Pros: Late checkout on a Sunday afternoon ( we had a late flight.) Good breakfast variety, though no hot food. Great staff, friendly and efficient, no weird attitudes. great location, everything walkable. Easy tram connection to/from airport.

Cons: Got bait and switched. Upon checkin was told that breakfast was included with the prepaid reservation. Great! Upon checkout was informed I owed something like £60 for breakfast. Tried to argue my case but had a train to catch and ended up with a "discount" to £40. Extremely shady. Will let my CC company take care of this.

Cons: Reception staff need much more warmth, smile more and actually treat people as such. Rooms clean bu quite small for price - felt a little cramped at time.

Pros: Location. Friendly Staff. The new bar/restaurant area looks good however the only downside is the seating area near the bar soon filled up and even though there were empty tables on the lower floor level there seemed to be a reluctance to give these to guests who just wanted a drink.
Cons: The reception area is still going through refurbishment which meant long queues soon began to build up when guests began arriving in numbers which was an inconvenience to be honest. No doubt this will be resolved when the work is completed.

Pros: We liked the welcome and all the staff who were friendly and helpful. The room and bed were extremely comfortable, great breakfast and the whole stay was a delight. The hotel is very well placed for getting round Edinburgh. We would highly recommend and would definitely use it again.

Pros: Got a good deal on Kayak. The internet is GREAT, which makes me happy because internet seems to be an ongoing drama all over Europe. Welcome to the 21st century Europe, crawl out of your castles and get online. Breakfast was fine, had some whiskey in the bar as a nightcap. Location was great, fun to walk around the area.

Pros: I was attracted by its remarkable location, less than a minute from the train station. But i was most impressed by the quiet of its rooms. Ask for a quiet room and you will forget you are in the heart of a major city. And the staff are excellent.
