Very disorganised and inefficient boarding procedure compounds the disorganised nature of the Indore airport. Crew announced that a system would be followed based on those passengers that paid for expedited boarding, those with children and those in the military etc. However the system was not implemented. Not sure why IndiGo does not use and enforce zonal boarding. A/C not working on bus transporting passengers to aircraft and information system indicating flight information not working either. Given this leg happened after sunset there was very poor lighting on boarding ramps at both Indore and Mumbai.

The plane was so worn out, seat padding, there was was none, as it had seen better days, the covers were no longer covering the seats as the padding had disintegrated somewhere and were just hanging onto the seats for dear life!!!, it felt dirty and unkept, it smelled like an old toilet also. The fittings, trays where you could store your stuff was dirty also I didn't even eat the food, I was paranoid. Felt totally uncomfortable on this flight , sorry Air India but you need to have some standards on short flights despite what price you put on the seats. This was part of my long haul flight from Sydney to Mumbai which has marred my experience with you."

No announcements letting passengers know what the deal was except telling us that there was a delay. I had to use apps to get the information I needed."

Unbelievable experience. We had several stuff tied up to do once we arrive and we went through a nightmare to figure out several items. We did not have phones to communicate and had to go through hell to find a phone to talk with our kids who spend lot of time buying us the hotel room and air tickets for the next day on a different available airline."

Cons: "I fly a LOT, and this was one of the very worst flight experiences I’ve ever had. The flight was delayed and the staff (on the ground and in the air) were rude and unhelpful. As a result I missed my connecting flights to Nairobi and on to Lusaka. Air India staff couldn’t be bothered to offer even the most basic support in trying to make the flight or helping to reschedule. I had to spend almost five extremely stressful hours running back and forth in the Mumbai airport to get Air India to issue a basic form letter stating their flight was delayed in order to get my next flight rebooked, and was yelled at by their abysmal customer service staff. As a result I’m out hundreds of dollars in missed flights and extra hotel rooms and arrived 24 hours late (!) to my final destination. I will think long and hard before EVER booking an Air India flight again."

Crew didn't do anything to alleviate our pain. They didn't even bother to check on us other than to serve food when the time is up. It was the worst 14 hours our family had to live in our entire life. Shame on Air India."

This nearly caused us to miss our connecting flight to Newark. We also did not get to use the lounge in BOM as a result of the delay in AMD and BOM. I was travelling in Business Class due to my severely bad health condition. My husband was travelling in economy. AI ground staff was so arrogant and inconsiderate that they would not help my husband get a seat (within economy class) close to the Business Class section so he can attend to me periodically on the 16-hour long flight to Newark. In addition to the ground and flight staff being inconsiderate, the interior of the plane and the food service (in the economy class) are less than mediocre. We had choice of other airlines, but being proud indians, my wife and I decided to give AI a chance. Next time, we will find other ways to show our love for India than patronizing AI."
