Picking up at Lihue Airport is slow as molasses, for every car rental company. The lines are sooo long! But once we got our car, everything was great. And we saved quite a bit of money compared to Hertz or Avis.Reviewed 21 Nov 2022

Working with Payless was very easy, efficient and got me on my way in a short period of time. Had a small snafu at first but was handled very professionally and timely. I interacted with two of the rental clerks at pickup and both were courteous, helpful and willing to make sure we were satisfied. Sometimes, during the stress of travel, we forget that there are processes that must be attended to. A little patience and courtesy goes a long way in smoothing these out. Take an hour and fifteen minutes to get a car. First, a 45-minute wait in line and then the another 30 minutes to bring it from another lot and clean it.Reviewed 6 Oct 2022

3 hour wait to get the car. Had a leak in the back right tire I had to fill a few times. Drop off was chaos. They are severely understaffed but taking reservations as if they are fully operational. Cost us a half a day of our vacationReviewed 21 May 2022

The wait to get the car was very long and hot. The car we got was filthy, with windows that would not stay clean due to the gross windshield wipers. The streaks made for very unsafe driving at times. On the plus side, my agent was the friendliest, most amazing person who seemed to make everything okay. I think he name was Alila.Reviewed 22 Aug 2021

It was a crazy experience! They couldn’t find keys to cars, other cars were out of service. They didn’t have any cars available in my category (even though my reservation was made months before). They offered me a larger vehicle (Chrysler 300) that was a gas guzzler & it wasn’t clean. But I have to say it was comfortable & had a lot of power.Reviewed 7 Aug 2021
