Air India ever again and want to warn others about doing the same. If things are running smoothly I'm sure you will have no complaints. However, if there is any situation where you require customer service, you're going to be in a tough spot."

Cons: "Ground staff handling is horrible, specifically the supervisor at the Delhi airport Rajeev Rathore was very callous, despite bringing it to his attention that their are families with young kids (not my kids, I was traveling alone) who need to be taken care of, he simply shrugged it off, on the other hand people with influence would be moved ahead of line at the counter (that is the INDIA way I was told). I will not fly this airline again. The aircraft inside is in state of disrepair, the lights and the entertainment system does not work (luckly my family is traveling by different airline), imagine young kids with screen not working for 15 hours. Overworked staff. I strongly recommend avoiding this airline."

Pros: "The flight arrived on time, in spite of departing one hour late. The captain's announcements were clear and precise. The food was good. The air hostesses were great!"
Cons: "The plane was really old. The entertainment center malfunctioned. The remote never worked. The AC didn't work for the first 2 hrs. it was unbearable. The bathrooms were poorly maintained. Half the bathrooms weren't working."
