6.0 Good
Cons: The rooms are usually way too warm with no way to cool down. Summer stays are probably ok, but I will avoid during heating season
4.0 Okay
Pros: The bar
Cons: The hotel needs attention with repairs and overall appearance. Not at a 4 star level. Room was worn down and so warm/hot and we were unable to change thermostat. Very uncomfortable as we were so hot we could not sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view, accommodated early check in, right downtown.
Cons: $24 to park is too much, though there was ample heated parking.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Booked a king and booking.com gave us 2 queens?
6.0 Good
Pros: I was pleasantly surprised the Hotel did not charge for parking in their Ramp. They also supplied a "pass" ticket to use for any time I needed to leave then return to the ramp. The bed was very comfortable. The Bathroom and facilities were very nice. The Breakfast in their nice restaurant was very good.
Cons: The Hotel and decor was dark, bordering on dreary and depressing, but the weather was a bit gloomy as well. I was disappointed that there was not a pool or jacuzzi. I booked a "Riverview" room for extra $, but when I got to the room...it had a view of a brick wall. Then went back to desk to inquire....they told me it would be $20 more for a room with a Riverview. I hate when that sort of thing happens, especially when it was obvious the hotel was not full.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The restaurant was wonderful. Location was perfect.
Cons: I wasn't able to actually sleep at the hotel. Wall between mine and some late night partiers was thin or non insulated for sound. Was like they were in my room. I could hear and understand multiple conversations. Front desk manager was unsympathetic and straight forward to put blame on me for not calling earlier.
1.0 Poor
Pros: clean
Cons: noooooo way was that queen bed. parking garage was a nightmare, staff clueless, never again
5.0 Okay
Pros: Likes that it was close to excel.
Cons: I paid for a double room and got a king bed. The lady would not change it, not cool when it’s you and your teenage son staying 2 nights. I paid a lot of money and should have got what I booked. My friend who was staying also had a hard time with her room. And she found blood stains on her sheets.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I was there for the state boys hockey tournament so the location was great.
Cons: I paid over $100 for parking which is plenty steep. However, I realize that parking during the state tournament is complicated.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Close to the Xcel Center.
Cons: Paid a little extra for the King Feature room with a river view. I hate to see what the standard room was since this room was barely big enough for the bed and nightstand. Also- the view was of the alley behind the hotel. Not the river.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient Downtown location on Skywalk- close to Xcel Center and great for modern feel. Great food at Citizen Restaurant- and friendly staff. Room had a great view of the Mississippi River.
Cons: No issues.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, good location, staff was helpful and pleasant.
Cons: Wish they had on-site parking, and the staff should ensure that the alarms on the bedside clocks are turned off - mine went off at 6:00 am.

1.0 Poor
Pros: nothing
Cons: Worst experience in my life. Room had blood stains on the wall, bed was ready to fall apart, we arrived at 8:00 pm and left before 10:00 pm after 6 policeman were pounding on door beside us. They laughed as we were leaving stating this was a quiet night!
1.0 Poor
Pros: Worst place ever ! Manager made inappropriate comments, people selling and offering drugs, room was not worth the money stains on sheets and towels looked like pupil hair in the towels room smelled like cigarettes it was supposed to be non smoking throw up in hallway crack cocaine being offered and sold in the building my room was facing a broken down abandon store lot! Saw numerous people roaming hallways no security! Employees couldn’t answer questions about general things to do in or around the st.paul area! Traveled on Amtrak train got to St. Paul by midnight How to check into that hotel because it was the only one available everything else is booked up I had two-year-old child with me and I’ve never stayed somewhere more horrible in my entire life the place was disgusting the service was unforgivable the manager was inappropriate one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had to go through especially traveling with a child peoples animals with me and contain they were barking and screaming at people like it was the worst of the worst hotels
Cons: Everything it was horribleWill never ever ever ever go here or recommend anyone to go there and stay for children unsafe and people worst place ever
1.0 Poor
Cons: Well I booked. When I got there they was full. Said y'all always still book. It was late, car broke nd had a 4 yr old nd all our stuff out of car to be told "full". Mind you we was dropped off by a cab. So there goes more moneyfor cab elsewhere. Bad
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was cool, except it wasn’t explained to me that if I pay with my debit card that I’d be charged half at the time of arrival and half once I check out. This caused my account to go negative because I had other pending transactions that not gone through. In these days and time, it’s imperative that companies as such exhibit a level of transparency. I monitor my spending quiet often and glad I have a great banking facility, they were the ones who explained the process. Other than that, I had a great stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: They did updates. So its nicer.
Cons: Loud. Rude people
4.0 Okay
Cons: It stunk and it wasnt very clean
5.0 Okay

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Historic and fancy
Cons: Wish they had a pool But not sure how had they retrofit one.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were only there for one night but they took care of us
Cons: The extra to pay for parking but the fact that we could get to our car or be taken anywhere we wanted to go was amazing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Always nice to stay at the St. Paul Hotel. Breakfast is a high point!
Cons: I had booked a deluxe double and had confirmation in hand. We were given a room with one King - which would have been awkward for my father in law and me. When I spoke with the man at the front desk about this, he said he would not be able to change rooms for us and suggested that I must have called and changed the reservation from doubles to a king. After a second trip to the desk seeking resolution, he admitted that the error was on the hotel's side and he would pass the issue to his manager. Ultimately this was resolved and we were given the correct room, but this is not what I've come to expect from The St. Paul Hotel in nearly two decades of staying with you.
9.0 Excellent
Cons: Thought the fee to park overnight $30 was a bit high for the market (St. Paul) and then not enough staff in AM to get car so we waited about 15 minutes.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly. The rooms were very clean. The food in the bar was amazing!
Cons: The pillows were very thick and hard. It was hard to stay comfortable throughout the night.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Historical charm, excellent staff.
Cons: Don't pick up anything off the refreshment bar!!! It automatically charges you!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel. Staff was fantastic.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION The staff was very helpful and polite.
Cons: Not very many amenities. I would like free breakfast. Access to my vehicle once parked would be nice too.

Pros: We enjoyed the lobby as we had a bigger group and we were able to hangout there and it was still fun.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great.
Cons: If anything. Paying for parking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stay here often as it was close to Gillette hospital. We will stay again. We are very comfortable here. They do charge a $10.00 fee for parking. The breakfast is always good.
Cons: When I checked in the 2 girls at the counter were arguing about a mistake that one of the girls had made.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location was great! It was close to the Excel Energy Center where we were attending a MN Wild Game and there were tons of food + drink options nearby!
Cons: The paint on the walls of our hotel room bathroom were peeling and the property felt like it had been cosmetically updated to cover how old it really is. When we were finally able to use the hot tub (the first night it was full of kids until almost 10pm) it was luke warm. The breakfast was pretty mediocre, but it was included in the cost of the room so it didn't bother us too much - we went out in St. Paul for brunch instead. If you are booking, I would ask to get a room on the Capital side - we were on the highway side and it was pretty loud all night (which didn't bother us, but could if you are a light sleeper)
8.0 Excellent

6.0 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: Almost slipped in the shower because there was no floor mat. Deffianly could have really hurt myself. Also when I called for a new sheet they brought me the wrong size. So I cslled back and they got it right. But Then all of a sudden I have tons of sheets and blankets in the room. Then the chick didnt even look me in my eyes or say much and walked away quick. 8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was convenient. It was quiet throughout the night. Appreciated the breakfast each morning.
Cons: We were looking forward to the hot tub, and it was nice, but looked pretty dingy, like it had not been cleaned in a while, and the jets shot water up along the wall instead in towards the people sitting in the tub.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were always close by for any questions or concerns. The staff were very accommodating, and worked very well with my check in times.
Cons: The only problem I had seen was that the parking lot was very icy and slippery even though the last couple days have been well above 32°, and there are a lot of thick snow/icy areas making it sketchy to get in and out of cars.

1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing was good about this hotel
Cons: This hotel is not safe for guest. The place has lots of drugs going on and you can smell it everywhere. It's almost like people are living there. At night there was lots of screaming, fighting, people tripping on drugs. Not a safe place for people.

Cons: Horrible place. Will never stay here again. Not worth the price
1.0 Poor
Cons: I was asked to place a 320.00 cash damage deposit. I was charged 203 dollars instead of the 163 the reservation was for when I booked it. I will be filing a dispute. Horrible dirty place. Didn't even stay. Pool was not open.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: the price
Cons: there was damage to the bathroom sink; the tv did not function until hotel staff came in to fix it; there was a great deal of violent noise in the hallway.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Check in & check out was easy and fast. Room was clean & had comfortable beds.
Cons: The walls are too thin between the floors. The people below us were talking/shouting so loudly it felt as if I was in the room with them. Also when I checked in they told me my room#. Then after midnight someone is knocking at my door then later they got a key & opened my door which scared me out of my witts. He didn't even announce who he was and told me I wasnt supposed to be in here. I figured he was hotel security per his shirt he was wearing. Now I'm at the front desk & was told once again I wasn't supposed to be in that room. Their tone made it sound as if I was in the wrong even though they told me which room & handed me the key card. Excuse or not you told me there was a mix up & that room# so and so was supposed to be my real room & not my current room. So overall this was the worst experience ever! Honestly, if I was originally put in my "correct" room# my experience could of been better.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and spacious rooms. Friendly helpful staff.
Cons: Parking fees.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room and secure
Cons: Had to pay for parking or valet. I probably would have made a choice for a different location had I known that in advance.
6.0 Good
Pros: The space the bed and shower
Cons: My card was charged twice
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel itself is a such a great piece of history, it’s great that they have kept a lot of the original post office doors and Art Deco theme throughout the building. The ceilings are super high! It was insane! The amenities are great and the breakfast was quite delicious in the morning. I also appreciate the later check out.
Cons: I woke up in the morning and wanted to take a shower and the water barely came out of the shower head. Had taken a shower the night before so I know it worked normally but for some reason it was very slow running in the morning. I tried at 9am and ended up staying until noon to keep trying because I need a morning shower. Well, no luck.. I asked the front desk and their excuse was it was an old building- which doesn’t really seem like I should have to suffer for. I paid for the hotel room, shouldn’t I be allowed to shower when I want?

5.0 Okay
Pros: My room was very pleasant. I like the location and have always been satisfied with the hotel until this trip.
Cons: If you plan to operate a lounge w/food you need staff to do so. Last night you disappointed guests at the lounge and people checking in. One person can’t operate both and expect great customer satisfaction. My TV did not work, I went to the front desk and while she was being pulled in both directions she managed to give me new batteries, but that did not help. I decided not to bother her again, customer satisfaction was poor!!! I overheard her tell someone that she was the only person scheduled, so it was not due to someone calling in sick.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Front desk staff was pleasant.
Cons: Hard to fairly assess the whole facility because so much was closed do to COVID-19, but all in all, I felt it was way too expensive. The accommodations, and the appearance, are closer to a 2.5 or 3-star hotel; not a 4-star. The parking lot is very shabby, and the hotel entrance is easy to miss.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: It was a railroad property turned into hotel...located in middle of abandoned very large Railroad industry complex of 19 & 20 th century...BUT it was empty of visitors and staff and had no staff at front desk, lobby or main building when I arrived to checkin...It was dark & empty..so one answering phone. I sat alone in vast lobby & tried to phone this property hoping to find a human to answer! Scary place.
Cons: Rooms nice...facility looked newly eenovated...but remote and empty. Breakfast was staffless... self serve coffee, donuts and cereal..self make waffles appeared available...LITTLE OR NO INTETPRETATION OF SITE..NO SELF TOURS, DESCRIPTIVE SIGNS . PHOTOS, MAPS AND ACTUAL PRESENTATION AND CONTEXT OF SITE WAS AS ABSENT AS ANY STAFF.
5.8 Okay
Pros: I love the convenience of this location as it is near my daughter and son in law when we visit.
Cons: The bathrooms in the room were not extremely clean. There were spots around the door and in the bathtub. If questions about house cleaning they gave me erroneous information. The house cleaner was very sweet but the desk staff were not extremely friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was extremely satisfied with the location the cleanliness the staff and the breakfast was absolutely delicious the hotel was lovely I could not ask for a better hotel.
Cons: I'd I could get a complimentary stay at the best western hotel, I feel that that sounds be TBD only thing that would make my stay any better. Oh I forgot, they also changed me got two nights that I don't stay at the hotel.

1.0 Poor
Pros: Front desk staff was helpful.
Cons: 1st room reeked of smoke & a bad attempt to cover it, closet doors were off their tracks, light fixtures were laying out on table & bathroom counter. 2nd room, door latch & key reader were damaged, breakfast cereal spilled on tabletops, too hot & no air.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice pool area. Helpful staff.
Cons: There was no maintenance so a couple of issues—burned out light bulb, icy patch where my husband fell could not be taken care of. My parents switched rooms twice because of door locks that didn’t work.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The room and all facilities was very clean.

Cons: I booked online for a busy weekend and although they did find a room for us it was someone else’s that they took because we got there first. I felt bad if the person had actually come. And since my online booking was “guaranteed” I don’t feel very comfident that they actually respect that. Second of all the cleanliness was aweful. It’s one of those places where your very afraid to touch things. I am still great full for actually being able to get a room and that the man was willing to accommodate but would not recommend unless it’s your last result.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The staffs customer service. There was no Water pressure
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly. Room was very clean with a nice firm bed. Great value for the price charged. A lot of working people stay here because of the value.
Cons: Toilet area in my unit 423, probably needs new wallpaper as this was the only part of the Room that smelled like a former smoking unit. It would be nice if the breakfast had a protein item included like eggs or yogurt or cottage cheese. Mostly carbs.
2.2 Mediocre
Pros: It was cheap. Breakfast was ok.
Cons: Pretty much everything. The bed was broken, tv had almost no signal, key cards had a 50/50 chance of working or not. Found a cockroach crawling up the shower drain. Tub was ruined, had cracks, gouges, and discolored very badly. Carpet was soaked, and the ac unit in room barely worked. Only ever had 2 employees actually be helpful, the manager and an early morning employee. The two guys I dealt with the most never seemed to know what to do, one of them constantly left to be with friends.

Cons: I woke up in the morning and wanted to take a shower and the water barely came out of the shower head. Had taken a shower the night before so I know it worked normally but for some reason it was very slow running in the morning.

Pros: Pillows & bed were very comfortable Breakfast was great. Morning waitress was excellent. Friendly, helpful & very cheerful.
Cons: Lack of counter space for storage in the bathroom. Room was very hot. We couldn't get the temperature lower
8.0 Excellent
Cons: The shuttle did not come back to pick us up at the Xcel center and no one answered the phone at the property .. for at least 40 minutes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We needed to get to the hospital before breakfast opened in the morning. Staff was great, she made us a breakfast takeout. Was wonderful because without that we would have gone without eating until around 3 in the afternoon.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: The door on our room sounded like a gun going off every time it was shut. Staff was notified upon checking out. The restaurant was very slow at service even though we sat within eye view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff helping with breakfast the morning of the 18th...Hotel employee was the nicest lady. Very helpful and the most genuine person.
6.0 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: Almost slipped in the shower because there was no floor mat. Deffianly could have really hurt myself. Also when I called for a new sheet they brought me the wrong size. So I cslled back and they got it right. But Then all of a sudden I have tons of sheets and blankets in the room. Then the chick didnt even look me in my eyes or say much and walked away quick. Seems weird. Not a big deal just the shower thing mostly
