Pros: "At least it was delayed so we could make it to SFO."
Cons: "The American Airlines flight was delayed so the delayed flight from Honolulu could make it to Los Angeles and not subject AA to additional complaints. We arrived at close to midnight and worried about getting the car out of the parking lot without incurring additional charges of and additional day. The food was not great."

Pros: "JAL lounge at Haneda was the best I've ever been in. The Business Class configuration is terrific -- as private as can be on an airplane, without going First. And the JAL staff, on the ground as well as in the air, are Grade A diplomats, counselors, and -- in a word -- professionals. Which is sorely lacking in US air carriers, who don't seem to understand that air travel is a service industry, and to excel in a service industry, PEOPLE are most important to the customers. Specifically, having enough people: US airline employees are well-trained professionals too, but "corporate" consistently under-hires/deploys, which leaves employees juggling far too much at once, which degrades the service experience for the customer. Yeah, I get "the bottom line," but service industry customers will always go to businesses that offer better service. Ok, rant over. JAL is tops."

The selection of films offered was demoralizingly poor, and the seatback pockets afforded even less storage space than usual."

The crew was totally incompetent in informing waiting passengers. No microphones. No digital display of boarding order. No staff assistance. Waiting for WAY too long with no explanation. It was perfectly awful. Food was eatable but completely tasteless. Not nearly enough liquid distribution."

They did not send enough buses so we waited on the hot outside stairs for about 15 minutes. It took us a full 45+ minutes from landing to get to the actual terminal. We were grateful we had a long layover or we would not have made our connecting flight!"

I was told I can only take one bag. This caused me to change my plans on what I can carry on my two small bags. This is also the reason why had to take a small handbag to keep everything I needed. I lost this bag at New Delhi airport. Had I been allowed the the standard tote and a laptop bag I may not have needed the extra hand bag and may not have lost my items. Emirates associate is partailly responsible for my lost items."

Cons: "I had a terrible experience on my flight from BLR to LAX on 12/30/2016. My flight from BLR was delayed for 3 hours because of fog. I had a connection flight from Dubai at 3:15 pm the same day and I was going to miss it. I had a flight from LAX to SFO(I had booked this separately via a domestic airlines) on the 31st at 10 am. The ground staff at BLR told me that they would put me on the 8:30 am flight to LAX on 31st. That would mean more than a 12 hour wait at Dubai airport and they informed me that accommodation would be provided. Based on this I rebooked my LAX to SFO(I paid extra for this) for the next day. On reaching Dubai I was told that I will be put on the 3:30 pm flight on 31st instead of the 8:30 am flight. That would mean a 20 hour wait at the airport. I was also given a SINGLE food voucher and told that no hotel accommodation would be provided. I was also going to miss the LAX to SFO flight which I had rebooked. I requested the ground staff to try and put me on a direct flight to SFO instead. After begging them for a while they put me on a stand by status on the 7:30 am flight the next day. I spent 12 hours in the airport. That flight was further delayed by 3 hours. When my husband contacted the customer service on 31st morning, they told him that accommodation would be provided and sent me an email confirming that. This was in the morning after I had spent 12 hours in the airport. If accommodation was available why was I told by the ground staff that all rooms were full? I also saw them hand out hotel vouchers to other passengers with shorter wait times than mine. Was it based on their nationality(I sincerely hope not but the reviews I am reading of Emirates online suggest otherwise). Fog and other weather conditions are completely understandable but the discriminatory behaviour of the ground staff in Dubai was really disappointing. This new year weekend was my honeymoon and it was completely ruined because of this trip."

Pros: "We started with a 45 min wait on the tarmac before takeoff. Then spent 14h listening to screaming children. Now, I know that isn't the airlines fault, but it would be nice to see where children are sitting when booking on such a long flight! Once we landed, the girl next to me got sick and when I flagged a flight attendant, she simply told me there's a barf bag in the seat pocket - there wasn't - so I had to part the crowd to get that lady to a bathroom. Then it took 45 min to get off the plane! The food was okay and there was plenty to watch (couldn't read due to screaming children). It was a really rough flight."

However flight design is little awkward that it squeezed me, wife and our baby in bassinet seat. - We had opted for Asian veg food and was very tasty and was served hot all the time. - Many restrooms - Travel accessories - Great entertainment options."

Pros: "The vegan meals were very good and tasty. I enjoyed the entertainment provided and the plane was very clean. At times the plane was very cold, however the blanket helped with that. It wasn't this flight but the flight from Tanzania to Dubai, the crew sprayed the plane and I would like to know what was sprayed as it was awful and what if any chemicals were sprayed on us. Perhaps it would be better to spray the plane before the passengers board the plane."
Cons: "There was only one flight attendant would didn't assist my friend when we asked her to please take my friend's food tray away. My friend Emily Bayne was having a major discomforting eye allergy attack. Emily eyes were burning, dry, turning red, and very itchy and she wanted to go to the bath room to run warms water over her eyes, however she had the food tray and so we push the attendant help button. But when the flight attendant came to see what we needed and we asked if she could please take Emily's food tray, she just said I will come back later for that. So I told Emily just go to the bathroom I will hold your food tray. Emily Bayne was seated in the middle and I had the aisle seat, 44H. While Emily was in the bathroom I complained to another flight attendant what had happened, she took our food trays and then told her supervisor what happened. The supervisor came shortly and assisted Emily by granting her request and providing her with two warm wet towels, and later 5 more. The supervisor and the other attendant that I complained to continue to check throughout the fljght to see if Emily needed anything else, which was nice and accommodating. The flight after that incident was good, as the supervisor immediately corrected the insensitive act of his flight attendant."

Walked on the plane asked crew how they were and got less than good reply. In flight woman never smiled, overall crew seemed tired and as though they did not want to be there. Perhaps SFO based crew on way home? Tired from flight over to Dubai? But it was really noticeable and a real difference from the flight over to Dubai from SFO 2 weeks earlier."

Cons: "Seat selection is very constrained 48 hours before journey, even for passengers booked together on same ticket. Would strongly recommend that automatic default seating selection for passengers booked on the same ticket should be for all of them to be seated together, right from the time the ticket is paid for rather than having to individually select where each passenger sits."

Cons: "We arrived onetime yet Emirates did not have a gate at SFO so we were parked on the tarmac for over an hour after a 16 hours flight. When we got thru immigration in record time due to the newly installed kiosks, we waited for 2.5hours to get our luggage, there was only one carousel open for an entire A380 airplane with all its luggage and the boxes were piling up on each other, some of them were crushed due to overloading, it took them 2 hours to open a second carousel to offload all of the bags. During this entire time, the Emirates representatives were unhelpful, the local SFO personnel were quite disorganized as well."

Cons: "1. I joined at Bangalore. The staff worked strictly according to the rules. While this is good it lends itself to passenger discomfort at times. Example: I had only 1 suitcase of 45 pounds, and I had a hand baggage of 13.7 kgs, because I was carrying all my precious crystalware back to Houston. The attendant kept insisting I lighten the hand baggage to les than 7 kgs. Finally he even suggested I send the hand baggage as checked luggage. He must be insane! I had a few thousand dollars worth of crystal in that hand bag and there was no way I'd send as checked luggage. Finally, I lightened the load to 10 kgs and called his manager and I was allowed to carry the hand luggage. 2. On landing at Dubai, everything unraveled. The airport was full of thousands of stranded passengers because 18 hours ago a plane had crash-landed at the tarmac causing flight cancellations. Obviously Emirates was poorly prepared for handling this this emergency. Many of the passengers, including myself, ended up standing at the customer service counters (there were about 10 customer service stations all over the airport), and every customer station had about 500 irate passengers and 3 or 4 agents handling them. Not only that, the customers were standing in stuffy atmosphere, no fod no water for hours, many mothers were desperate with children. Emirates had no idea how to handle this situation. I caught hold of a senior police official and told him that the least he could do was to give the customers some bottled water to keep them hydrated. Within minutes, in typical Arab hospitality - many cases of bottled water showed up, followed by cupcakes and then Mango Frootis. This helped to calm the passengers down. Then there was the chaos of everyone crowding the service desk. No lines, no semblance of order. After discussion with the policeman, we installed barriers for that passengers would stand single file. One thing that was very wrong and out of our control was there were only 3, sometimes 4, persons behind the desk, attending to more than 500 stranded passengers at each station. I reckon we would need at least 20 or 30 staff at each station. I noted that at each customer depot there were at least 10 computer stations at our service station, but only 3 were manned. Also, there was no one to advise the passengers on their status, what arrangements were being made, what the status update of the situation was...... nothing. We just stood in a bunch at the customer service desk and hoped for some attention. Appalling. Emirates needs to beef up their crisis management strategies. As a Crisis Manager myself, I was appalled to see how poor their capability to respond to a crisis situation was. I have many ideas based on my experience in crisis management. If you want suggestions call me. Besides this crisis, Emirates has always been a very good airline to me. Their everyday service is impeccable and a treat to experience. Cons: "I was on a long business trip heading back from India. The flight was delayed leaving India which would have made me miss my connection in London to Phx. Fortunately the flight from London to Phx was delayed (because it was delayed arriving into London) and I was able to make my connection. Especially when we had to take a bus from the plane to the terminal, there is no way I would have made my connection. While I know there are reasons for the delays, it is frustrating. After a long week of traveling and 21 hours of flying- ones patience does run out."

Pros: "The crew serving the plane didn't look like they wanted to be there. Somewhat abrasive. The entertainment was poor and not very easy to access through your mobile, Iphone and Ipad. If you want to provide a better customer experience, equip all your planes with seats video screens. Passengers on a 4 to 5 hours flight don't want to have to figure out what do to watch a movie or TV. I don't fly American that often, but wanted to give it a try to see the difference between you and the other airlines. I have to say that on the return segment (ORD to SFO), I was not that impressed."

But the gate experience was horrible and the legroom, had it been a full flight, was miserable. I'm in search of an airline with a humane approach."

As the connecting time was around 2 hrs , I had to rush to board the next flight. And after all this drama where I rushed and ran through ,crossing the domestic airport ; there was a long queue for general security check. I ran to the immigration , rushed through the security check. And finally reached the gate. I forgot , I am pregnant ! I was told there , I will have to shift to another seat due to "emergency" exchange reason ! Oh gosh ! I felt , I deserve a round of applause for making it there and I was offered an exchange ! It's unbelievable, but the flight got delayed by 3 hours! Yes, you read it right , by three hours ! The crew members were not that prompt and welcoming ! The flight toilets weren't sufficiently equipped with the necessities. They was no hot water flowing through many taps, seat-covers were missing, even the basic toiletries were."

Cons: "The USB Charging point was not functioning. The display of a seat in my row was not functioning"

Pros: "Flight staff were very accomodative"
Cons: "Overall management of Air india, handling of 300+ passengers when the flight is scheduled for next day, should have been better. Cancellations happen, but they made us wait till 2:00AM to put into a hotel.. when they knew about reschedule around 4:00PM. the Contracting agency who handles Air india in JFK are the worst. They dont care about Air india reputation."

Pros: "The food was ok."
Cons: "None of the entertainment units in my row were working so I had no movies, music, games, maps,or anything for over 16 hours. To make it worse, the screen's would not even turn off, so there was constant light as the computer cycled through some failed start-up sequence. It was horrible because I just wanted to sleep at that point, but there was a non-functional screen in my face. Also, the flight attendees were nowhere to be found except at scheduled food times and when asked about the entertainment units they offered basically no sympathy or help. Lastly, the overhead reading lights would randomly turn on and off and didn't respond to the controlled. As an Air India frequent flyer, I am very disappointed and don't plan on EVER booking them again and you can be certain I will spread the word via social media. Their 777 plane is so old and run down, hardly anything works and the seats are uncomfortable."

Pros: "The only 2 crew members that made me want to review "Excellent" instead of Poor, were inside the aircraft."
Cons: "Bullshit boarding process that left me furious! I had a family of 5 that all had seats together. I specifically requested for extra leg space chairs as I have someone in my family who is 6'+ and another member who recently had knee replacements and thus needs extra leg space to allow more knee flexibility. My seats were all good to go, and I arrived at the airport 8hrs prior to my flight and was able to check in and print boarding passes. When I was boarding the aircraft, the gentlemen crossed off my families seats and re-wrote them in PEN right at the gate. I told him I did not approve, and he said "it is to make all your members together". I had told him we were already seated together and I did not like him switching my seats last minute. Turns out when I went in the aircraft that my seats were given to other members, and my family was forced to sit in another row. The team in the aircraft called the guy from the gate and asked why this was done. He gave me all sorts of bullshit excuses, none which made sense. He said it is "Impossible" to give me my original seats back. The other issue occurred from SFO-DELHI where the crew was incredibly rude. They would walk away in the middle of someone speaking, and wouldn't stand to listen to the full request."

Pros: "Food"
Cons: "The TV audio did not work at all. Hence TV was not used."

Cons: "My in-seat entertainment system was broken. I also heard similar comments from fellow passenger"

Pros: "Crew was very helpful in general. I did not have any issues, but the passenger in the seat next to me had quite a lot of issues, since it was the first time she was travelling. The crew was very helpful, and in my opinion, they did everything possible to make her comfortable."
Cons: "The luggage check in process was a mess. We were directed to a particular line to complete the check in. As we were standing in the line, 4 out 6 agents closed down and went elsewhere, leaving everyone in the line to check in with remaining 2 agents there. An old couple were there as well, who moved from one counter to the next, to the next, and they were then told to come back in the line! Two of us were traveling together, and presented our tickets together, but we were given seats far away. I requested them for adjacent seats and they said that none were available. I insisted and stayed at the counter, and immediately, the agent found 2 adjacent seats, going on to show that she did not even look for it the first time. The seats have poor cushion. I needed to use multiple pillows to provide cushion for sitting and for back support. The food was average. For some reason, they make the curry extremely spicy, as a result of which many of the passengers find it difficult to eat. The inconsistency of the entertainment unit in AI flights is well known. In many flights, in many rows, it does not work, immaterial of the number of times they reset it. Fortunately for us, this time, the unit was working fine in both our seats. That was not the case during our to-journey."

Pros: "The time of the flight was good."
Cons: "There were many problems I faced in the flight mentioned below:- 1) firstly at the time of boarding the staff changed the seats for me and my wife which we had opted at the time of web check in. 2) After getting into flight I noticed the plane was very old and the seats were broken also. 3) very less movies collection. 4) the touchscreen were not at all working . 5) no charging port , it was broken . Not even USB port was there. 6) very bad food service. They just forgot to serve the drinks and meals at a correct interval of time."

Pros: "Crew served with grace. Your crew is doing whatever they can to serve best, but the poor plane infrastructure, indiscipline and chaotic boarding process is terrible at DEL. This part of the business process requires re-training, enforcement."
Cons: "Toilets did not have toilet seat cover papers, very limited supplies of tissue paper. Paper towels were provided instead of tissue paper and seat cover papers. No wonder these toilets clog so often. It's a long haul flight almost 161/2 hours; should attend this need. Upon inquiry from crew, I came to know that flight services from DEL to SFO does not provide toilet seat covers; while SFO to DEL does? Entertainment system hardly works; three of the entertainment systems at 34 row were not working. Infrastructure seating, cushions are old, suggest updating/refurbishing these for such a long flight. Food menu should be reconsidered, especially bread - I still don't understand why are you serving bread roll with Indian food, mismatch, and also would suggest executive management to make surprise checks on the food quality - hopefully they will understand."

Pros: "Nothing great about this flight. Seats were not clean."
Cons: "Seats are not great Could sure use better maintenance."

Cons: "Not enough food. No tv or in flight entertainment. No wifi"

Pros: "only thing we liked was the flight was direct. thats it"
Cons: "1. food tasted so bad. it wasnt fresh for sure. 2.Service was aweful. Very hard to get help from the employees. wasn't convenient at all. 3. entertainment screen wasn't working well especially the touch screen wasn't very sensitive. 4.booked two tickets with my spouse but got seated totally apart and didn't even try to seat us together. and lot more."

Cons: "rude air hostess food no juice, drinks no alcohol had food poisoning didn't get food on time"

Pros: "my mom said this flight is best ever"

Pros: "Good food which is very unlikely otherwise. Indeed a pleasant flight !"

Cons: "My Tv wasn't working both the times. Which made the 14 hour flight really tough."

Pros: "The only direct flight available from India to the west coast"
Cons: "So many things. Pretty much the entire experience was poor/mediocre. Baggage drop took 45 minutes, even though we had already done web checkin. The food was OK, but very limited options were available. The crew was terrible. They basically did the bare minimum and then just disappeared into their quarters. No crew member was available for any kind of assistance for most of the flight. I asked for a second cup of tea and all I got was a snub. The crew acted as if they were doing us a favor by serving us. Unbelievable! The controls on the entertainment system barely functioned. The selection was mediocre and outdated. The plane overall was not maintained very well. The seats looked dirty. There was no wifi for any other modern amenities on the plane (e.g. power outlets). I basically cannot think of anything positive to say about pathetic Air India. As an Indian, I really wish they would do better."

Pros: "Food, Crew inside the plane!"
Cons: "I was traveling from delhi to sfo with my grandparents and they required wheelchair assistant, it took me about 4 diff. counter to first to just find out where i can find wheelchairs for my family, air india crew at delhi are so rude!!!! they dont help you at all if your in need. It says "no tips please" on their shirts but there still asking you to give them tips but away from the camera so that they wont get caught!!!!! how ridiculus is that? When finally i checked in my luggage and finally found wheelchairs for my grandparents, the 2 men leave my grandparents near boarding gate and take both wheelchairs away!!!! They Said there will be other wheelchairs coming for them to board the plane... So now again i have to find 2 wheelchairs for them to board the plane! So damn stupid!!!!!! Lastly, the crew inside the flight was much more helpful and understanding but delhi crew needs alot of training and manners!"
