Pros: Friendly service.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Check-in and departure was easy and quick. The breakfast, cooked to order, was very good. Lots of choice and the breakfast dining area was well lit and warm, with lovely views into a well kept garden. There was no rush and it was a very pleasant experience.
Cons: My bedroom was bijou - the bathroom, closet space, etc. The room had everything (tea/coffee making equipment, TV, excellent wifi, etc.,) but was compact. For one it was manageable but a couple (it had a double bed!) would find it really tight. However, the room was very warm and the bed/pillows comfortable.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant, friendly owners. Lovely breakfast. Clean and well presented. Ample supplies of really hot water and good heating. Good parking facilities.
Cons: Bed and pillows a little too firm for me. But it wouldn't put me off returning.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean
Cons: None

8.0 Excellent
Cons: jacuzzi out of action
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Leisure club facilities were good.
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice, comfortable rooms, some staff really helpful and friendly.
Cons: The food was really not up to standard for a hotel, especially not a 4 star. Dinner was very expensive and exceptionally bad value: the dishes were not prepared or presented well and the ‘coffee’ was instant. Really disappointed with the offerings for breakfast too.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was fabulous and the staff were helpful and pleasant A little entertainment in the evenings would be nice although there was a singer for an hour in the bar on Sat night we felt this slot could have been longer. We would be happy to return to this hotel.
Cons: There was no spa and the pool closed very early.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Ate in bar, very good food, lovely staff
8.0 Excellent
Cons: No robes in the bedroom, I needed one going to and from the pool.
6.0 Good
Pros: We enjoyed the breakfast and the bedroom. Staff were very efficient and helpful, both at reception, at breakfast and in the bar. We left a charger behind and they were kind enough to post it. They have a Patrick Scott piece which was a nice surprise. The Duchess Suite was open for a nose, it looked very pleasant. The location is good from Dublin and about 20 minutes to Carlingford which is lovely.
Cons: We were very disappointed to discover that the dinner menu in the restaurant is set at 4 courses for €44, there is no a la carte option. If you want one course, you can only do so at the bar. We didn't really envisage stuffing ourselves or being surrounded by children in the bar on Valentine's weekend so we left the hotel. This meant someone had to drive and it was difficult to find somewhere to eat at short notice, so it put a big dampener on our evening. I still can't get my head around the logic of it, especially when there are 4-5 options for each course on the menu. The jacuzzi is out of order and under plywood blocked off with hazard tape. It makes quite the impression. There is an outdoor hot-tub, which I might have tried but the swimming pool temperature was below tepid. There is apparently some issue with this and they were unable to turn it up. At least it made pool-goers talk to each other but even the most determined children couldn't stay long, their teeth chattering as they gasped for air. Quite separately, we stayed in a triple so ended up in the modern section of the hotel. This was due to last-minute planning on our part. We had chosen the hotel for its Victorian character and if you are staying in the modern addition, it is not at all evident once you leave reception. If we went again, I would elect to try the original rooms.
