When we asked about access to the Sky Lounge, the staff at the ground floor seem like mocking at us when we were only wearing sandals.
comfy bed . Clean too.
Location was ok.
No iron in room which makes it annoying for business travellers. Iron they eventually sent was broken and stained shirt. Then later called at 10pm to ask for it back - unprofessional. Very worn out rooms in desperate need of a refurb. Door to room didn’t shut when left due to latch. Shower temperature too hot. Toilet seat doesn’t fit bowl. Breakfast not great. Check in slow. Staff indifferent. Avoid. Better hotels at this price point.
The room was fairly big, had some english tv channels and a nice big window, if you were in the other tower you would have got a great view of the Marina Bay Sands but in our tower it was blocked, we could see a couple of lit up buildings and the cathedral though, and overlooked the pool. Pool was also really nice- just wished the hours were longer. Bellhops were very helpful, reception staff were a bit lacking in friendliness.
We really wished the pool hours were longer. The best time to see Singapore is really at night because it is so hot during the day its almost unbearable to walk around, whereas at night it's quite pleasant, and everyone goes out to see the light shows and get dinner. The last Marina Bay light show (out of 2) ends at 9.15, after which we would head back to our hotel wanting nothing more than a nice swim after feeling so hot and sticky even at night. But unfortunately the pool is completely closed by 9pm, and the towel service ends at 8pm so really you can't go for a swim anytime after 8. This didn't really make any sense to us since everyone would get back much later than that, and the pool is right opposite reception, with a glass wall on the side so the 2-3 reception staff that were there could easily see if there were any issues, there was another pool on the side which they could have closed earlier and left the main visible one open longer. We were a bit disappointed when checking in at 7am after arriving at 6am (obviously not ideal) that no attempt was made to get us into a room any earlier than 2pm, no offer to call us if it became available or come back at 1 and see, she just said by 2 it will be ready. The next morning the cleaners were there very early and promptly so our room or a room was probably ready for ages. Also wasn't any tourist info that we could see at reception, not even a map, would have been helpful as we were only there for a couple of days.
Numbers of tourist groups and football teams, scrum like breakfasts, noisy corridors, poor tv options, difficult access due to confusion as to which entrance is the entrance, small crowded foyer.
