Pros: "I liked the fact that the flight was on schedule in spite of the fact that one passenger seemed to cause a delay on forgetting to locate his passport from his own carry on ! I also liked the content shown on the screens as they juggled my ken a bit! Food was to taste despite the cabin pressure! The cabin crew were just amazing!"

Cons: "Tried to book baggage and seats online for flight from Colombo to Sharjah but website wasn't working, so called their office in Colombo. Was told it was too late to book baggage so would have to pay more than double the regular charge. I explained repeatedly that I had tried to book it but the website was down but the lady on the phone completely ignored what I was saying. She then said I should have called them to report the problem - insinuating that it was somehow my fault that their website wasn't working. Quite an interesting twist on 'customer service' in a service industry company. Nothing in the email I received from them stated what to do should their waist fail; no number to call, no procedure, nothing. I had to take a 1-hour trip into the city to speak to them directly at their office. The lady there I spoke with simply made a few mouse clicks and the problem was solved. This of course begs the question of why that couldn't have been done over the phone. The lady on the phone put me on hold for over 10 minutes, clearly hoping that I would give up and hang up. Air Arabia should fire this person immediately as she has no business being in the customer service industry if she is going to be so insulting to a paying customer. As a member of the company she sheds a horrible and unprofessional light on it."

Had our luggage not been unloaded, as expected, we would have a bit more freedom to move about. My luggage tickets had come off so I had to re-check in in. They then gave me the wrong labels saying i had to check in at internationals. This caused terrible chaos and they did not seem to understand when I tried to explain that going from Bangalore to vasco de gama was domestic. Other than that a pleasant journey."

Cons: "I didn’t like the seats on the airplane. They weren’t leather or smooth at all. Instead, the seats had orange fabric material on top of them that was very old and worn down. Also the blankets appeared to be reused. I received blankets that were opened from the original packaging. I’ve never road on a plane and experienced this level of discomfort in my life. I normally don’t like to leave bad ratings about companies because the staff were very polite and warm welcoming. I just strongly believe that Air India could use some remodeling for their planes. The level of comfortability is a must for me and I am not booking with this airline again because the seats are so old and snaggy. There were actual cotton balls(lint) on the seats, and I had to place magazines on top of the seat, in order to avoid feeling uncomfortable. The seats looked dirty and felt uncomfortable. And the blankets were old. Honestly, I would’ve preferred impolite staff, rather than experiencing discomfort for about 3 hours. I couldn’t wait to get off as I was going to my destination. And I absolutely dreaded the plane ride back as I was coming from my destination. Air India needs leather, or smooth fake leather seats for comfortability. Also, they need brand new unopened blankets to give to their guest, along with plastic cups as well. I hope this helps, and I hope Air India improves on this for the future."

Very inconsiderate and eventually her peers had to take care of that when they actually came to collect cups! -lady announcer could not announce landing properly twice! Cons: "My wife and I along with our 2 yr old son were flying AI 102 from JFK to DEL on 12th Dec 2017. Boarding happened on time at 1 pm EST and that was the last sane thing to have happened. First, there was some problem and flight got delayed, AI staff would not tell us what was going on and kept buying time with one excuse or the other. Soon this stretched to over 3 hours of sitting inside the plane while the plane did not move an inch from the gate. Finally they announced there was some technical problem that required a part replacement and as per the DGCA regulations, passengers would need to deplane. After deplaning, we were given a $10 meal voucher and told to stay close by the AI gate as the replacement part was already on the way and the plan would take off around 6 PM. As time passed, passenger's impatience started growing as AI staff just wouldn't share any concrete information. Suddenly around 6 pm they announced that the replacement part had arrived and engineers were working to fix it and that boarding would now start soon, all this while insisting that passengers stay close to the AI gate as boarding could happen any time. Around 7 PM they started the boarding, little did we know that this was merely an exercise in deception that was never meant to get us on the plane, but rather just meant to herd us to a much smaller hall downstairs with poor air conditioning where people along with their hungry starving babies and crying children could suffocate further. To make matters worse, there was no explanation provided by the AI staff still about what was going on, downstairs staff would say engineers are still working and the staff upstairs that was managing the boarding said they were under instructions from downstairs passengers to board the passengers. After about 45 mins of waiting, passengers finally lost their patience. When several Mom's yelled at the AI staff to provide clear cut information, the staff relented and sent the passengers back upstairs where there was better air conditioning and people could still move around. We were still asked to hang out close to the AI gate lest we miss the boarding that could happen any moment - this was still 8 PM. After another hour of wait, around 9 PM finally we got hold of the AI station manager who informed us that the flight had been cancelled. Upon being asked the next steps, he had no answer and asked us to get back to the departure ticketing terminals where they would provide further information. Long story short, the next 2 hours were AI's shoddiness at it's best. Utter confusion, misinformation from the AI staffers, unruly scenes at JFK that eventually required police to be called in was the order of the day. We finally got into an AI arranged hotel at 1 in the night - no dinner - with the promise of being flown out the next day at 12:30 pm. It's another matter that the flight next day could depart only at 3:30 PM, but we were thankful that at least it did. #NeverFlyingAirIndia"

Cons: "Outrageous Air India policy: after getting a boarding card, it's the passengers responsibility to make it to the boarding gate on time. If you miss a flight due to long lines at Indian passport control and / or security check then, unlike other airlines, Air India won't book on their next available flight as a courtesy. Rather, Air India makes passengers purchase a new ticket. In my case, I managed to reach the gate for my Chicago flight 15 minutes before departure but the gate had closed 5 minutes earlier. Next, Air India insisted I pay $1,400 for a new one way ticket. They said it's my fault that I showed up at the airport 90 minutes before departure instead of "4 hours". So even after getting a boarding card, for Air India it's the passengers' fault if there are long lines at passport control."
