Tokyo hotels in Sumida

Pros: The location of this hotel is simply perfect. An easy walk from the train and right next to Skytree! For this reason this will be our regular hotel when we come to Tokyo. The staff were excellent and the room was very large, unlike many Tokyo hotels. The area is lively during the day but then quieter at night.

Pros: Accessibility to shops and train station

Pros: Clean rooms, good views and convenient.

Cons: It is next to sky tree, so you will be surrounded by tourists.

Pros: Good location. Cleans and well equipped. Excellent.

Pros: location is very convenient specially for Narita airport

Cons: room size for 4 people

Pros: Big room size, comfy bed, Skytree can be viewed from room and easy access from both Haneda and Narita airport.

Cons: The breakfast is not so good as other Richmond Hotels. The location is a bit far from the city, you need good knowledge about Tokyo's transportation system.

Pros: Location, staff, kitchen, really nice foot bath, seperate rooms available for shower&dryer but inside room too, lounge area, washer, dryer

Cons: Air conditioning too cold, inconsiderate behaviour (light skin on at midnight and using dryer at midnight in shared space)

Pros: Clean, comfortable, friendly. Location was within around five minutes from station. Staff can help answer questions in basic English and sometimes Chinese. Security camera 24hours. Sometimes can chat with other guests, or have private time. Foot bath wonderful. Relaxing foot bath!

Cons: Helpful if some quiet reading space, away from party drinkers. Usually not a problem though. Sometimes it is bad so people read long in bed instead of lounge. That might be okay but can disturb roommates. In shared sleeping space sometimes people very unaware that others are sharing space. Quiet hours from 9PM needs quiet lights too. Sharers should use only bed lights not bright ceiling lights that shine into eyes, also use hair dryer and shower available in hall shower room rather than one in common dorm space if using at a earlier or later hour, at least during common sleep time for travellers 9PM to 9AM. Bed light is very bright, maybe too bright, so if studying late in bed then a very small battery or book light would be better. One personkept us awake at night a couple nights with her flashing bed light and bright bed light. It was not considerate. Dorm should be for sleeping. Study or chatting should be in lounge. Also if going out and getting very drunk, dormitory guest should consider getting a private room instead or sharing with people they go out with only since noise and smell tends to be so horrible that others get woken up and cannot sleep or even get sick from the drunk people smell. Even one time vomit in shared sink inside dorm is too much. Should stay out and use sink, toilet and shower area in hallway.

Pros: Footbath! Kitchen! Washers! Large Japanese tatami lounge and medium sized eating area. Showers outside shared room space! Location near station and some tourist spots for old town area (good walking required to reach further points but edo museum is near). Friendly staff. Sometimes cultural activities. Very clean.

Cons: Location in very basic district, not in the center though a long walk leads to historical districts and sight-seeing spots. Price-wise it makes up for location. Would like more cultural activities if possible.

Pros: International guests, English speaking staff, footbath, lounge, laundry, kitchen, more. Location nearish to old downtown historic district, museums, places to eat, local grocery, karate dojo, etc

Cons: Dorms are terrible without curtain as guests are often inconsiderate (drunk?) and leave light on all night. Mattress has been either too soft or toohard, too hard being preferable. The guests need to be reminded of dorm situation, that others share the room. Several times same woman kept crunching something in her bed during night, then early morning. Dorms are still too crowded;single beds were much better than bunks. Maybe they need another room for all female. Preferably non drinker, non perfume. Smell was bad.

Pros: Footbath. Clean kitchen. Friendly staff. Location for price. Roomy dorm beds with high ceiling. Family restaurant nearby. Tourist spots very close.

Cons: Staff not available 24/7. Scary person in lounge at 5AM. Not enough available ceramic mug cups for coffee in kitchen. Sink in same room as dormitory beds (better to have sink behind closed doors or discourage sink use in common space when people are sleeping). Terribly inconsiderate noisy use in early morning when others sleeping.

Pros: Kitchen space. Tatami or table option. Clothes washers.

Cons: Bed was damp. Why? Was it sprayed with deodorant?

Pros: Clean comfortable, good location. Other guests mostly pleasant. Lounge area and footbath very comfortable. Some cultural events very fun. Homemade gyoza.

Cons: Very bad problem with small bed light being left on all night and disturbances related to tiny room space, use of sink in middle of the night. It depends on who are the sharers. Maybe considerate, maybe aware...or maybe dont think or care. One rolled around late night them early morning too, making creaking and crunching noises. The other problem is more difficult on the surface but may actually be easy: heavy drinkers smell, maybe casual drinkers. Many more women want female dorm. If another non-drinkers floor was made for ladies dorm space this would make a huge difference. Also people should do makeup and hair spray perfume nail clipping and other toiletries outside of sleeping area. Being woken up by nail clip clip clipping and a wiff of spray wafting down into bed...and even worse nail polish is nt only unpleasant but dangerous. Room must be ventilated, especially for nail polish. Stale alcohol skin and vomit similarly smells.

Pros: Pleasant comfortable almost everywhere (except sleeping area where it was nearly impossible to sleep with inconsiderate sharers). Fantastic lounge for chatting, studying, eating. Good sized kitchen. Very clean, amazing. People do clean up after themselves. Very helpful staff and some of staff are multilingual. All do their best to help.

Cons: Thoughtless roommate with bedlight and roomlight on all night. Hair dryer use at midnight. Banging of doors. Heavy foot walking, Not sleeping in sleeping area bug studying in bed with bright bedlight on and repeated trips to get water and use sink, banginging of toilet door. Could have used lounge to study, other toilet and shower and sink facilities are in hall area. Staff need to remind guests that lounge is available and other showers are available. Dorm is shared space and for sleeping, especially after 9PM.
