Cons: "It costs more to check a bag than it does to book a ticket, this airline is a rip off"
Pros: "The crew was eventually accommodating. I am pregnant and asked if I could stretch out on the empty row behind us. However, it was an emergency row and no, we weren't allowed. Eventually, they offered me a seat with an empty seat next to it. The other passenger in the row wasn't very happy with me sitting there. One of the stewards offered me the back row to stretch out. There was no one sitting there. I don't know why that wasn't one the first options. But I'm thankful that I was able to lay down and sleep."
Cons: "The cabin is very crowded. No food or drinks are provided so be prepared to pay or bring your own."
Pros: "Crew are polite"
Cons: "No more delayed"
Pros: "For a budget airline, it's good. The plane is clean and the seats themselves are pretty comfortable."
Cons: "They have an extreme lack of communication with their ticketed passengers in terms of flight delays and boarding procedure."
Pros: "Sue to delyaed flights by Thai airways, they didnt accomodate me even for another flight booked y them"
Pros: "Cabin Crew are helpful and friendly"
Cons: "Airasia always delay"
Cons: "We tried to get on earlier flight and we had to buy a new ticket in full fair. That can be accepted although there were plenty of seats. But at that time the lady on the counter knew that there is a 2hr delay and she did not announced this fact. Our original flight was delayed twice even though the company new that the first delay is not realistic. Not a reliable airline !!!"
Pros: "On time speedy boarding food always good rice chicken curry."
Pros: "Flight attendants are well dressed and friendly"
Cons: "My friend and I bought Luang Prabang to Siem Reap tickets with a change in Bangkok. We had both printed our boarding passes and had only carryon bags. They wouldn’t check us in thru to Siem Reap when we were in Luang Prabang, so when we tried to go through transit in Bangkok, the Air Asia agents sent us back to enter Thailand. We had to go through passport control, go up to arrivals and wait in the huge, chaotic lines ( why does AA always have chaotic limes?) and check in again. We then had to go back through immigration and security inspections. Even the immigration and exit officials were questioning why we didn’t go in transit! Took us two hours and lots of extra walking. I only fly Air Asia when I have to, and always think they will have gotten better, but they never do."
Pros: "Boarding was appropriate and by zones and respected."
Cons: "Flight was delayed"
Cons: "I always use Kayak to book an international flight Chiang Mai to Denpasar, with my luggage checked through. But this time I went to International in Chiang Mai to check in and found that you had bungled the booking. You booked me Chaing Mai to Bangkok on a DOMESTIC flight, and expected me to get onto the next leg, International, Bangkok to Denpasar, in 2 hours. You left me only 2 hours to disembark in Bangkok, get luggage at the Domestic carousel, go through customs, take luggage to the Check In counter in the International, get boarding pass, go through customs and security. Then race to the boarding gate for my INTERNATIONAL flight to Denpasar. What a trauma. The International Air Asia check in was mobbed!! I only made it in time because staff at the check in found me by chance and put me to the front of the line. I won't use Kayak again, after using you for 15 years. You have a nerve selling such a ticket."
Pros: "I got really lucky and got an entire row to myself so I had a great flight. The flight basically left on time and they didn’t lose my luggage so I’d say it was a successful flight."
Cons: "You don’t get free food or drink, which can be frustrating if you don’t know that before you board. They also changed the gate right before the flight was suppose to board which was stressful, but that could’ve been the airport’s fault."
Pros: "On time departure. Budget flight and you get what you pay for. Would happily recommend and use again."
Cons: "Legroom best described as cosy.On time departure. Budget flight and you get what you pay for. Would happily recommend and use again."
Pros: "Great service, good flight."
Cons: "Seats could be comfy. Hot seats could use some pillows."
Pros: "Good seats. Great service."
Cons: "It’s a budget flight. So comes with limited options. However you still get what you pay for."
Pros: "THe flight was slightly delayed, but nothing to speak of."
Pros: "The plane didn't crash"
Cons: "So far 2 out of 3 flights were delayed, the luggage was lost and no one could figure out where I can go to find it, the seats super uncomfortable, the flight attendant ignored me every time because I was sitting at the window seat"
Pros: "Good, orderly boarding procedure. Friendly and efficient air stewards and stewardess."
Cons: "needs more check in kiosks at PEN airport, aircraft seats quite narrow and not much leg room"
Pros: "All went well good directions at airport"
Cons: "Air aisia check in terminal 2 not 1"
Pros: "Short flight, cheap, efficient"
Cons: "lack of room on plane, ground check in staff not very helpful at Surat Thani Airport"
Pros: "I got there"
Cons: "No food. No drink. Whole focus of staff was on selling"
Cons: "Charged me nearly the cost of the flight ticket to check a baggage even though I had already purchased bag check via kayak. Not happy at all. Fellow travelers paid substantially less not to mention the amount of empty seats / overhead space I could have used for my bag. Completely ridiculous."
Pros: "Boarding time was accurate ."
Cons: "One of the crew member was very hard and never smile at all, and not polite also."
Pros: "One go crew members was very roude and her face very hard , never smile at all."
Pros: "THE LEATHER SEATING."
Cons: "NOT MUCH CABIN SPACE.....HAD TO SQUEEZE MY BAG IN BECAUSE EVERYONE HAD LEFT ME VERY LITTLE ROOM."
Pros: "Good quick and courteous service. As long as you know you get what you pay for. 2 bags carry on max of 7kg combined is tight. Rates are cheap and crowds queue up way before normal but good for the price."
Pros: "Really a pleasant flight experience! The cabin crews are delightful!"
Cons: "The Air Asia Penang self baggage drop was chaotic and utterly disorganized. Despite the long line, travelers with closer flight departures were given the priority to cut queue."
Cons: "That I had to pay to check my bag.i haven't had to check my bag once my entire trip and they refused to give me my boarding pass until I paid and checked my bag .it was terrible and unprofessional and I haven't had a problem until I got on this flight"
Pros: "Seats were comfortable enough for a domestic flight."
Cons: "I realize that the crew is just doing their job but AirAsia in general has pretty backwards policies in comparison to most airlines. The crew will come by and ensure your device is in airplane mode. I even had one member on an extremely empty flight wake me up mid-flight, and ask me to show that I had my seatbelt on (I had a blanket on). About two minutes later, the seatbelt sign was off again. I realize there's no reason to be frustrated with a crew as they're just doing their job, but the airline as a whole is a little archaic and very strict."
Pros: "Check in and boarding very efficient and both flights went and arrived on schedule."
Cons: "Least amount of leg room of any flight I have ever take. Being over 6 feet tall it was very uncomfortable with absolutely no room for my legs. Also no free meal or beverage service of any kind. You had to purchase food from the flight attendant crew if you wanted anything. First time I have ever been on flight where they did not offer at least free beverage service. You even had to purchase water from them. Would have been nice if they made announcement advising so you could at least bring your own. Obviously no entertainment system on aircraft."
Cons: "We used flightnetwork through kayak. During purchase there was nothing saying check in bags weren't included. It's an international flight! After reading the confirmation email also saw nothing about it, only some ambiguous message about checking with the airline. THIS IS IMPORTANT! WHY WOULD YOU NOT MENTION IT AT SOME POINT. If I need to go to the airline to "check" that YOU didn't forget to tell me something then what the hell is the point of using your service?! I had to pay 144 dollars, more than a single ticket!"
Pros: "Boarded on time, arrived in Bangkok 20 minutes early, no problems getting my bags checked in even though I was late arriving to the airport. You do have to buy luggage allowance beforehand to avoid getting completely gouged though & do it over the phone as their website is almost completely nonfunctional."
Cons: "For a 4+ hour flight they should at least give you water and peanuts instead of either making you buy a meal beforehand (on airasia's website which simply does not work if you are using a mobile phone) or pay extortionate prices ($3 for a teeny bottle of water) on board- I realize it's a budget airline but since they don't let you bring liquids through security passengers have no choice but to pay these ridiculous prices if we don't want to completely dehydrate."
Pros: "Good crew and efficient service"
Cons: "Flight was 80 minutes late due to delay on incoming aircraft."
Pros: "The initial cost"
Cons: "First, there is no entertainment system at all. Second, even though airlines like Qantas have shown that there is no reason to turn electronic devices off before, during and after flights, AirAsia won't even allow you to have your device in flight mode. So backward! Also, you'll find that their website is not easy to deal with and they will nickel-and-dime you for everything."
Cons: "Luggage fee for less than 20kg for one way is more than the ticket itself? How rediculous!"
Cons: "There were many additional charges for luggages. The most annoying thing for me is their seat assignments. For couples who bought tickets together, seats were assigned at different locations even though the flights were not full. This happened on all four flight segments for us. And it was not just to us. It happened to many other people on our flights. When I asked at the check-in counter at Singapore airport to change the seat assignments, the agent lied to me that there are no other seats available. In reality, there were many empty seats on all our flight segments."
Pros: "I booked 2 seats together by the window, and instead got two aisle seats. They would not reseat us at check in even though there was plenty of room on the flight. Mediocre food."
Pros: "The crew was efficient for getting everyone settle and take off in no time!"
Cons: "Need to change the carry on bag to 15 kg! 7 kg is not efficient!!"
Pros: "The staff were friendly and polite."
Cons: "There was a slight delay."
Pros: "The crew were very efficient and friendly."
Cons: "There was an hours delay before boarding. We could see that the aircraft hadn't arrived so worked out that it was due to a late arrival. There were no announcements why it was delayed. I can appreciate that there is a tight schedule with delays being inevitable, however the lack of updates is what actually let the airline down."
Pros: "Smooth flight"
Cons: "Everything went smoothly except boardingeverything went as planned except the boarding process is a bit strange and confusing not many people knew exactly what to tell us where to go in order to board a flight. We were then taken to a different gate locked up escalators only two exit another gate everything went as planned except the boarding process is a bit strange and confusing. Not many people knew exactly what to tell us where to go in order to board a flight. We were then put one of us take it to a different gate locked up escalators only two exit another gate"
Cons: "I was charged $100 for a 15kg piece of luggage because I did not know I was supposed to buy it online. It should have been $5! Total ripoff. Then I tried to buy it on my 2nd flight and the website was broken. I will not fly AA again"
Cons: "They were given passport and confirmation number The manager then insisted that I did not pay for baggage. Charged me a counter rate which was twice normal. When handed boarding pass it was for wrong person. They had not checked passport and confirmation number. Once checked they found out that I had paid for baggage. Refused to credit back my credit card and said it would take 6 weeks for a refund. They delayed our boarding and even after realizing their mistake they appeared utterly confused. Service personnel and especially the manager are totally incompetent. I would avoid this airline if at all possible."
Cons: "I thought I saved money purchasing with AirAsia until they charged me $240 for 26kg luggage at the airport counter. This did not include the price of the ticket which I prepaid online. The person behind the counter was very rude about it as well. This also happened to the flyer in front of me in line for luggage that was 18kg. He was very upset as well. Neither of us had prior knowledge that the oversize baggage fee was extremely extremely overpriced. I met another frequent traveler on the plane that said because of the service at the counter and on the plane he would never travel with AirAsia again."
Pros: "Wish the on-board staff were also on American and European carriers"
Cons: "They charged me some $35 for one suitcase, i.e. double fee b/c I did not check it in via Internet! They do not realize that in certain countries Internet signal can be weak. I tried several times to access their site but to no avail. They should also have allowed me to check in my luggage for return trip when I checked in the first time."
Cons: "They charged me USD 36 to check in one bag up to 15kg, although it clearly stated on their website that my flight from Ho Chi Minh to Bangkok would cost USD 18 up to 20kg. After arguing with the manager, and then having to call AirAsia Thailand, I realized they were both incompetent and rude. Kayak never allowed the option to pay for baggage when I booked the flight, and AirAsia didn't believe me and wouldn't even respect their online fee chart. I will never fly AirAsia again, and I will also dispute the charge with my credit card company, as it is unprofessional if not illegal."
Pros: "My grandmother was 82, the boarding crew went above and beyond to help her with wheelchair. I'm most grateful for because the terminal was very far."
Cons: "Too much advancement. Everything needs to be pre-booked, pre-check in, pre-order. I wished they told us discounted rate and if we have check in, we need to pre-buy the check in"
Cons: "They tried to make me pay almost 400 Canadian dollars for my 20 kg bag! I ended up still having to pay 87 Canadian but because it was unexpected it was unimpressive to say the least. Then once on board they won't even give you water or anything!!! What a joke. Not what we are used to in Canada."
Pros: "Great fare."
Cons: "A woman checked us in at DMK, flying to Phuket. She was poor at customer service and very unfriendly. I asked to borrow a scissor to cut a tie strap so that I can adjust the weight of my bags. Knowing it's a waste of her time she hid the scissor underneath a piece of paper and answered me that she didn't have one. I pointed it to her, she claimed that it wasn't hers. Long story short, I demanded another agent for help."
