Cons: Forced valet parking fee of $41 a night. Adds up pretty quickly. We stayed in a double/double room (no queens???, come on Edgewater) because the only king room available was over the bar which we were warned would have a band playing until midnight. So, my wife and I ended up sleeping in separate beds. Two adults in a double? Love her dearly but we both appreciate a little space when we are sleeping. We were unaware that the only heat source in the room was the fireplace. It was 90+ degrees so we didn't think about it during the day. Of course it kicked on in the middle when the temperature dropped. Didn't bother me much but it did bother my wife who was roasting since her bed was next to the fireplace. Don't get me wrong, the fireplace is a beautiful touch but would have appreciated a bit of warning about it automatically coming on during the night. Seemed a bit strange that the fireplaces in the common areas were lit even though it was record hot days the whole time we were there. I guess that should have been a clue. The shower head was held on with masking tape. Yes, masking tape. There were water stains on the ceilings. It would seem to me that a bit of paint and a new shower head in a room that costs $500 a night would not be an unreasonable expense for maintenance. Heck, use my parking fee for the weekend, that should cover it.

Cons: Staff wasn't super helpful, but I'm thinking that was mostly because it was the holidays and it was pretty busy The hotel cleaning staff kept on changing the shower head to the one we didn't like and we had to keep changing it back. That was just a little weird. Wish our room had a tub. Thin walls.

Cons: A bit dingy & a little shabby. Expensive waterfront room partly obscured by equipment, and staff not helpful w.r.t. finding alternative room. Bar is very loud but nice location & lively.

Cons: The lack of parking forces you to use the valet at $41/day. A hotel of this prestige should offer a continental breakfast and free coffee in the dinning area. I've stayed at many hotels in this price range that do offer it and parking for guests is free. Definitely paying for the location and name.

Cons: Our water view room had a piece of dock equipment (mobile people gangway or something) partially obstructing of our water view.

Cons: was hard to get ride to ferry using the hotel van as it was on the hour schedule.

Cons: Unexpected fees!!! The parking lot is solely for valet ( only other parking is a parking garage across the street and down a bit, it would be a trek if you weren't parked on the bottom). Valet parking for us was an additional $ 41 per night. They messed up our reservations and put my 17 year old daughter and I in a room with one Queen bed. We had to upgrade to a king (only other room available) $ 40 per night upgrade. Restaurant had good food but we had to pay 5 star prices for 4 star (at best) food ($ 48 for a New York Steak). I had the Cedar Plank Salmon, $38 for an 8 oz. piece. It was mushy and the side was small. Breakfast was better and a little more reasonable. No pool or jaccuzzi on premises. With all the extra fees and the taxes on the fees our two night stay ended up costing close to what a three night stay would have been. I got the feeling that they were squeezing me for more money a lot.

Cons: The mattresses could have been better quality. The linens were nice upgrades but the mattress felt like a cheap budget line mattress. Also, the robes that were offered in the closet were gross to the touch. They should be replaced immediately with new plush robes. I mention that because plush robes are advertised as one of the luxuries of staying in that room.

Cons: Conference rooms are in the basement, making them feel a bit closed-in. Sometimes the elevators are a bit of a wait.

Cons: Town car service offered by hotel way too expensive! Homeless walking on fourth street. Never bothered us, but sad, nevertheless.

Cons: It took us 2 hrs to get our room. I got a text in the morning from Kayak saying the room will be ready for check in at 3pm. We got to the hotel a litle before 4 and they said theyre backed up and it'll be roughly 20min and they'll call us when its ready. My friend and I leave our bags to go grab food at Pikes Market and come back because we had a 5pm rental car. We didnt get a call til 5pm that it was ready. I didnt appreciate that the room wasn't ready by "check in time" because that's 2hrs of our money wasted away in rushing and waiting when i could be in my room already...

Cons: I was really looking forward to sleeping in since the check out was noon... but the maid service started its duties at 9 am... so there went my sleeping in... also... my staying in (do not disturb) card got put under the breakfast menu and I had the cleaning crew come in into my room before I could stop them... even though I had the tag of "conserve and decline maid services" hanging on my door

Cons: The “resort fee” is silly. It isn’t a resort. It’s ridiculous.

Cons: We paid for an upgraded room on a high floor with a city view but our only window faced an office building about 50 feet away across an alley. We could see nothing else.

Cons: We received an email the day before we checked in giving us some choices on room location, early check-in, bed size, etc. One of the choices was "spacious room" which we asked for because there was 4 of us. We weren't expecting an upgrade but sometimes some of the rooms have a little more space than others. We literally got the smallest room available. There was this big huge wall right next to the window. The other rooms had two windows and the additional space. We really wouldn't have thought much of it except for the fact that we requested a spacious room when asked. My point is, don't ask me and then give me an even smaller room than normal. The other problem was there were only 3 towels in the bathroom. Again, there were 4 of us…We called twice to request additional towels. Finally, my husband found a staff member in the hall and asked them to get us towels. The next day the cleaning person left us 3 towels again. Called to request towels AGAIN, no towels. Found the closet in the hall unlocked and got some towels out of there. I also don't like the fact there is no coffee maker in the room. I don't want to have to get dressed to go down and get coffee. For the price, I would like to have someone respond to my requests.

Cons: I didn't like that I wasn't told that there would be an incindental charge on my card for possible expenses incurred in the room. The next day I saw the charge and called the hotel and was then told why. She said it was something we should have been informed of. The charge "fell off" the next day.

Cons: The one lame thing was there is only one elevator, but it is a genuinely old building, and what're you gonna do? It moved fast- you could tell they've made an effort to make it as speedy as possible. And it had a rug that said the day of the week! Which is more reassuring than you might think when you are travelling.
