9.2 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely two days break at Calcot in November. It has everything you need - a nice restaurant and pub, great spa and plenty of room to snug in front of fireplace in cold winter days. Definitely will be back
Cons: Breakfast buffet was nice and had a great selection, but we found cooked options weren’t as great. Our omelette on the first day was dry and very average
7.1 Good
Pros: The styling and appearance of the property was very good- as I would expect for a high end hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel gifted a bottle of House Champagne for our Honeymoon- a nice gesture. Service was generally friendly and helpful.
Cons: The Spa was very disappointing. Small and poorly equipped. Given the price point for our one night stay (£369). There were only 4 pool side loungers which were all occupied, a relatively small and boring pool. Outside hot tub looked good but with 6 people in on arrival it was too busy to try during our visit. Upstairs Spa was again small and underwhelming. I was also charged £50 for a pair of swim shorts and swimsuit for my wife. A quick search online suggests similar garments would have retailed about £25-30 max! A bit of profiteering I understand but that mark up was a bitter pill that I discovered upon check out. Evening meal was ok but not impressive. £65 for Chateaubriand...I’ve had better for less! Go to Whatley Manor...spend a little more...food, surroundings and spas better for a special stay!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous hotel. V friendly and helpful staff. Great facilities. Food good too.
Cons: TV too small in our room
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, typical Cotswolds buildings, very clean, staff really helpful and attentive, food was excellent.
Cons: Nothing negative to say about the hotel, all good
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hotel. Traditional cotswold styling. Great Spa. Great choice of food venues.
Cons: Small thing but has Smart TV but not connected to hotel Internet so no Netflix!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful haven where relaxation and comfort is the priority. The beds are the comfiest I have ever slept in and I always sleep the best when I stay at Calcot. The staff are attentive and make you feel like the only guests in the hotel but also leave you to relax. The food in the Conservatory restaurant also has a less formal feel which adds to the relaxed ambience and the menu choice is always varied, seasonal and locally sourced. The spa is outstanding with outdoor hot tub and the treatments are incredible. This is perfect for couples, friends and families who want to have luxury coupled with a relaxed first class experience. I wants want to stay longer.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and so was the rest of the food
Cons: Everything was fine !
7.9 Good
Pros: - staff particularly breakfast staff, those at gumstool inn and the spa were so friendly. -room was comfortable -lovely food and nice grounds
Cons: -felt it was expensive -the spa facilities are okay - hot tub outdoors lovely but as main attraction often busy and we were there at ‘off-peak’ time.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Have stayed at the Hare and Hounds many times over the last 28 years. Always enjoy the experience and the same standards have been maintained as ownership of he hotel has changed. Still a lovely cosy feel to this country hotel which is well situated for visits to the Cotswolds.
Cons: Nothing negative to report.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: V comfortable beds, spacious rooms and dining rooms. Very pretty gardens.
Cons: V hot, heating on far too high no need. Please add a couple of more healthy options on the bar menu.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome was friendly and our room was very nice although at the front of the building it wasn't too noisy. The evening meal was tasty but not enough vegetable choices quite pricey for what we had. The hotel is perfectly positioned to be near to the Arboretum but you can not walk there as you would have to walk along the main road - we were advised of this before booking.
Cons: The breakfast was tasty but small for a full English - 1 sausage 1 egg and 2 small slices of bacon the tiniest portion of baked beans I have ever seen - literally two teaspoons of beans in a tiny pot - half a tomato a very small slice of black pudding and a reasonable amount of mushrooms - far too much toast not and enough marmalade. The evening meal was tasty but not enough vegetable choices - quite pricey for what we had. Our room was lovely but they really shouldn't have curtains with rips in them where they had been in the sunlight for so long. Even if they trimmed off the edges of the curtains and re-hemmed the sides they wouldn't have looked to tatty it really lowered the tone of the whole experience of a luxurious hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Hotel far nicer when there than the pics show. Great food at the Restaurant we were going to the arboretum close by so it was very handy
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was quiet elegance without being snobby!! The staff were lovely and very helpful. As a dog lover meeting a Cockerpoo, beagle, spaniel and two border terriers within fifteen minutes of arrival was lovely!!
Cons: Very minor point but I would have liked a choice of dessert on the room service menu. I would have liked photos of Woodland Cottage and the other cottages and suites easily accessible via the website for a potential future booking.

Pros: Hosts were outstanding. Suite was generous. Breakfast amazing. Arrived as guests, left like family.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s a shame that we can only give 5 stars because we want to give more! The welcome, the service, the general atmosphere is second to none. A beautiful little home from home with even more beautiful hosts, we couldn’t fault if we tried.
Cons: The only thing we disliked was that fact we couldn’t stay longer!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house. Excellent hosts. Personal touch. Great location. Nice breakfast. Nice change from a hotel.
Cons: Comes up on some searches (google) as a 5 star hotel. It's not a 5 star hotel it's a 5 star B&B.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff and amazing service - both in the hotel/B&B and the pub/restaurant. Being in a modern accommodation block next to the pub works really well, especially for families and the pub itself is stunning inside with warm open fires, a great atmosphere and exceptional food. The surrounding Stroud Valleys countryside is beautiful - what an amazing location. We will definitely be staying again.

7.9 Good
Pros: Charming area, good breakfast
7.9 Good
Pros: Location, atmosphere and this would be a much higher feedback score if the above were attended to.
Cons: Shower stopped working completely during shower. This was major problem. No side plates given in restaurant during meals. Burnt toast at breakfast. I think staff could probably be trained a little better, this is a management responsibility. Restaurant prices a tad expensive for what we had.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious food, friendly service
9.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was great. good choices and cooked breakfast was well cooked, presented and hot.
10.0 Excellent

The Bear Of Rodborough Hotel - Stroud - Building

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Second visit and hopefully not the last. Love the character of the place, the friendliness and efficiency of the staff and the breakfast is outstanding in its choice and quality.
Cons: We both felt the mattress was too firm - a deep topper would certainly help. Next time we will ask for a room at the back of the hotel away from the traffic noise.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff. Cosy intimate atmosphere. Food was very good and the service excellent. Room was comfortable, if a little warm.
Cons: Decor was a bit tired in places and it was impossible to open the windows in our room, which meant that things were a bit stuffy. Other than that, no complaints.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Rooms , friendly staff ,great parking , great location, would definitely return in the summer
Cons: The bar areas had lovely log fires but due to the cold weather were inadequate to heat the rooms, maybe some electric heaters needed in winter.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Specifically the care and concern of staff - at reception and in the restaurant- for my own needs. I arrived on a cold, dark night, after three cycling mishaps on the hill from Rodbourgh community centre, having lost my padlock en route. But this didn't faze the guy at reception, who arranged a private room for security. The night provided exactly the appropriate comfort for my recovery from the experience - which had blighted by a front light failure from the outset - and the morning breakfast met all my expectations.
Cons: Just one little proviso: I'd requested an early morning alarm call, but this didn't appear to have been registered. Nonetheless the room clock functioned adequately, and so did my "internal" self-wake up system

6.7 Good
Pros: nailsworth is a wonder town . decor lovely
Cons: we were really disappointed that breakfast started at 8am. being a business trip we had to leave before 8am to get to work. theres wasnt an option to remove breakfast and no details of times before booking. details of check in werent clear. and we had two singles pushed together which wasnt a double as stated.
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely location
Cons: The rooms were up steep double stairs ... not accessible for all. The cost of the rooms was high for the overall experience .... no plug in sink, very low water pressure in shower. Breakfast provided is ONLY a continental breakfast without even any fruit. This was disappointing. Cooked breakfast was an additional £7.50 which I think should have been included.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous location, decor, comfy bed, big towels, coffee great etc
Cons: The continental breakfast is a bit limited and sweet!
7.0 Good
Pros: Very clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Great location.
Cons: The continental breakfast was poor. Consisted of a croissant and muffin. Was not enjoyable and seemed a half hearted. Better off by paying less and going to travelodge and then getting a decent breakfast elsewhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was wonderful, room, staff, location and the town, and breakfast. Our room was clean and we were very comfortable.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast and service
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, without exception, were all friendly which added to our enjoyment. The food was excellent. The room appeared to be part of a converted stable and was a good size and very comfortable - just the right blend of traditional with a touch of bling. Oh yes, the ensuite was well equipped.
Cons: It is a shame that the hotel doesn't have parking, however you can pull up opposite to unload/load bags and then there is a public carpark nearby, a short walk.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Central in Tetbury. Warm and friendly bar and comfortable, well decorated lounge for guests. Well cooked breakfast with pleasant service. All staff were very helpful and made us feel welcome.
Cons: No parking but I don't think any of the hotels or restaurants nearby had private parking. We were able to pull up outside to unload our luggage. There is a free car park on the edge of town but it's a hilly walk back. There is a closer pay as you go car park.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff ,food, location and quirkiness of the Ormond.
Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location to visit tetbury
Cons: Very strict dog policy, not allowed to leave dog unattended in room which we were not aware of. Had to cancel dinner plans. Based on this we won’t return
8.0 Excellent
Cons: The only thing that let this place down was that we booked a queen room expecting it to have a queen bed - turns out this means its a bigger bedroom or bathroom, but neither were huge. For the price though can't really complain, just a shame it meant our expectations weren't met on arrival. Comfy stay all the same.

I shall certainly go back to the Cardynham hotel i only wish we had eaten there the first night, i would just like to say thanks again for the help at a difficult time.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, from start to finish. Staff were polite and friendly .It was lovely and relaxing being in the middle of nowhere,so peaceful.Food was first class .We had dinner and breakfast the following morning both being delicious. The bedroom was warm ,comfy and cosy. Already booked for our next trip.
Cons: This isn't major as there was one in the shower room but there wasn't a mirror in the bedroom.Couldnt see how it looked when drying my hair.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Not too far from Cotswold Upper and Lower Slaugter.
Cons: The postal code not that accurate especially if you are driving at night and coming from The left side of the road to the Ragged Cot. It stops about 30-40m off and at night you can’t see the Ragged Cot sign post bec of the bend in the road. You need to drive slightly in front about 40m before the sign is visible. Should be no problem coming from the right side of the road.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The Ragged Cot is in a good location and looks a very nice property with lots of parking.
Cons: The shower in the room was cold - I reported it in the morning- but no action was taken. I spoke with the evening staff and they helped to get a warmer shower but it could only be run with a low flow and not full power. I stayed 2 nights and the room was not cleaned or restocked on the second day. The mattress on the bed was very hard and board like. The wooden boarding around the sink was starting to suffer from water damage and the carpets were stained and starting to fray away from the room dividers.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We were made very welcome and our room was comfortable and attractively furnished. We had a delicious, very well presented dinner. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. Friendly and attentive staff. I would be very happy to return.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff, excellent food, excellent stay!
Cons: Shower enclosure needed attention but this was the ONLY thing we could complain about.
6.7 Good
Pros: Comfy room and bed
Cons: Staff on arrival were very unhappy, they were busy but didn’t make us feel welcome at all, it took until the night time of our stay on the second day for someone to actually smile at us.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The staff were the best part of this stay - especially enjoyed the affable barmen's banter, but the food and the accommodations were also quite comfortable and cozy. Loved the country modern style.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was fine and the breafkast was very good. The room in itself met a reasonable standard, especially considering the price paid. The cost of a drink was also reasonable in comparison to other hotels.
Cons: On arrival we booked in for an evening meal, but on being seated we were informed 4 of the 7 meals were unavailable, and our starter failed to arrive. The radiator in our room was constantly full on (unable to turn off) reported on morning of our 2nd day. On return in evening nothing changed and staff said nothing they could do (open a window) Hotel is fine, but these issues could be dealt with better. Oh yes bed a bit hard for me. Had meal out 2nd evening.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambiance of The Ragged Cot is lovely. We are pretty old.StillWe enjoyed the atmosphere of the music lovely .
Cons: There was nothing I disliked.

Pros: Nothing ... room disgusting very dirty damp and black mould on the window this is the first room we stayed in with 2 large dogs .. smelly and not comfortable at all.
Cons: Food was ok not brilliant. I had a burnt pudding said about it but still charged me no replacement offered. It was my birthday Not the best weekend away...
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked to order, good ingredients. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The location is rural but that is what you expect from that part of the country. Rooms were clean and tidy.
Cons: We arrived just after 3pm and they had finished servicing lunch and did not serve food again until 6.30pm, we asked if we could get pizza delivered to our room so that we could eat before we planned to go out, they said no, so we ended up walking up to the next pub for lunch.

Cons: No shower in en suite.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendliness of the staff . Cosy bar area with a log fire, plenty to choose from at breakfast and evening meals. Very happy customers .
Cons: Dining room a little chilly for evening meal.
1.0 Poor
Cons: Threadbare carpets in the public areas - held together by strips of duck tape at the top of the staircase. Threadbare carpet in a superior room, dead flies on windowsill plus a dog biscuit from a previous incumbent. Opaque glass on the window so no natural light and the room was above the kitchen so the extractor fan ran til 11pm and started up again at 7am. Had to send my main meal back as the lamb was overlooked and the dauphinois was undercooked.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, helpful with our dogs
Cons: No parking available had to use public car park and bit of a trek with suitcases and two dogs in tow
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent - great choice. Friendly staff who were very helpful and gave excellent service.

4.0 Okay
Pros: Good location and stayed there before. Room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: soap try came off the wall in the bathroom on day one. Reported to reception staff member and then again day two it I spoke to the housekeeper, nothing done about it so it stayed on the floor of the shower for the whole of our stay. small milk cartons in the room not replenished. Breakfast timings not explained clearly to us and other guests as we missed the 9am deadline on Monday morning, as did another couple who were advised to try a cafe in the high st to get a cooked breakfast. Found the buffet option, our only choice a very poor selection. Result paid £10 for tea and toast that day and again for the second time in a three night, short stay no brown bread for toast. Also no sauages day two!! You may think small things but in a short stay quite important to get it right. No shortage of alternative hotels/cafes in the area!!!!!!!!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room and location were excellent for our requirements
Cons: Disappointed with one of the evening meals and cooked breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Attended wedding nearby. Friendly staff, nice rooms and great location. Would stay again
6.0 Good
Pros: Spacious room on ground floor (no stairs!!), quiet, comfortable bed, large bathroom, good breakfast
Cons: Ordered 2 newspapers and never got them (but not charged either). Did not eat in restaurant, apart from breakfast, because of menu reliant on pizzas and burgers. On 2nd night the towels were not changed, despite being left on the floor as indicated; they were just placed wet on the side of the bath. Room never vacuumed and bin not emptied. Coffee, milk and biscuits not replaced.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious room and comfortable beds. Friendly staff.
Cons: Breakfast was a bit disappointing. There was no fruit other than apples. The only bread was sour dough which is not universally liked.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the room was lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful pizza night was good nice choice of drinks lovely fire in the centre of the restaurant to keep you warm and toasty during the winter period
Cons: there was wifi but it had to be requested at the desk. they had ran out of beans and orange juice at breakfast. they compensated with extra for or other fruit juice but, its not the same.
7.0 Good
Pros: Full English b/fast was adequate but plates should have been warmer. On request, gluten free toast was made available on both mornings at b/fast. On arrival allocated room had not been prepared but fortunately another room was available and the upgrade offered was appreciated.
Cons: At b/fast on Day 1 there was no yogurt available and a refill of coffee was not offered. When requested on Day 2 a refill of coffee was forthcoming. Sunday evening restaurant fare was limited to pizza only and g/f not available so we ate out.

Cons: Everything was fine !
