Experience in IAD could have been lot better. IAD is one of the worst airport ik n terms of service. Chennai is also equally worst with too many bureacracies.

Good array of entertainment on offer but our flight was a 'sleeper' so after a fumble with the controls and the limited new releases, I opted to read instead. Seats are comfy and spacious, much wider than Emirates in the same class (who offer only an extra 1/2 inch width over economy). Amenity kit a quality piece that is both practical and useful."

Pros: "This review is for return travel from ATL to MAA (Chennai, India) and back. Route: ATL-DOH: about 14.5 hrs; DOH-MAA: about 4.5 hrs; Likes: 1. Baggage check-in process was simple and easy. 2. Meal preferences was good - I'm a vegetarian and on the onward journey forgot to specify the meal preference but the crew had enough inventory to meat the requirements. 3. Every seat was provided with a small plastic pouch/packet/goodie bag that consisted of a eye mask (very thoughtful), pair of sock, toothpaste+brush (very thoughtful), hand cream. This was very useful and effective. 4. Entertainment - options were good and current."
Cons: "Dislikes: 1. Online check-in wasnt easy; towards the end of the process, there is an option to email the boarding pass but this never worked. Not sure if this is something to do with the browser (tried with Firefox, Opera) 2. It would have been good, as part of the online check-in, if the users reminded to specify the meal preferences, etc. I forgot to specify the meal preferences but thankfully the crew had enough of what I wanted. 3. Take a relook at the packaging of the toothpaste tube in the goodie bag. It was sealed in such a way that it was difficult to open it w/o a sharp object. This should have been easier. 4. Seats were the worst part - poor legroom. Worst, the seat cushion is the worst. I think it was just a fabric over a metal seat with minimalist of cushion. ATL to DOH leg was the worst (and the longest leg of the trip). Unless you have open seats next to you it would be a back breaking and painful trip. Seat comfort wise, I would rate Qatar as the worst. Luckily on the return leg (DOH-ATL) next two seats to mine was empty, so was able to stretch and sleep well. DOH-MAA or MAA-DOH seating was little better (think its a older plane; newer planes have worst seats) 5. The website was damn slow while accessing from overseas. Even in the US, at times the website hangs-up, freezes or spins often. 6. Food was ok -dinner and lunch but minimalistic; I didnt see any specific breakfast menu or any coffee served separately (was part of beverage option during lunch or dinner) 7. There was no alert, communication, notification, reminder of upcoming trip via email or text, etc. Many airlines does this very often but Qatar was totally silent on it (they did have my email during checkin). Not sure why."

I reached for the remote located in the armrest only to find the entire piece missing. Only the base was there. I asked the flight attendents three times if I can move to an empty seat and they said "give me a moment". The moment never came. I really expected more from this airline."

Seems to be a pattern with Malaysian Airways and I will avoid them in the future, Also, I left my Ipad plugged in at the Premier Lounge in Denpasar and realized it as I was boarding the plane. The Malaysian Air boarding staff got on radios and appeared to try to help by telling them to put aside for pick up upon my return. Yesterday, The Premiere lounge said they did not have it despite my name, email and phone number being written on the Ipad. Between Malaysian Air and the Lounge and their lack of concern and professionalism it was not a good trip. As One World Emerald member, I steer a lot of business towards these One World Airlines. I expect better treatment."

We were told to check in online and add baggage at least two days before flying to avoid excessive baggage fees. So we paid them the first time, no problem. But AirAsias website is clearly coded by bricks with fingers. Because 6,5,4, and 3 days prior, it says such service is unavailable. Okay, we’ll do it at the airport then, it’ll be nice and easy just like at Changi. Only at this crappy subpar excuse for an airport, they live by no rules and want to charge $300USD - more than double what was charged at Changi - for two 20kg bags. 20kg, which my boarding pass and my booking both say we are entitled to, is suddenly 5kg in excess, so they want to screw your American wallet hard, long, and good because even if you had a good time, chances are you will never pass through the half baked gas station that is Langkawi again. Oh yeah and don’t bother paying for the WiFi - they get you good there too - 10mb which is basically a couple jpegs but you won’t get squat anyway. Literally nothing, and then suddenly your puny 10mb has disappeared, along with your money and what’s left of AirAsias credibility."

Cons: "Ground check in crew at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (Azureen) was damn rude. I'm appalled with her customer service level. Rude and not helping at all. Worst Airport staff I've met so far."

Cons: "-fee to check bags -changed gate without updating status board and delayed boarding -though none could be found, cabin smelt like vomit -no food included, charged money for water. Yes, water. -constant (and unnecessary) updates on PA system -often attempted to sell AirAsia branded paraphernalia during flight while everyone was trying to sleep -sprayed an unknown substance into the cabin to "sanitize" just before we landed (insecticide?!). We were given a warning literally 10 seconds before they sprayed it."

Cons: "I was charged over $200 for luggage overweight because I did not purchase it at time of booking. That's disgraceful. They should make it clear for people outside Asia who are not familiar with their policies what they should do to avoid these charges Jackie"

Cons: "Asked for an aisle seat was ignored and given the worst seat last row middle seat not enough legroom to have my knees in front of me I'm 5'7 and my seat doesn't go back so the personI fro t of me reclines so I'm forced to rest my head against this jerk because there's nowhere else for it to go. No entertainment everything costs extra and they even tried to say you couldn't bring any of your own food/drink on board. Worst flight ever."

Cons: "When researching flights, I really wish AirAsia's procedures were spelled out. Having to pay for each checked bag and each kg over a relatively low allowance was extremely annoying. Even worse, each leg of the flight (due to a layover) required payment. In addition, paying for the seat, paying for peanuts and water?? Probably the worst was the air crew refusing to give a blanket to my freezing fiance without purchasing the pillow, blanket and eye mask bundle. Seriously?? Then towards the end of the flight, the crew walk the aisles holding alcohol and perfume trying to peddle their duty-free products on the plane itself. It was quite evident by this point that the competitve ticket price is a hoax, and all that they are interested in is getting as much money from you as possible. Unless I have no choice, I will never fly this airline again. Please, warn people of these practices BEFORE they purchase the tickets!!"

Cons: "The crew didnt do much to enforce seat belt regulations. Half the passengers were up after landing with their bags in the aisle."
Pros: "Overall not bad the flight left on time and was a good flight."
Cons: "Please be forewarned, pay for your bags ahead of time if you can figure out how. We had a short flight from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and had not paid for our bags. It ended up costing us more for two bags than the flight for the both of us. For that reason alone I would probably not fly with them again unless it was the only option."

Can't get ANYTHING to eat or drink without paying in local currency cash, not even water. Seats squished together and really uncomfortable. Baggage takes a long time to come out. Poor wayfinding at Kuala Lumpur Airport."
Cons: "Air Asia not only charged me for luggage at check-in, but charged me TWICE for the same piece of luggage, stating that since I was flying "two segments" they had to charge me two times, though my luggage and I were going to one destination (with a layover in between). Never again will I fly this airline."
