Ahmedabad airport is ill equipped to handle international flights. From check in to security, it is highly inefficient and disorganized. When the flight had technical problems there were no jet airways gate agents to help passengers rebook on site or answer questions with proper information- they passed that responsibility on to ethihad airlines in Abu Dhabi- since I missed my connecting flight, my original 10 hour journey turned into a 22 hour ordeal.
Air India cancelled its Kochi Agati flight three times the week we planned a trip to Agati. Luckily our flight was not cancelled but there were people who got stuck on the island for 3 to 5 days. Always have a cushion of at least a day for your onward journey from Kochi. The aircraft is ancient and would have been out of service if it was USA airline company.
Staff should mange que much in advance and they should make people store their luggage where there seats are.
You do webchk , stand in long que and when you reach to your seat you figure out someone else has occupied the whole storage and then you scout for space in whole flight, whereas staff ruthlessly store baggage and forcing bag to fit in , without taking permission.
Food was simply awful; which is a shame for a national airline of a country known for its great cuisine.
Some members of the crew were really nice, but we had one on each leg of the flight that were so rude to passengers. On the KUL-BKK leg, one male crew member was really loud and obnoxious, and on the BKK-KUL leg, one female crew member was yelling at some older passengers who were a little slow in boarding.
Nothing about this flight. Will avoid Air India in the future!
Dirty and tired looking aircraft; unruly and downright rude passengers; cabin crew were unable to take control of the chaotic boarding; God knows how will they control the situation in the event of an emergency. This was my first and probably last time with Air India. I have always travelled Jet Airways on domestic routes in India and they are far superior.
I ordered the vegetarian meal and was given yogurt that had gelatin in it, which is not vegetarian. I'm glad I took the time to read the label. I just avoided it, and there was plenty of other food to eat, most of which was very good. But, if you're going to serve a vegetarian meal, I think you should make sure it actually is vegetarian.
The boarding process went well and was organized. The cabin staff was welcoming and very presentable. The seats were fine, even in economy. The uniforms on the cabin staff were attractive andnthey looked well on the girls. The staff, both male and female, were friendly and pleasant. The flight was fine, a little late, but not the fault of the airline. I would fly this airline again.
It was barely two hours and that kept me from having to go to a Malaysian hospital.
Having Multiple Sclerosis & extreme neuropathy plus being postop with two major abdominal surgeries just weeks before, I called customer service and they guaranteed my medical needs would be met at the gate. They were not and not having a bulkhead seat on the first 2 hour leg from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur caused me massive pain and circulatory issues - in spite of surgical note requiring it. Not good assistance over phone or in Bangkok.
