Kenya Travel Restrictions

Unvaccinated visitors from India will not be allowed to enter Kenya.
Fully vaccinated visitors from India can enter Kenya without restrictions.

Kenya entry details and exceptions

These entry restrictions do not apply to returning unvaccinated Kenyan citizens or residents, travelers under the age of 18, or travelers with medical conditions precluding vaccination. Such travelers are required to provide a letter from a recognized medical practitioner detailing the medical reason precluding vaccination, fully vaccinated travelers with a valid vaccination certificate, and travelers who have recovered from COVID-19 with accepted proof.

Travelers will be screened for flu-like or clinical symptoms on arrival.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Unvaccinated visitors from India must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken within 72 hours before departing to Kenya.

Fully vaccinated visitors with approved vaccination certificates do not need to present a negative COVID-19 test.

Details and exceptions
Unvaccinated travelers, including those in transit, must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. The results must be uploaded to the Global Haven platform prior to boarding their flight to Kenya. This requirement does not apply to travelers under the age of 5, and fully vaccinated travelers.
Unvaccinated travelers arriving in Kenya must undergo a rapid antigen test at a cost of USD 30. If anyone tests positive, they will be subjected to PCR test at their own cost of USD 50 and self-isolate. This requirement does not apply to travelers under the age of 5, and fully vaccinated travelers.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors from India are not required to quarantine after entering Kenya.

Documents
Travelers, including those in transit, are required to complete the traveler's Health Surveillance Form online at “jitenge” platform before travel.
Electronic Visitor Visa
To visit Kenya for Business or Tourism, you require a visa.

An eVisa is the fastest and easiest way of obtaining a visa as you can submit an application and supporting documents online. If approved, you'll receive your eVisa confirmation electronically. When you arrive at immigration, you will be asked for your passport and eVisa to ensure you have proper documentation.

East African Visitor Visa
This visa is for travelers visiting Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda for tourism during one trip. You can travel freely between these three countries, entering and exiting each country multiple times. You must start your trip in Kenya. The visa becomes invalid if you travel outside of these countries.

Travelers must submit daily health information to the Jitenge MoH Kenya platform for 14 consecutive days.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Unvaccinated travelers returning from Kenya must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken within 72 hours before departure to India.

Fully vaccinated travellers with approved vaccination certificates do not need to present a negative COVID-19 test.

Details and exceptions
Travelers should upload their negative RT-PCR test report in the Air Suvidha Portal prior to boarding their flight.
Travelers will undergo a medical screening upon arrival and may be subject to a covid-19 molecular test at their own expense.
Children under 5 years of age are exempted from both pre and post-arrival testing.
Fully vaccinated travelers with WHO-recognized or Nationally-recognized vaccines are also exempted from testing requirements. Proof of vaccination should be uploaded in the Air Suvidha Portal.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Kenya are not required to quarantine upon entering India.

Details and exceptions
Quarantine is no longer required. However, travelers are advised to self-monitor their health for 14 days from arrival and if they develop signs and symptoms suggestive of COVID19, they should immediately self-isolate and report to their nearest health facility or call National helpline number (1075)/ State Helpline Number.
