The staff don't even know the rules and have behaved so dumb while dealing with passenger and have zero knowledge about document checks. Either the airline needs to get them more trained before getting them on the floor or needs to take strict action against them. Because wasting my time at the Mumbai airport was not so entertaining for me and the airline did not even seem apologetic about it. Vistara has hired some really unprofessional and uneducated staff at their Mumbai station."

The plane was so worn out, seat padding, there was was none, as it had seen better days, the covers were no longer covering the seats as the padding had disintegrated somewhere and were just hanging onto the seats for dear life!!!, it felt dirty and unkept, it smelled like an old toilet also. The fittings, trays where you could store your stuff was dirty also I didn't even eat the food, I was paranoid. Felt totally uncomfortable on this flight , sorry Air India but you need to have some standards on short flights despite what price you put on the seats. This was part of my long haul flight from Sydney to Mumbai which has marred my experience with you."

They never gave us our bags until after 8 hours something. They never cared of anyone for the entire 12 hours while we were in the airport. We had to spend our money to eat during the 12 hours time spend waiting and ended up booking a hotel room and buy another ticket from a different airline as Air India said they will not be sending us to the next flight as that is for the new passesngers only. Unbelievable experience. We had several stuff tied up to do once we arrive and we went through a nightmare to figure out several items. We did not have phones to communicate and had to go through hell to find a phone to talk with our kids who spend lot of time buying us the hotel room and air tickets for the next day on a different available airline."

I had to run and buy an expensive ticket to Mumbai on a separate flight to reach Mumbai in order to catch my flight to USA. . Also, as a result of it, I had to pay extra money for Luggage to Mumbai.They were very uncooperative"
Cons: "We arrived at the domestic airport initially because it was a flight from Ahmedabad to Mumbai (domestic). Took us a while to figure that out with the language barrier and lack of internet at the airport... next we took a rickshaw to the international airport which put us just passed 45 minutes early for the flight itself. Apparently that is the limit that we didn’t know about. So we were there 40 minutes early instead of 45 and they wouldn’t let us check in even though we only had carry ons with us. Next we had to buy another air India ticket 12 hours later to Mumbai which cost us 150 dollars per ticket and made us sit at the airport for the interim. Terrible experience for us... never using air India again!"

Cons: "The ground staff at Hyderabad and Mumbai were pretty much absent, until about one hour before the flight left. It would have been great if AirIndia staff was available on the ground at the gate/terminal to advice people who did not have access to email/text messages. There was not even a single announcement about the flight being late and an ETD. A few announcements would have calmed a lot of passengers."

Cons: "We were seated in the 3rd row to a wash room which was broken even before we took off. Water (mixed with pee and other stuff) started leaking and the staff started to put down news papers and sprayed some perfumes. During the flight the leak got worse and carpet under our seats got completely soaked with pee waters. It smelled horrible and we couldn't even put our legs down. Crew didn't do anything to alleviate our pain. They didn't even bother to check on us other than to serve food when the time is up. It was the worst 14 hours our family had to live in our entire life. Shame on Air India."

Cons: "Our AI flight from Ahmedabad to Mumbai was delayed by more than 3 hrs. Though I had access to the Business Class passenger lounge, the one at the AMD airport is less than mediocre. Finally, when we reached BOM, it took the wheelchair service nearly an hour to get me and other wheelchair dependent passengers off the plane. This nearly caused us to miss our connecting flight to Newark. We also did not get to use the lounge in BOM as a result of the delay in AMD and BOM. I was travelling in Business Class due to my severely bad health condition. My husband was travelling in economy. AI ground staff was so arrogant and inconsiderate that they would not help my husband get a seat (within economy class) close to the Business Class section so he can attend to me periodically on the 16-hour long flight to Newark. In addition to the ground and flight staff being inconsiderate, the interior of the plane and the food service (in the economy class) are less than mediocre. We had choice of other airlines, but being proud indians, my wife and I decided to give AI a chance. Next time, we will find other ways to show our love for India than patronizing AI."

People started lining up to board outside the gate, but with no ground staff on sight. 10 minutes past the departure time, 2 personnel show up informing Pax that the flight was running an hour late. Food was stale. I would rather you not serve any food and knock off a few $$ from the fare, rather than serving distasteful and stale food. Overall, bloody pathetic condition of the aircraft."

Cons: "Everything. This airlines delays the flights for a reason. If a flight is delayed the passenger will somehow struggle and argue with Air India to get an accommodation. Once the passenger reaches the mediocre hotel, which has already a deal with some person from Airlines, they basically are providing business to such hotels. All this show is put up at the expense of Travellers' time, money and energy. Never gonna travel with this airlines again. About 10 of us on the same day missed the connecting flight to British Airways BA138 because of 1.45 delay from Air India flight AI 51. We suggest British Airways not to show up this shitty airline along with their flights in the iternary."
Pros: "I liked the movies offered. The food was stale. The bathrooms were not clean. They charged 100$ for 2lb over weight of 1 bag, and additionally they insisted us to check in the diaper bag for a fee of 100$ more. This is not the way you make money. This is a family unfriendly Airline. They told me that since you are already getting the priviledge of checkkng in a stroller, you got to pay 100$ for the excess 2 pounds. But all airlines allow strollers to be checked in for free.. how does that determine the luggage restrictionfor us?"
Cons: "I didn't like the baggage check in part. I had 2 check in baggage with almost 48 kg weight. However, it was showing 47 on another scale (very next weighing scale) and the person was so persistent about weight that he made me remove 1 kg from each bag. My question is how could you expect my weighing scale so perfect when yours are not perfect? it seems they don't care if air india lose a customer for just couple of kg weights. Also, no announcement for boarding, people started making their own queue. Flight was delay by almost an hour however, no courtsey to inform passanger or no monitor/tv to show at boarding gate that flight is delayed."

Cons: "Flight carrier is very old. The equipment, There is no TV Music for entertainment. The toilets are just 2. The exhaust system is not effective enough for foul smell to be sucked out of the toilet. The Aircraft is very old and needs to be upgraded. The toilets were at the end of the aircraft so every service was interrupted by people wanting to use the washroom. If the service will tale 1 hour out of 2 and half hour flight you cant expect people not to go to the washroom. An elderly gentleman was asked to sit on the crew seat near emergency exit. It was difficult for him to eat. A group of 7 people and were separated in seats and they were not handled properly as they created a chaos in the flight. They were a big disturbance to all."
