10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel offered amazing service and all the staff were happy to help. The grounds are beautiful as is the hotel. We loved our stay
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything - just wish we could have used the main restaurant
Cons: main restaurant
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming staff at the reception, valet parking and porters. Hotel feels very luxurious and the spa was lovely, biggest indoor pool I have seen in a spa. Breakfast had a good selection of foods and a great setting in the glasshouse restaurant.
Cons: Rooms felt very corporate and perhaps a little run down. Bulb was flickering in the bathroom and pictures in the corridors were barely clinging to the walls by loose raw plugs. Considering they have a spa , I would have expected better bathroom bits, no bubble bath either! The Stables restaurant felt a little like a chain pub and service did not compare to the main Hotel. The salmon we ordered was very dry and the vegetables were overcooked. Breakfast as mentioned had a good variety of food, although some of it could have been hotter and we had to wait a while for some items to be replenished.

Cons: Mainly not great value for money for everything they offered.

Pros: The surroundings and the grounds. The glass house restaurant reminded us of Dubai and Jemeriah beach world restaurant
Cons: Bed was not as comfortable as it should have been for a hotel off this quality

Pros: Comfortable beds. Clean. Room ready at check in time. Efficient check in. Convenient well priced car parking
Cons: Rubber bath matt a little old/grim ... needed replacing urgently. Windows didn't keep out road noise.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Lovely room, great service. Very close to the Harry potter tour - exactly what we needed.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was nice, clean, had a nice/good bar and restaurant and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was also a perfect location for what we required (close to Harry Potter Tours and close to a train station with a direct train into London)
Cons: My only criticism was the double bed was a little small, although we may be spoiled as we have a very large bed at home.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, kids eat free, Starbucks in the lobby, it was a perfect spot for a couple of nights while visiting Harry Potter Studios.

2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, large clean and comfy rooms, excellent food. Staff couldn't do enough for you.
Cons: Requested accessible bathroom on booking yet didn't get one. Paid bill in full on departure but was charged the difference between preortherised amount and bill amount on top of full bill price and wasn't refunded for a week. Plus wasn't impressed that you now have to pay an extra £5 per person to have breakfast in your room even though we had paid for it inclusive on booking on top of the tray charge as well.

Overview Reviews

8.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff went OUT OF THER WAY to be accommodating, helpful, friendly and generally go "above and beyond" to provide outstanding customer service. Deputy Manager Rob was wonderful as was Ellie and the rest of the staff!!!!!! I also would like to compliment the wait-staff at the breakfasts--they were AMAZING--couldn't do enough for us...every morning and every day of our stay. Jury's Inn is to be commended on their staff training and customer service policy!!!
Cons: The room assigned to us left a lot to be desired. The room we PAID for an upgrade for, was much, much better.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, very comfy beds, good variety for breakfast
Cons: Sticky marks on the bed side table that I had to clean myself and long hair strand in the mug
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service offered by staff room spacious very clean. Fantastic location for our visit. Nice quite areas dotted about bar and reception areas. I will definitely use Durys Watford again. Thanks for looking after us.
Cons: Room was very hot on arrival. Noise from plug in sink plumbing waste. After sink use if did have a loud dripping noise for a while. Breakfast area air con a tad cold.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The hash browns
Cons: The 3rd bed in the room that we booked was a put up camp bed, not what we expected ... the fact that it was wonky and missing several slats was unacceptable. The bathroom was filthy. The staff were rude. The tea terrible and we as customers were miserable. Horrifying experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly helpful staff good location very nice stay. Comfy beds and quiet x
7.1 Good
Pros: Location was very good with just a 10 minute walk to the train station. The carpark that the hotel uses was close by and very secure. We left our car there for 3 solid days as we used the excellant train service. The cost for parking was just £4 per day with the hotel discount. We had a family room and pleased to see that the second bed was a full size single and not a fold away. The breakfast choice was very good and plentiful from healthy to not so healthy, setting us up for the day.
Cons: Our stay was for 3 nights: 1st night came back to the hotel room after a long day in London just after midnight to find the room window had been left wide open my the housekeeper. As it was near to zero outside, the room was freezing and took an age to warm up. 2nd day, first breakfast on a arrival found that there were several tables free, however all were still covered in used plates, cups etc. I asked the waiter if he could clear and prepare the table for us. 10 minutes later the table was still not cleared so we decided to do it ourselves. Rest of the morning breakfasts during our stay were very good so put the hick up down to a busy Sunday. The only other issue we had was the fire alarm decided to go off in the middle of the night. Fortunately a false alarm, unfortunately getting back to sleep afterwards proved difficult.
7.1 Good
Pros: After this we complained and they sorted our rooms out Breakfast was good Rooms were clean Staff were friendly enough
Cons: We got to the hotel at 11am ask if it was ok for a late check in, they said no problem, We then came back at 10 30pm and we got given random rooms cause apparently its first come first serve, which was very upsetting as we were there before check in and nobody said anything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly even ordered us a taxi to the tube station from the hotel. Really close to excellent shopping centre, 2 mins walk and close to Harry Potter studios. A Harry Potter bus takes you there from Watford Junction. The hotel left a birthday card and sweets in the room as it was my daughter's birthday which was a lovely gesture. A member of staff asked if we wanted fresh milk delivered to the room when we checked in and it was delivered within minutes of us arriving in our rooms. An excellent stay, lovely and quiet at night and memory foam mattresses so thank you x
Cons: We would not change a thing

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfy - the black out curtains made it a lie in very easy!! The spa area was lovely and relaxing!!
Cons: Only small gripe was noise levels from other rooms though somewhat unavoidable!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing customer service
Cons: All of it
7.5 Good
Pros: The room and petals laid on bed for lour specisl occassion
Cons: Menu changed.my slow cooked beef was no longer on new menu. My smoked cheese was no longer available at breakfast. Spa was busy and messy, shower was dribbling water, jacuzzi bubbles dirty. No upgrade except to members so im puzzled why my room rate increased.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was amazing and everything very clean with very attentive staff - even putting a card and roses in our room for our 35th Wedding Anniversary ...
Cons: There were a couple of silly areas where the maintenance of the place really let them down - in our bathroom which was out-standing and immaculate - where the magnifying mirror hit the wall there was a tatty stopper hanging off the wall - in the ladies toilet by the brasserie - back of the doors were scratched and shoddy ... we only stayed briefly one night so didn't use any of the amenities so I couldn't comment on them. However, the standards were so good these little areas stood out and just needed to add the final standards for the place to be first class...
7.0 Good
Pros: The location for us was great as very close to London
Cons: We were given a complimentary late check out by reception, but from 12 o 'clock we had repeated knocks on the door by cleaning staff and who knows who else. The knocking continued and continued so calls into question the communication between reception and the staff
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff were friendly and the hotel well presented. The room service was also good.
Cons: The steam room and hot tub facilities int he spa were not working.

7.0 Good
Cons: Poor fruit, limited, powdered scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon in heater for ages
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room. Breakfast could have been better in that the bacon was a bit wishy washy (sitting around a while probably) and there were no fried eggs. The only problem was that the two female staff were clearing up all the time whilst I ate into a food lift/dumbwaiter and were making a hell of a din clanging about very loudly.
Cons: It all went very well and I shall return.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location was perfect for my needs.
Cons: The room was drafty and cold (it was December). The heating at full blast did not seem to make much difference
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy location in town centre opposite St Albans Abbey. Warm and comfortable room. Extensive breakfast.
Cons: Hot breakfast food was kept warm under steamers which affected taste and texture of bacon, eggs etc.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good, located close to restaurants, pubs, shopping.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Situated right in the town opposite the lovely cathedral with good links into central London. Well worth a visit.
9.0 Excellent

Cons: Can't think of anything

5.8 Okay
Pros: We complained about the crowded facilities and the duty manager offered us alternative days at the spa for free.
Cons: For an expensive hotel the spa facilities could have been better. Just one pool, a couple of saunas, a steam room, a small jacuzzi and some treatment rooms. It was very crowded, no lockers or robes available.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was comfy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Always helpful staff. Calm but efficient atmosphere. And the beds are amazing - one of the few hotels where I get an excellent nights sleep.
Cons: Nothing
9.4 Excellent
Pros: - Pet friendly - Beautiful building with beautiful rooms and beautiful gardens
Cons: - The kitchen is just regular - We had to queue for the breakfast because the room is too small - We had to reserve even for the 5 o clock tea hours in advance
6.3 Good
Pros: Guess the grounds were good
Cons: centred on event activity :eg spa and afternoon tea and supplying service to special events and group requirements. Not a place to stay for individual hotel guest!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful Hotel in a stunning backdrop. Lovely spa area.
Cons: Noting we didn't like, however be aware that the Country club is a separate building to the Mansion!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all friendly and helpful, everyone seemed to go the extra mile, beautiful building with so much to look at and admire. Food good. Couldn’t fault anything about the hotel.
Cons: Disappointed with the spa appointments, tried to book for Reiki but no therapist available so decided upon an Indian Head Massage and was notified about an hour and a half before that no therapist was available for that so ended up having nothing!
7.9 Good
Pros: Even though the above issues happened, the staff were really good about refunding us with no quibbles. There was an especially nice female receptionist on duty on the Saturday 30th nov, and the waitress in the braserie was helpful too. I have a very painful disability and they found me somewhere to lie down after I'd checked out. That was really above and beyond, they didn't need to do that and they were so kind. And the beds were REALLY comfy, like perfectly squishy and cushioning but not unsupportive. And the grounds and communal rooms are simply stunning- you don't get a full sense of that online, its beautiful. So overall I feel favourably towards Luton Hoo, and there were lots of nice staff members.
Cons: When we arrived it took forever for them to find our booking on the system with lots of calls back and forth, which was tricky as it hurts me to stand. The communal areas are absolutely stunning. The rooms ideally need new carpets and sofa covers as it looks a bit 90s. Suggest looking at somewhere like Fowey Hall for inspo. A low cost freshen up would help so much if there is any budget for it. The food was (sorry to say) all over the shop: Room service Sea bass arrived stone cold and was tasteless Veg curry was nice but tiny amount of rice For breakfast said clearly 'well done egg' and then 'please can the egg not be runny' and it was runny. Brasserie: Soup was crazy salty and my boyfriends mum had to send it back Meals took an hour to come
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food at the Wehrner restaurant was amazing. Beautiful grounds to stroll around. Staff lovely. Excellent service.
Cons: Only thing that would improve the stay would be a bigger bed. It seemed to be a standard double. Given the lovely spacious room, a super king would have been much more comfortable.
6.3 Good
Pros: Beautiful main building, mansion. Fantastic lounge in main building, with fire place etc Dinner was enjoyable and the theatrical nature of the waiting staff when they serve you was highly amusing eg pouring wine in the most extravagant way! Staff incredibly polite and attentive
Cons: Be aware there is a “stables” part of Luton Hoo where they put you if you’re not paying a lot of money for the main rooms on the main Mansion site. The stables is 5 minutes walk away from the main building, and is little decaying and old. This should be made more clearer when you book (there are no grand staircases or marble sculptures there!). We ordered a salad from room service which was nothing more than a few slices of mozzarella and tomato all for an extortionate £12! The shower in our room did not work, so we had to shower in the bath. The mini bar you had to pre order to be stocked. For example, pay £150 up front to have it filled. This is the first time we’ve experienced this at a hotel. It suggests guests aren’t entirely trusted at Luton Hoo. Would be nice to have the choice of selecting items from the mini bar as and when we wanted (as most other hotels in the world do). The spa was surprisingly average, very crowded and no atmosphere.

6.5 Good
Pros: Advantages: +very good location +nice facilities +relatively spacious room
Cons: Disadvantages: -staff misinformed us about time needed to get to the airport and we were rushing out at 04:00 in the morning without having possibility of taking breakfast which we have paid for. Too much focus is paid to shuttle bus connection when in fact it takes 5 minutes to go to the airport. We were 2.5 hours before our flight when we could have had breakfast in easy and relaxed way. Bad information from reception staff!

1.0 Poor
Pros: Nil
Cons: Unfortunately my car broke around 5.30 pm while I was in Birmingham driving down to the hotel, and calling the AA they could not fix it and decided to remove it to my home in Dorchester. I straight messaged that to the hotel and when I got no response I rang them explaining the unfortunate circumstances. The response I got was abrupt completely inconsiderate stating that all the cost would be taken with no refunds. I was in terrible circumstances waiting in freezing cold weather for the AA removal vehicle and I could not say anything more for the man who replied to my call.
7.4 Good
Pros: Location is very convenient. It is across the road from the Apsley station connecting to Midland trains.
Cons: The bathroom sink was not draining properly. Despite being there for 2 nights, the maintenance had not rectified the problem.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was kind, Airport public transportation was easy even though there was nearby road construction The breakfast was good The rooms were clean It was a quiet hotel The beds were comfortable
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Only 5 minutes drive from Luton airport
Cons: Arrived at the hotel to check in, receptionist seemed to be having an off day a little moody. Checked into the room and the ac was on cold at the highest out put so the room was freezing in December, only half of a toilet roll in the room no spear. We decided to go down stairs to the bar and get some drinks. I asked if they had any soy or alternative milk then dairy as I’m allergic to make a coffee. Thinking a big chain like this hotel could accommodate for stuff like this. I do normally bring milk with me but forgot this time. The bar member I asked replied very blunt and said we have none at the bar, so I thought ok maybe you have some in the kitchen since she said not at the bar, so I asked. She just looked at me and really blunt again said No I don’t know, she didn’t offer to check which is fine I left it there. My partner asked for a bottled beer from the frigid, she opened then passed us the beer and the bottle was warm, we told her the bottle was warm even know it was from the fridge strange. She advised to have it from draft so we did. We went to pay for the beer and she charged us for the warm bottle. I stated we didn’t even drink it as it was warm but continued to charge us because the bottle was open, really frustrating but my partner just paid so we can go back up to our room. Ready for bed now let me say I have stayed in hostels and low start hotels and had a better sleep. The bed was so hard, pillows where awful, really thin sheet and my sleep was horrid. When checking out we also had to pay £9 for parking per night which I think is so wrong especially the price you pay per night just for the hotel. My overall experience was awful, there are hotels in the same area for the same price or lower which would give better service then this one. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, excellent breakfast buffet, good food in evening offerings
Cons: Unable to call internationally and night staff had no clue about solving situation.
7.4 Good
Pros: The hotel is in quite a good location for the airport although it did cost us £9 in an Uber to get to the airport the next morning. Continental breakfast was ok but we still had to eat at the airport as not much choice.
Cons: The bed was terrible, every time you eve moved an inch it made a terrible noise so unfortunately we did not sleep very well at all.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfortable room - good vfm
7.3 Good
Pros: The breakfast was a 10/10
Cons: night staff on reception left us waiting for entry into the hotel, until he had finished a phone call. Barman ignored us when we tried to order food and drinks and served a customer who had obviously been in the bar all night giving tips to the staff! Night staff were very poor to say the least!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I did enjoy breakfast, it was great - American waffles, croissants, good coffee (as always in Hilton). Room was simple but good

Cons: Staff don't seem to no how to ad up or run a bar 4 tellys on running sky 1 movie comushels we did get strickly on on saterday after we asked but just takes them so long to get 2 drinks 1 getting you the drink and another one whatching or working out how to get the price up or how you pay for it
