Effective November 8, 2021 - vaccines will be required for international travelers coming into the United States, For purposes of entry into the country, vaccines accepted will include FDA approved or authorized and WHO Emergency Use Listing vaccines.
Citizens and lawful permanent residents of the United States, certain family members, and other individuals who meet specified exceptions, will be allowed to enter the United States.
Please find list of entry suspension for certain countries based on the last proclamation.
Visitors from India must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken 72 hours before departing to the United States.
This applies to ALL incoming air travelers even those who have been fully vaccinated.
Children under the age of 2 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test results.
Visitors from India are not required to quarantine after entering the United States.
Travelers are not required but recommended to quarantine between 7-10 days after arrival in the US.
A COVID-19 test is recommended to be taken 3-5 days after arrival. If the test is negative, it is recommended that travelers quarantine for 7 days. If the test is positive, they should self-isolate until recovery.
Travelers should check quarantine requirements for the specific states they are going to as some states may still have mandatory quarantine for incoming international travelers.
Travellers returning from the United States must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to India.
Passengers arriving from Afghanistan, Bahrain, France, Germany, Iraq, Kuwait, Netherlands, Oman, Qatar, Russian Fed., Ukraine and United Arab Emirates are subject to a Covid-19 molecular test upon arrival at their own expense.
Passengers arriving from Brazil, South Africa or United Kingdom are also subject to a Covid-19 molecular test upon arrival and another test on day 7 at their own expense.
Visitors returning from the United States will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering India.
Anyone arriving to India will be required to go into 7 days quarantine at an institution at their own cost, followed by 7 days self-quarantine.
This requirement can be removed if presenting a negative RT-PCR test, no older than 72 hours. But all arrivals from the UK, South Africa, and Brazil must quarantine for 7 days, regardless of testing.
Most foreign visitors from India will not be allowed to enter the United States. Please check the official guidelines from the United States for permitted groups and exceptions to the entry restrictions.
Vaccinated visitors from India can enter the United States with a negative COVID-19 test result.
Unvaccinated visitors from India will not be allowed to enter the United States.
Mask usage in the United States is recommended in public spaces and public transportation.
