Cons: "We had a 6 hour layover in Mumbai before 1:30am flight. They took us to a secured zone next to the boarding gate around 12:30am. The flight was delayed - no announcement, no water, no toilet facilities in that zone. Including kids and aged people -everyone in distress and Air India had no concern. Flight took off two hours late and not even some drink was offered. Very poor quality food. I called crew members for some help and they didn't show up. In the recess area also no food or drink was kept. We were kept hungry, thirsty and dissatisfied. Can't be worse than this."

Cons: "At first, Air India checked our bags and made us wait for approx 4 hours in airport saying flight delayed and later after 4 hours said flight is cancelled and told everyone to go back home and come back next day to their office that is located away from the airport to rebook the ticket and they did not offer to refund the ticket. They never gave us our bags until after 8 hours something. They never cared of anyone for the entire 12 hours while we were in the airport. We had to spend our money to eat during the 12 hours time spend waiting and ended up booking a hotel room and buy another ticket from a different airline as Air India said they will not be sending us to the next flight as that is for the new passesngers only. Unbelievable experience. We had several stuff tied up to do once we arrive and we went through a nightmare to figure out several items. We did not have phones to communicate and had to go through hell to find a phone to talk with our kids who spend lot of time buying us the hotel room and air tickets for the next day on a different available airline."

He helped us get seats in the same row as 3 from my family were travelling together. Overall flight was neat and comfortable. Food was excellent."

Cons: "The boarding from Heathrow to EWR was confusing-- the monitor said "Boarding" two hours before the flight, which caused a lot of confusion for passengers. The airline was boarding a certain class of passenger, but there were no announcements to inform other passengers that they weren't doing general boarding at the time. The touch screens on the back of the seats are annoying (especially on a 7-hour flight) to the passenger in front, as they can feel the constant tapping through the seat."

Seats do not recline fully some one needs to do a preflight check."

Cons: "The luggage check in process was a mess. We were directed to a particular line to complete the check in. As we were standing in the line, 4 out 6 agents closed down and went elsewhere, leaving everyone in the line to check in with remaining 2 agents there. An old couple were there as well, who moved from one counter to the next, to the next, and they were then told to come back in the line! Two of us were traveling together, and presented our tickets together, but we were given seats far away. I requested them for adjacent seats and they said that none were available. I insisted and stayed at the counter, and immediately, the agent found 2 adjacent seats, going on to show that she did not even look for it the first time. The seats have poor cushion. I needed to use multiple pillows to provide cushion for sitting and for back support. The food was average. For some reason, they make the curry extremely spicy, as a result of which many of the passengers find it difficult to eat. The inconsistency of the entertainment unit in AI flights is well known. In many flights, in many rows, it does not work, immaterial of the number of times they reset it. Fortunately for us, this time, the unit was working fine in both our seats. That was not the case during our to-journey."

Pros: "Flight crew was attentive and served well in such as short flight. Likely food service is not suggested for such short flight. Save money on food and be more creative to serve passengers. I took Air India after a long while, as I got used to Emirates and Ethiad serving my home town Ahmadabad directly from SFO. This time I opted for Air India due to electronic ban on other flights. I paid attention to service by Air India, and I liked their service; they served with grace and attentive to passenger's needs."
Cons: "Food can be better served with a change in caterer who takes pride not just filling order old style, salad needs be taken out if it can not be preserved. Look for a better caterer. Let's look for a better menu. Don't just serve food because you have to. More needs to be explored if this is one necessary evil we need to provide for a short flight of one hour."

Cons: "For one, our flight was cancelled. This was after a three hour wait on the plane, a night in a hotel, and an entire day wasted trying to get a new flight. Air India told me they were legally obligated to get me to my final destination but only got me as far as the first stop where I spent a night in the airport and bought a new flight on my own dime. I've been in this situation before with other airlines and I was ALWAYS taken care of. I am a young girl and I don't have much money after spending it ALL on MULTIPLE flights home. I travel often and I can take care of myself, but this was a stressful and frightening experience. If it weren't for family I wouldn't be home. Will be fighting for every penny owed to me and everyone who helped me get home."

Cons: "The interior of the plane looks 12 years old even though it's only 3-4. I was expecting a wonderful experience flying the 787 for the first time. But, the business class interior was dirty, scratched with worn carpet, scuffed seats. It looked like the plane had been in service for 10 years! I fly about Asia on all types of airlines from Cathay Pacific to Burmese ATR domestic carriers and its been years since I've seen an aircraft interior so shop worn and thread bare. The food was pretty bad as well. Cold eggs, soggy breads. Maybe the Indian vegetarian options would have been better. If you are thinking ability this or say Cathay Pacific in economy for the same price. The only advantage Air India has is bigger seats in business than Cathay economy. Good luck Air India!"
