Pros: The staff were excellent - friendly and helpful particularly in the bar in the evening. The food was very good value for money. It is ideally located next to Clay Pigeon Kart track and gives plenty of scope to relax before going racing. Loved the opportunity to have a hot bath.
Cons: The window in my room didn't close properly so the wind whistled through the gap throughout the night interrupting sleep. I tried to open it to quieten things down a little but it was jammed shut. The drains were not very efficient with the shower and washbasin taking a long time to drain.

Pros: Clean, reasonably comfy. Fairly quiet.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property was beautiful with lots of character. Seemed like a classically British decor and appeared to have a lot of history. The dining areas were comfortable and inviting, and we enjoyed spending lots of time in the sitting and whiskey rooms. There was lots of animal imagery around the property which we found endearing and comforting. Food, cocktails, whiskeys were very nice.
Cons: Not many negative points, though perhaps the spa area could be expanded a bit. There seems to be only one massage room, so appointments filled up quite quickly. The dry sauna by the pool was also a bit cramped, really had only enough space for two people.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. Lovely gardens. Staff very attentive.
Cons: Decor is rather too chintzy for me and the restaurant was a bit hot. However, some would like this.

Pros: Really friendly and cosy, well presented and the bedrooms are very comfortable. Breakfast was great, lovely selection. Dinner was nice but would have been good to have a bit of variety in the menu from one night to the next - even if just a couple of ‘specials’.

4.0 Okay
Pros: location is great for the area. lots of free parking spaces.
Cons: sadly, this shouldn’t be classed as a 4 start B&B. The location is great, but the room was in great need of a revamp, including the lack of a shower in the bathroom. Also, iv not stayed in many 4 start hotels or B&B where there is a plastic food jug in the bathroom to bath with. On the evening be decided to eat in the bar, again this was very disapointing as they were running a limited menu
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The manager was exceptionally helpful and resolved our problem brilliantly. Lovely breakfast as well !
Cons: The initial problem but this was due to the place needing some work doing.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great friendly staff, the evening meals was nice. the rooms had plenty of space and warm. Breakfast was ok, but not great. They allowed us to bring our dog which was fantastic. I'd stay again
Cons: Breakfast was a bit poor quality.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The staff were friendly and breakfast was good although very limited options available.
Cons: We were incredibly dissatisfied when we arrived to be told the property was about to undergo refurbishment so there was a very limited menu and even more limited bar. We'd chosen the Countryman Inn so that we could relax over food and drink after a long walk. Instead we had to drive to an alternative venue for food. The property was run down and in need of the refurbishment. The room was clean but we were plagued by flies in the bar area when we got back from dinner. There was no prior warning and I am surprised we were charged the rates we were.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was limiting but very good and the bed was comfortable. Clean rooms. Good parking.
Cons: No WiFi (even though it’s advertised as having WiFi). The bathroom window is permanently open. The toilet seat has a patch covering something. The shower head holder is loose. The skylight has a translucent blind so let’s in light. The radiators don’t work but there was one electric radiator. I believe the place is having a complete overhaul so I’m hoping these issues are addressed. Either way for this price I expect better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: cosy and warm, lovely staff, comfortable beds and a wonderful breakfast - they even cooked a sausage for the dog! Highly recommend
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The food was good - reasonable range and quantity at the beginning of the week. The variety dropped as the week progressed. Plenty of space in the dining areas and car park was roomy with few other vehicles. But there was a reason for a lot of this...
Cons: The Inn was closing for refurbishment the following week. WiFi was non-existent the whole week - a notice appeared behind the bar on the Monday night and it didn't move... Only one beer on offer (in a bottle) - and I reckon they only had ONE bottle since there were no more for the rest of the week - only lager. No draught beers... Room 7 in dire need of repair - sink plug defective, shower took over 10 minutes to get lukewarm water through (honest - I timed it!). No desk in room. Woeful signal for wireless (3G/4G) - kept dropping out. Number of stations on Sky arrangement on the television reduced as the week went on - had to watch BBC News from Scotland since none of the others worked as the week unfolded. Bed was comfortable - two mattresses pushed together under a massive skylight.

Pros: Comfortable room. A little small with a double bed. However fine for what we needed. Overlooked the main road but not noisy. Bathroom ok, clean but a bit out dated. Nice toiletries but shower lacked power. Very friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Excellent location, close to everything in the town. Parking a little way away but within walking distance.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service from a wide menu
Cons: Bathroom - I do not like showers
6.3 Good
Pros: Staff were friendly. Good breakfast. Good location.
Cons: The rooms were in a bad state of disrepair. The shower cubicle was rotting and mouldy, as was the ceiling and mirror in the bathroom. The hairdryer didn’t work, the room was dark, the carpet was covered in stains. The door to the room opened into the car park and smoking area, this wasn’t great as there was a gap all around the door which let the fumes etc in. The gap, also made me feel very unsafe at night as there was one Yale lock holding my door shut. It would have been easily kicked in. There was also a large crack in the wall down the side of the window.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Nice full cooked fresh breakfast. Location was great for town centre.
Cons: Bedrooms are awful! Room was dark and dirty, bed very uncomfortable. Bathroom was disgusting, very mouldy and dirty. These rooms are in desperate need of a renovation !
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good breakfast. Bar was right next door.
Cons: Room was marginal. Bathroom marginally clean.
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, good breakfast, evening meal deal was good value, lively atmosphere, central to the town and amenities.
Cons: Rooms a little dated, could do with a lick of paint, taps on the sink loose, smelly bathroom area, spyhole stuffed with paper, skylights needed a good clean.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing :(
Cons: The shower was the worst I've ever seen, virtually no white grout..yellowing black moldy !. Shower head caked in lime scale, no pressure the water dribbled out. Rotten woodwork below the shower door, tiled walls looked like they'd never been cleaned. Noise outside from the smokers late at night was not welcome at all. Very cold room, had to ask for the heating to be put on .. full height ceiling velum Windows could not be reached to close them.
7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast was very nice, cereal, fruit juice, full English with toast, tea and Coffee. Location was excellent, right on the doorstep of the main shopping area, and easy walking distance of museums etc. Parking for car at no charge off road. comfortable bed and bedding. Towels changed daily as used. Able to get a choice of meals all day at the hotel
Cons: Accomodation tired and a bit grubby. En-suite bathroom extractor not working.
6.7 Good
Pros: The room was separate from the hotel. The breakfast was OK. The quality of the food we did order to the room was substantial and very nice. I was allowed to request early check in and late check when i booked our stay online through booking.com. Both requests were approved by the property.
Cons: There wasn't a phone in the room to call reception and ask for room service my partner had to go in to order, he also asked for no salad ( rabbit food as he refers to it) in his burger, I had to pick the salad out. The carpark was too small, we had to park a good 10-15 min walk from the property itself. It took a while for someone to acknowledge us when we went to check in. I didn't get asked if i wanted an invoice when we went to check out, all i was given was the card receipt nothing else.
