Cons: "Informed the day before via an email from the site that the flight was delayed. Arrived at airport on time, checked in. Once at the gate we all waited to board. Boarding time came and went with no information. Everyone waited. No information was announced and no one was at the gate. After waiting for over an hour with everyone in confusion, boarding was announced. No information, no acknowledgement."
Pros: "Air Austral ok"
Cons: "When your company proposes flight which goes through Thailand, it should be clearly advised that there will be a visa that needs to be bought while going through the Thai immigrations, we spent around 14,000 Thai Bhats while incoming and outgoing. Very dictative country, I will never ever fly again through Thailand with Air Austral, I would prefer paying another Rs.10,000 to emirates and have a better service. The Hifly company that operated the flights from RUN to BKK and back, was a disaster, very uncomfortable and really bad service."

Cons: "Flight delayed over an hour. There was little information passed along within the airport. Boarding/manifest at the gate was a madhouse with no order or flight class boarding. This was surpassed at Reunion by the mobs crowding to get their visas."
Cons: "To learn that the flight was over 3 hours later was a problem for different reasons : - what to do in a airport during 3 hours ? - we arrived in St Denis at 11:10 pm, + luggage time so nobody could come to pick us"

Cons: "Both directions transit/transfer at Reunion/St. Denis was a joke. This is more the fault of the airport than Air Austral. The security facilities are inadequate and slow, staff unfriendly ... consequently the transfer can never be made in time and departure is delayed. After all of that you get back on same aircraft !!! why not leave passengers flying onwards to Johannesburg (Mauritius) on the plane ... as I have experienced with many other airlines."
Pros: "Staff was nice. Worked to make sure we were seated in a way that helped us stay together. Plenty of space. Courteous staff."
Cons: "Flight was delayed leaving Antananarivo. Flight arrived slightly late to Port Louis (Mauritius). Wanted to get food at airport in Reunion as we got to Reunion at 8:25 pm and had left home (to get to airport in Antananarivo at 2:30 pm, were only served a small snack on flight - it was only 1 hour long), but there was no ATM in the terminal and the only place serving food did not accept international credit cards."
Cons: "Arrived 20 - 25 minutes late on connecting flight Air Austral from Johannesburg. But the real problem is transfer at St. Denis - worst ever encountered. There is only one security station in a cramped stuffy area ... staffed by 8 slow, useless and unfriendly people. The technology must be outdated, because although your cabin bag, laptop case etc. is scanned, before scanning every bottle (no matter how small ... even 50ml or 100ml), makeup etc. is manually searched for then taken by hand and scanned in a separate device. Also any duty-free in a sealed pouch is taken, opened, then re-packed in a new IDENTICAL pouch and sealed !!!aaarrrrggggh?? Do this x 100 passengers (all travelling to Port Louis from Johannesburg via Saint Denis) and your Air Austral scheduled 1 hour transfer time is a joke ... with this frustrating process they need 2.5 hours minimum. Coupled with Air Austral late arrival of 20 minutes departed about 80 minutes late. The joke of it is the plane from Saint Denis to Port Louis is the same plane as used for Johannesburg - Saint Denis leg ... so why disembark the 90% passengers going to Port Louis at all ... leave them on the plane and only disembark those few for Saint Denis."
Cons: "Online check-in - boarding pass for 2nd leg Saint-Denis - Port Louis could be issued, but not for 1st leg ?? Boarding - confusing - boarding pass issued stated 14:45 as boarding time when this was in fact scheduled departure time. Plane eventually departed 20 mins late."
Check in and passport and security time’s appalling Not enough staff for the volume of flights departing.
The crew were great as usual. The flight was rescheduled two hours later but delayed by more than an hours to load cargo. The was upsetting because I missed scheduled meetings in Johannesburg.
Though the food was very good ,I think the portions were too big. It was hard to manage everything on that small table. And you really don't feel like eating too much on a long flight. Just a suggestion and it would save you some money too.
Cons: "Apart from beverages with the meal, there was no other offer for any beverage. This is a 4 hour flight. Really uncomfortable"

Cons: "Crew told me to wait while they eat their meal (on a 4.5 hour flight?) headphones get cleared 20min before landing but all the rubbish gets left on your tray table. delayed departure because the plane was being cleaned, i think if they cleared the rubbish in flight then perhaps it wouldn't be so dirty. Also no information provided as to why the boarding was 30min delayed (COMMUNICATION!)"

Cons: "Inflight entertainment could be much better. Not much choice of films, particularly latest ones. Headsets very uncomfortable and sound quality poor."
Cons: "General lack of concern for passengers. The kids in the seats next to me had screens that weren’t working and they wouldn’t even try to fix them. despite the fact that the water was there, when I declined the meal but asked for something to drink they refused until later."

Cons: "Delayed 3hrs with no information just apologies. Toilets onboard not clean and leaking. Several trays broken. Coffe/Tea served by pouring over customers rather than tray with cup. Safety information only shown when landing. Staff bumped isle passengers several times (me 4 times) with no apology. Chaos in serving dinner as special meals and vegetarian meals sent to wrong seats."
Pros: "I sat onseat 8c on this old Airbus 319 and my knees were killing me so little legroom. Im only 1.78m"

Plane is old. Seats are broken. Entertainment does not work. Food is ok. Flight attendants are courteous and try their best. Take this flight if you get the cheapest ticket. Otherwise, look for other carriers.

When I collected my luggage at the baggage terminal, someone in charge of food or luggage had spilled curry sauce ALL OVER my suitcase - I had to throw it away. Many of the in-flight screens didn’t work, and the stewardesses were lazy and inattentive."
Cons: "The remote was not working to use the TV at seat number 43E. We asked the crew staff to check but he never came back. Another thing is Baggage. It has been almost 45 minutes now but our luggage is not on the belt as well as a lot of other passengers."

The flight was delayed by three hours and no one at the at airport was available from Air India to at least tell us when it going to fly.Despite having a business class ticket we were made to stand for three hours and no reason was given for the delay. Pros: "The only thing good about Air India today was that they were on time. As far as Business Class goes, there airplanes needed an update 10 years ago, and I'm still waiting. From Chicago, they are the only non-stop flight to Delhi, so there is little incentive for them to upgrade."
