The beds were comfortable, the baths luxurious, 1st class amenities, quiet and peaceful, but close to all of the action. Staff was extremely helpful and personable. Loved the Riva Experience, would do it all over again!! wished we could've spent more time here... 3 days is NOT long enough.

Pros: The rooms are beautiful, good size, well equipped and decorated. Amazing private pier to come/leave from with a private transfer, movie like! The service and attention were all top notch. A very intimate feel!
Cons: The bar and terrace being opened to everyone it is quite full and we were not able to enjoy it (not even have a table). As guests of the hotel we found that this was very disappointing, especially when we pay such a price. We felt that compared to the Danieli not enough attention were given to the hallways and corridors in terms of decoration and furnishing (this being said the rooms at the Gritty are way better). All the above is mentioned in regards to a very hefty price, you expect the very best for it (it is an amazing hotel taking this out of consideration).

Pros: Really great location. Close to both Rialto bridge and SAN Marco square. Staff so friendly and accommodating. Room really nice, clean and turn down service available. Good selection in mini bar. Cocktails were amazing! A bit pricey but when you consider the quality and quantity of liquor in them, they are worth every penny! Bar man knowledgable! I had an upgrade and other nice surprises for my birthday. Would 100% stay again Thank you!

Cons: Breakfast was my only gripe and only through my own personal choice. There was a good selection and good quality food for continental, but if you like a cooked breakfast there is a restaurant down the road, with full English for €11.

Cons: My fault for not knowing the proper boat taxi. We had to drag our bags through Venice getting lost a couple times. Not the hotels fault at all. Just suggesting you find a water taxi that stops almost right in front of the hotel.

The tide was high, so some water taxis weren't working and the staff helped us understand how to still get to where we wanted to go. Breakfast was a wonderful buffet in a lovely room.

Cons: Staff are very well dressed and say the right words, but I never sensed any authenticity, warmth, friendliness, etc.. I asked for assistance on several occasions from different people related to getting to the airport, a restaurant recommendation, directions, etc and the responses were typically curt and robotic. The only exception was the porter/bellhop from the Philippines, he was great. I would expect more from a 4-star hotel when I'm paying $400-500 per night. It was as if they didn't like their jobs. The same experience was noted in the restaurant which was located in the sister hotel next door. Doubt I will return given the opportunity.

My mother has always wanted to go to Venice (and always talked about it since I was a child...) and after a while saving I was finally able to bring her. I explained to the staff what this holiday was and they were immediately by our side from the start. Upon landing they’d helped me book a private water taxi from the airport to the hotel, upon arriving at the hotel they were lovely enough to upgrade us and quiet literally every morning would offer us some advice and help on what to see and what not too! The hotel wasn’t what I had in my head for some reason... it’s a lot smaller. It’s a lot more personal than you’d expect and very quiet. Absolutely perfect. Perfect welcome, perfect stay and a memory both mum and I will hold dearly. Thank you guys. Genuinely cannot thank the staff enough for making us feel as warm and as welcomed as we were. As an experienced traveller, I can honestly say, I have NEVER felt so supported by such FRIENDLY staff.

Cons: Just some comments for future bookers, if you can - it’s worth the upgrade. Rooms in the hotel are small. We had an upgraded room and it was still relatively tight (MASSIVE tv tho!! - for those evenings when you come back and wanna just chill!!!) Obviously asked for a twin room, however it’s still two mattresses pushed together... no middle gap?! Photos shown are of the best rooms... as you’d expect... There’s no service (aka no room service for drinks or food) and it’s too small for general bar area in the hotel... although there is a little courtyard area with a few outside sofas and tables. Also - as a Brit - it would have been nice to have had some tea, milk and mugs in the room! Overall - this was a fabulous hotel. No major complaint, just picky improvements for the future. 4/5*******

Cons: Floor plans complex and not safe. Basic facilities far from everything. Ground floor and lobby bathrooms are so hidden one needs a guide to find them. Many staircases have no hand rails. Cost of bottled water obscene! Drinking water is a basic necessity and should be available not priced as an expensive luxury.

Pros: Gorgeous hotel in the heart of Venice and just a minute walk to San Marco Square. The breakfast is incredible and they provide a private taxi to/from Murano to a glass blowing factory and art gallery.

Pros: I love this hotel from the arrival in water taxi directly on its doorstep, the terrace with breathtaking views, the rooms - especially if you book in the Palazzo part. Gorgeous. Pros: This was our first time in Rome, Italy and the experience was above average. We traveled with a total of 4 personnel (2 adults/2 kids) so accommodations is important. We arrived at the airport around midnight but there’s always Taxis available (utilize the white taxi cab) legit company and they offered a fixed price of €60 for us 4. The normal rate is €48 so ensure you and the driver agrees on the price. Upon arrival to the hotel, the place is located within 5-10 mins from the main train/bus station. The front desk is manned 24/7, small lobby, small bar area (social hour is a joke since it’s one free champagne drink) and they don’t have any other drinks in stock. The front desk offers a map of the area and you can easily navigate. The computer in the lobby is slow and don’t expect any service from their only computer. The wifi in the rooms and lobby is fast so no issues with connectivity. There’s only one elevator and they have 3 floors to the hotel. The breakfast is decent, eggs, hotdog, meat, bread, cereal, juice, espresso machine, variety of cake, pastries, and they have a microwave and toaster if you want to warm your food. The sitting area is a little cramped but it’s free breakfast to get you through the day. Also, there’s a city tax for each person that was not included in the hotel charge between €5-8 euros each depending on your family size. The hallways is small, rooms is just enough to put a luggage, bed and a bathroom (Worth it for 3-Star)

Cons: The area near the train station is fairly safe. Our room view was facing towards the other connected buildings so it was not much of a view. The property is maintained and good for the location and price.

Cons: There was no iron in the room and the could not provide one. Since I travel I use a steamer usually but the US to Italian electricity made the steamer heat excessively and wouldn't work properly.

Cons: So we got to the hotel- they give us a third floor room. My husband is handicap. When I tell the man he said oh well- that’s all we have. So we make it to the hotel- it is the wrong size bed then what we ordered. The place is a nightmare .

Cons: No elevator and no rooms on the ground floor. Your queen size bed may end up being two single beds pushed together, but that is not so unusual in Europe. In room coffee is a packet of Nescafe, not what you'd expect in Italy.

Cons: The standard room was a little on the small size. The double bed was not a double it was two singles pushed together. Hotel itself was nice and pleasant however I felt it fell short of a four star. Overall I rate it 7/10.
