Cons: Although not crowded during my stay I would imagine the hallways will become very noisy due to the beautifully restored marble floor and half wall wainscot.

Pros: Overall clean, good breakfast. Wifi worked well. Room was modern, but the bed was soft. Had complimentary fridge and microwave which was nice. Would have loved this hotel if traveling for work, but not really the best set-up for a family with a baby.
Cons: Drunk person wandering around front of hotel when we went to check-in at 8pm on a Friday. Had to carry our infant through group of smokers that congregate at the front door (gross.) Nobody manning the front desk, had to find someone to check us in. Only offer valet parking option. The free "crib" provided was just a pack and play, not really good for sleeping baby (or easy to clean!) and overall the hotel was on the noisier side. Also no bathtub in the room for bathing kids.

The location is great, everything is within walking distance, Tower City, the Q, Progressive Field and numerous bars and restaurants. Rooms are newly updated and the hotel itself is under renovation. Try to request a room across the arcade, you get an interesting walk through the top of the arcade as you find your room. Great hotel, with a cool, architecture location. The staff was perfect as well; doing anything to help.

Pros: Comfortable beds, happy hour, free breakfast and great staff.
Cons: Valet parks the cars a couple blocks away in a public lot. Trust me when I say park the car yourself. It takes them over 10 minutes to retrieve each car and when we were there only 1 person was working to run for the cars. We took a walk that morning and watched the valet drivers pathetically meandering to the cars, not jogging or even fast walking. It makes it difficult if you are trying to be somewhere on time. Budget 30-40 minutes to get your car the next morning if you use valet.

Cons: I'm a stickler for good service and the Westin did exactly what they were required to, but nothing more. For example, I asked for a fruit platter & champagne to be put in the room. It was my husband's birthday and it sucked we were stuck in a hotel after a business trip, so I wanted to make it a bit more exciting. Most the fruit was fine, but they didn't pick out the moldy grapes and shriveled berries. There were two glasses for coffee, but provided only one cup serving of grounds. The bag of coffee itself couldn't be opened easily, and since we were traveling, we had no sharp objects. The vanity mirror was broken. Little stuff adds up and I was overall disappointed for a $250+ night.

The breakfast was probably the worst part. They didn't seem to keep the food stocked up so there was scraps left both mornings that we ate there. Our room only had 2 towels, which I found strange, usually there are 4. I had to ask for a 3rd for the 2nd morning. We didn't bother having maid service because they didn't show up until 3pm and by that time we had been out and back and were relaxing for a bit. Valet parking was good but it does cost $20 per night.

Cons: Staff was a bit harried, not helpful when it came to directions. The 90 East is closed right now, making it a challenge to get in and out of there with GPS. Difficult but not impossible. Staff did not seem to know about this and were not a good source of information for alternative directions.

Cons: Did not make up room second day during my stay. Returned to room late afternoon to find no clean towels when we wanted to shower. Front desk said they were behind on laundry and they would run towels up as soon as they could. It was not long after that towels arrived, but to be 5pm and not have made up rooms with fresh towels falls below expectation. Shortly after towels arrived, we were asked if we wanted room service. Late in the evening to be offering, but at least they were checking still.

Cons: First...Parking. Granted, I'm used to downtown areas, but I had no idea that the only parking options here were private surface lots and garages, or paying for hotel valet parking. I guess I'm just used to a hotel parking garage or lot of some sort with permitted or validated parking. On the plus side, the valet rate I was charged was a flat $24 for the entire stay. Not terrible. I didn't go in and out, just walked where I needed to go for the most part.
Second...The staff. For the most part they were friendly, but I arrived in the very early AM and the night attendant almost seemed like they would rather not deal with checking me in (sorry--our system is in the middle of an update...You're going to have to wait 15 minutes before I can check you in).
Third...Overall condition of the property. Not bad, but definitely shows signs of wear and tear and could use a good refresh.
Fourth...The room. It was a nice enough room, but was equipped as an accessible room with an adjoining room, neither of which I had asked for. The bench in the shower could not be completely moved out of the way, leaving the only options to either fold it down and use it or deal with it leaning out from the wall slightly. A clip to keep it folded against the wall would have been helpful.
Finally...Noise. It should have tipped me off when one of the amenities in the bathroom was a set of earplugs. I was given no warning about this. Things were quiet...at first...until sirens started blaring overnight at street level down below. I was clear up on the 6th floor and could still hear them. The last night I was there (remember the adjoining room I mentioned) the group in the adjoining room was either very loud, or this set of adjoining doors had the worst noise isolation characteristics in the world. Probably a combination of both. I finally had to call the front desk and ask them to send someone up.
I hate to be "that guy" but this Hampton really let me down overall.

Second stay....room was dated, carpet appeared to have water damage, bed was old with ruts and was extremely stiff. Called to ask possibly change rooms and were shot down. I understand hotels fill up fast, especially during big events in downtown Cleveland. However, don't ask me my room preference through email four months in advance and again at the front desk when your going to ignore or know you have no intentions of accommodating a single preference. Just be honest and up front about availability.

Cons: This was our second attempt at The Arcade and both times we have requested a bath tub and paid an uncharge for a room with a view. Both times the view that we upgraded to was a concrete wall 6 feet from the window. They moved us to a room with an actual view this time at least, but the room was just cleanish and had no bath. We actually think that this may be the room where employees take breaks as the table had pretty clearly had drinks on it not long before we arrived and the TV was on. If they charged $100 or even $150 for rooms here, it would be fine. In fact, it would be good. For $360 a night though, we were really expecting something more than a few steps above a Holiday Inn.

Pros: The location was good, walking distance to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, which is what we came into town to see. The room was a little small, but they made great use of the space. Everything was clean, and the bed was super comfortable. There was a market attached to the back of the hotel where we got lunch for a more reasonable price than if we had probably found a resturant. Because we were only there for one night they offered us a reasonably priced alternative for parking. We would stay here again if we eve came back.

Pros: Not much actually.
Cons: The yellow stains on the linens. Other stains on the furniture I am hoping were not bodily fluids. The thermostat for the a/c did not work, and after an hour, I figured out how to manually turn it on. Not a very professional establishment. Checking into the front desk was like buying a ticket to a funhiuse.

Cons: The Aloft might have been better for a businessperson looking to make a quick stop in town. The room was very, very small, and the train (our room was on the opposite side of the building, away from the train and overlooking the courtyard/office building) shook the room. All in all, it was ok--but I think we could have had a better experience for what we paid.

Cons: It was next to the Amtrak track, and so was a little more noisy than expected. Bit since I normally wear earplugs to sleep anyway, it wasn't really an issue. Also, there was no dresser, just a small closet, which might be a bigger issue for someone staying more than one night, but wasn't a huge issue for us.

Cons: The only thing I did not like was the party vibe that the hotel seemed to support. Their W XYZ bar stayed open until 2 am and guests returning from their adventures out or at the bar were very noisy returning to their rooms. This is not really the hotel's fault, but guests obviously felt like they could be loud and disruptive after a night of partying, and I think this speaks to the hotel's atmosphere.

Cons: Only 1 choice for breakfast, all you can eat for about $12. Tried to get a drink at the bar after an Indians gamed on a Sat. night, only 1 person working the bar and no waitresses. The bar was mostly full, but we sat at a table. Asked for a wine list at the bar after being ignored waiting to order a drink. " Didn't have one and the wines are right there", pointing to a shelf in the back. Of course we left. She wasn't getting our business there. Another couple left without getting a drink before us too.
The bed was soft and lumpy and uncomfortable and the pillows were too soft. I'll stay somewhere else next time.

Cons: The only thing I wasn't too happy about involved cleanliness, specifically the towels and sheets/blankets. A few towels had some sort of dirt on them (though luckily there were plenty to use instead), and I noticed what looked to be like oil/grease stains on my blankets. Really the only negative thing about the entire experience, definitely could have been worse!

Cons: Valet parking fee was expensive. We booked through an online service thus our breakfast was not included in our room reservation. For what we paid $$ it should have been included as there were no sporting events thus low vacancy. It was still a long walk to many attractions that we wanted to go to but if you are going for basketball baseball or convention center it would work.

No in-room fridge, room service closed early (only have it until 11pm, but no one answered the phone even before that at 10:50 pm). Staff was courteous, location was great; but completely unimpressed with the cleanliness of our room (or lack thereof).

Cons: This hotel is in a run down looking part of town and doesn't feel very safe. It's physical presence fits in with the other run down buildings there. There were broken windows on the hotel as we pulled up. The first key we got was to a room that was already occupied, so we had to go back down and get another key. The room smelled horrible. The towels and pillows weren't exactly clean. Under the beds had not been cleaned either as there were crumbs and dust under them.

Cons: I will start off by saying I think Kayak should remove this hotel as an option from their customers. I booked and paid for three nights, however I slept there the first night. I crashed with a friend the remainder of my stay. Walking up to the hotel, by looking at the windows, I thought the building was abandoned until I saw cars in the parking lot. there was dried blood on the sheets (washed and dried into the sheets) when I checked in. They didn't change my sheets after the first night, but simply made the bed. whenever the room adjacent to me used the sink, I would hear this reverberating sound that resembled a jack hammer crushing concrete. When I say whenever, I mean EVERY TIME they used their sink. Between the severely stained carpet (which by the feel of it you can tell the dirt was permanently caked and embedded in the fabric) and the smell of the hallway and the hotel room (I don't know how they managed to produce two separate but equally deplorable scents), I honestly felt like I had to take a shower after staying there in order to feel clean. The only reason why I did not complaints the hotel staff/management is because it is apparent that this is a permanent characteristic and not an isolated incident or unique circumstance.
