The check in experience was great. The crew was very kind and respectful.
The worst airline to travel in India. Not at all customer service oriented. They don’t give a damn about passenger comfort and services.
Boarding was NOT good enough. Our cabin luggage was pushed back to check-in in the pretext of packed flight. But eventually there were empty seats on the flight. Also, we booked seats on exit rows... But seems something got changed and we got same seats alright, but they were no longer on exit row (& that was empty eventually). Flight claimed to have a travel time of 1 hour 50 minutes, but it took around 2:20 minutes (seems Indigo has a different clock). 😂

Both flights had 2 stops and both times Indigo said we didn’t have a second flight and wouldn’t give us a second boarding pass meaning we had to go out to the check in both times to get our second boarding pass and both times were very problematic. Also we have a 7+ hour international flight on a very small plane with no free food or drinks. Just not a very good flight experience overall."

Cons: "The website does not describe baggage allowance clearly as compared to other airlines. It lists “excess baggage weight” but not the 15kg limit. The choice of 15kg as the limit is a BIG problem for international travelers who may be coming for longer stays. Air India has a much friendlier policy for checked and carryon baggage and I would choose it by far. We were charged for every kilo even though prepay options online were not user friendly. 4 thumbs down, way down."

They were accepting credit card to be charged in US dollar or cash in Qatar Riyal for the food amount. I offered to pay through credit card but two cards has failed while third was accepted. There were many passengers who were not carrying case in Qatar Riyal and their cards work not successfully swipe,therefore they remained hungry. This is in human and no airline on international route is allowed to do so"

Cons: "We are foreign students and when we purchased our ticket we were not given the option to buy a student price ticket in Kayak or at the indigo counter at the new delhi airport. We were charged 3000rps each for overweight luggage and the staff at the check in counter in Jaipur were really rude about it. After having paid an extra 3000 rps which was almost like buying another flight ticket to new Delhi for just a 35 min flight, our flight was 1 hour delayed!! Definitely we will NEVER fly with indigo again!!!"

Seats were broken. We need to ask for the blankets because blankets were not kept on the seats for passengers. Breakfast was not served they gave goodies instead of breakfast. Overall bad experience.
The travel time was for 15+ hours. Travelers want to have some entertainment. However, the TV/Monitors/screens didn't work. When contacted the crew, they said that there was some problem and more than half of the total TVs/screens were not working. It was bad that it was not handled prior to the journey even though it was known earlier. Also, the Air India didn't provide use and throw tooth brush and paste. For 15 hour journey, it is expected that this basic requirement is taken care of. Overall, my experience during this travel is very bad.

Entertainment in air India flight is super worse, none of the entertainment console worked. Not just for us both many co passengers had faced the same issue. Seats are super hard and lost the comfy. Sitting for 15+ hrs in hard seat is miserable experience. Food quality degraded badly and they now serving Potato in all forms which looks like the cheapest vegetable.. potato curry and potato cutlet..OMG- Air India, you need to be mindful and please please improve the travelling experience and give the passengers a pleasant experience for what we are paying for..

The flight was from NYC to London Heathrow. This was unpleasant to say the least. -since it's a cheap airline, the clientele was as to be expected. Some guy jumped in the lavatory in front of me after I waited 20 mins. The boarding process was like the line for the lifeboats on the titanic. -they played some traditional Indian music during landing. I understand it's AirIndia, but if I wanted music playing I'd have put it on myself. It seemed intrusive and strange. -they "misplaced" our luggage. It didn't come out of the carousel. Bags claim said it's "somewhere in the airport". Myself and about 30 people waited 40 mins for them to find our bags. At least they didn't go with the connecting flight to India? -we deplaned on the tarmac and took buses to the terminal. Once there, AirIndia staff asked us to produce our bording passes again. One women said she threw hers away, since we were already off the plane. They yelled at her saying it made "it" easier for them to process. I have no idea why they needed to see them once we were at our destination."
