6.7 Good
Pros: The bathroom was excellent. Lovely long bath, hot towel rail and plenty of hot water. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming.
Cons: The bedroom was dark, probably the curtains were half drawn for privacy but with wood furniture the effect was a dark room. Breakfast was very efficiently served but the sausages and tomatoes had obviously been waiting to go on a plate. The scrambled eggs were over cooked and the smoked salmon would have been better served on the side. The “Craster Kipper” was a fillet rather than a fresh kipper, it had a strange flavour and left an unpleasant aftertaste. The toast was thin and insubstantial.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: on a scale 1---10 everything got a 10
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent break, ideal location for all reasons, walking etc, visiting Cragside, which is only a short drive away.
Cons: Nothing that comes to mind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room with everything provided, great food and served up in timely fashion with a friendly smile.
7.0 Good
Pros: VERY good breakfast in a nice farmhouse which is set in a good rural setting. Our room which was in a different building was spacious but slightly old fashion with the décor, facilities, etc and had some noise intrusion from the rest of the house. staff very friendly.
Cons: Small improvements to our bed and bathroom needed for excellent rather than good review.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely welcome cuppa in the guest sitting room. All the little extra comforts in the room e.g biscuits, fresh milk, binoculars. Lovely bathroom and shower accessories. Breakfast choice.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view from the breakfast table. Nice breakfast, cleanliness of room. Comfortable lounge. Pleasant staff.
Cons: Narrow roads with the occasional passing places to get to the b&b. Our room was a short walk from the main farm house where you went for breakfast. Our lounge was also remote from our room with a short walk to get there, not a problem for us but possibly could be for older people, especially when raining or in the dark. There was however a light to aid the short walk back to the room.

Cons: Bedroom was a big cold at first but fine after putting on heater for a hour.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Karen was a fabulous host very friendly and full of local knowledge and her black pudding was to die for ! X
Cons: View of river was restricted but you could just see it x
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was superb, but star of the show was Karen, the owner of Mill House. Nothing was too much trouble, and her local knowledge and recommendations were spot on.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Boutique accommodation with a perfect host and extraordinary breakfasts. The perfect B&B!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We just loved it here. Karen is so friendly she can’t do enough for you she goes out of her way to help you. This B & B a must stay
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in August 2019 for one day at Mill House. Karen was very friendly and accommodating. She even reserved a table for dinner in a nice restaurant nearby. Our room and her house in general were very nice and we would have liked to stay longer. Also the breakfast was excellent. We even were allowed to briefly wash our car because it was a bit dirty from our over 1000 miles long journey (we are car freaks^^). Thanks again for the nice stay. We would come again at any time!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was exceptionally good. A generous suite of spotlessly clean rooms, decorated tastefully in “French Chateau” style. Everything one could possibly require was there, in a peaceful rural location, but not too far from restaurants etc. Breakfast was wonderful too - lovely food, carefully prepared and presented. The hostess was delightful and couldn’t have been more helpful.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is a charming and delightful place and we had a wonderful stay on our way to Edinburgh. The room was really comfy and we were guided to a fantastic restaurant nearby for an evening meal. Breakfast was sensational.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent helpful hostess with a thorough knowledge of the area ,places to visit and where to eat. Beautiful rooms and plenty of choice at breakfast.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.

Pros: Huge room, good food, friendly staff.
Cons: All good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Well located with plenty of parking
Cons: Would be been perfect had the wood burning been lit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very good visit could be better signposted from the main road
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Huge bathroom, lovely room and comfy beds. Great bar and restaurant. Joined the locals for their quiz night and made to feel very welcome!
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Fantastic accommodation.
Cons: Great hotel but massively disappointed by the fact they host a quiz night with DJ until 10;30pm.... My room was above the bar therefore unable to relax nor sleep until after 11pm. I was offered a different room on complaining but declined. Advice for future, maybe put your residents in the alternate room in the first instance. If we remove the above issue it would have been an excellent experience as accommodation and location were fantastic.
Warkworth House Hotel - Morpeth - Building

₹ 11,942+
Overview Reviews
Located in Morpeth, Warkworth House Hotel is within a 15-minute drive of Warkworth Castle and Alnwick Garden. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, staff all very friendly, will definitely return,
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and tidy, excellent service, good food and good location. Real ale as well.
Cons: Parking at the hotel was limited but parking available about 200 yards down the road.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location for touring Northumberland and seeing the many sights. We were able to take in Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick, Amble and Cragside without breaking a sweat. The staff were very attentive and friendly; the food was excellent; the bar prices were reasonable; the bed was comfy (we rarely find that to be the case); the room was cosy and well equipped; and we'll definitely consider staying again if we're back in the area in the future
Cons: Car parking was extremely limited. There are only 6 or 8 spaces at the rear of the hotel. However free parking was available a short walk away so it really wasn't a big issue for us, whereas it might be for anyone with mobility issues
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional staff, nice rooms and fantastic food
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, handy for nice village pubs, castle, old bridge. Good evening meal - we had lamb and Thai green curry. Decent breakfast. Helpful friendly staff. Also recommend the Mason’s Arms for evening meal - reservation not possible.
Cons: Hot water in the room wasn’t hot. First night it was just about warm - resorted to topping up the bath with kettles of boiling water. Second day - morning shower was tepid at best. Cheese board (£8.50) was offered with two cheeses - a crumbly plain flavoured Lancashire and a big slab of a smoked cheese. We sent that back. Maybe let guests know you’ve a limited selection and perhaps offer at a reduced price? Just a thought. I was a bit disappointed to pay full whack despite commenting on the water temperature. It is an old house so expect uneven floors. Characterful. The car park is small - 6/7 cars max. If you’re less mobile and need a park close to the hotel, you might want to think about this.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: staff and breakfast was super
Cons: shower ran cold on both mornings, could here the traffic in our room, next time will ask for a room at the other side
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A Lovely place to stay with dogs with a great beach nearby. The food was excellent for the price and the room was lovely. A very relaxing place to stay.
Cons: Other than the very quite times of year (January etc) it is near impossible to book as it is nearly always full. Other than that it is prefect for us.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location for an overnight stay and a base to explore the rest of the Northumbria coast. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean and decently-equipped.

Cons: The breakfast was very disappointing, especially given the outstanding food the night before. A dry and bland Full English.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfy
Cons: Upon arrival we weren't told about the private function which meant we couldn't dine in the hall or have a drink in the bar, we were offered room service but this came with a £5 extra charge so we did not use this facility. We were disappointed about this.

Pros: Everything
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing to dislike. Everything was perfect
7.0 Good
Pros: The grounds are beautiful Breakfast was nice but poached eggs needed to be done a little longer The lounge is a very nice, warm and cosy room in the winter with the fire lit :) The staff were all very accommodating and friendly
Cons: The price The phone in our room did not work so we had to call the hotel via our own mobile phone for milk which had not been left with the tea & coffee

Pros: The greeting by Graham and Mel was very pleasant and warm. Safe parking area and they were awaiting our arrival and we were able to place breakfast orders for the following morning. The property is very well kept, very clean and comfortable. We had the large deluxe room on the top floor, views are great, especially at sunrise! Bedding, bathroom and sitting area clean and tiny. Just as the pictures. Tv in the room. Toiletries, tea, coffee, water, kettle, bathrobes all provided. Lovely surprise was the extra bed in the spacious room. Breakfast freshly prepared, full English, coffee, tea, toast, cereal options, fruit, juice etc! Perfect! Thanks for a lovely stay! I highly recommend this B&B.

Pros: Mel & Graham were so friendly and helpful to this weary traveller late in the evening when I arrived. Breakfast was wonderful and I wanted more time to enjoy it, but my schedule wouldn't permit...My room was so neat and comfortable I overslept in the morning! I would recommend Northumberland Cottage to anyone and I will stay there again, if I am in the area!
Cons: This does not apply to my stay.

Pros: The owners made us very comfortable throughout our four day visit. On our arrival we were welcomed with tea and cake on the patio at the front of the house where we were able to enjoy views over the valley and countryside. Our room was very spacious and clean. It was well equipped and we were provided with lots of additional items. Breakfasts were delicious with lots of choices. Rothbury is a very good location for visiting local sights or exploring the beautiful countryside.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast from a wide selection menu. The fish - kippers, smoked salmon slice and smoked haddock choice were particularly good, as were the free-range egg dishes. The room was very comfortable with well stocked tea/coffee/chocolate drinks. Recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent, as was the room. We had been upgraded to the suite, which was perfect for our stay and still had the wonderful view from the front of the house. Ian was an excellent host and pretty good breakfast cook, too. If you like kippers, this is the place for you. All the other breakfast options we tried, were great, too
Cons: Only the weather and that none of us can control.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A comfortable room with twin beds of good quality. Good shower and toilet facilities. The staff were extremely helpful and parking space excellent. We needed to leave early on our last day but this was problem and breakfast was provided. The food provided at breakfast was first rate with a wide selection of both hot meals and continental style. A good location close to town shops and places to eat.
Cons: The premises were a little difficult to find and access was available via a very narrow road.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super breakfast - Craster crab omelette, pancakes with hot berries and chocolate sauce. Lovely quiet location, friendly host, good room, great view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent! Great location, quality service, comfy bed, lovely shower and a good breakfast - what more could you want? Some quality special chocolates - a little extra that was much appreciated!
Cons: The road up to The Haven is a bit narrow but we didn't find it too difficult. If a busy holiday period with a lot more traffic then drivers need to exercise caution.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was always the leading hotel in this lovely town but had declined over the years. However, Alison and her staff has returned it to be a genuinely first class hotel catering for discerning guests, markedly different from the surfeit of "pubs with rooms" that are typical of the town. Very comfortable lounge Bar and open plan restaurant supported by a very capable young chef. Not fine dining but way up beyond "Pub Grub"
Cons: Not a thing.

6.3 Good
Pros: The location was ideal
Cons: I should have read the description more carefully. This is a self catering apartment. There are no facilities on site whatsoever. That said, it should not be read as a negative but be prepared to drive somewhere for breakfast or anything else.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: No breakfast included. Location is a bit out of the way which did not bother me as i knew the area well.
Cons: The only i did not like was no microwave, i normally have porridge for breakfast but without cooking facilities i could not heat the required milk. I can understand why cooking facilities are not supplied as cooking smells would spoil the ambience of the room.

Pros: The owners were very accommodating for an early check in Everything was new and refurbished It was pretty comfortable

Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and parking good. Food and room very good. Staff always friendly and helpful.
Cons: Picky, but I suppose breakfast is a bit lonely if you're the only person staying - could have had the TV on or a bit of music playing.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice cosy old fashioned pub with nice friendly locals and accommodating for children. Circumstances were for a funeral with the wake held in a function room there too.
Cons: We rented the family room for two nights which was set out with staggered bunk bed a single and a double. For a family room there was very little places to put things away. A wardrobe under the top bunk was useful but the next cupboard was full of spare bedding. Some shelves in there would be good and some hooks to hang up coats etc. En-suite was very snug too. Shower however was amazing; very powerful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely coach house - hearty food - spacious 5 bed room - friendly staff. What’s not to like?
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was larger than expected and it had a little separate space for tea and coffee making facilities. The beds were fresh and clean and comfortable. The pub downstairs was not too noisy, we had no trouble going to sleep. The staff were well informed, efficient and helpful even when they were short handed in the morning as someone rang in sick. We enjoyed a lovely quiet breakfast and paid for an evening meal in the pub too, local sausages were wonderful and the restaurant evening menu is very good also. I would highly recommend this place.
Cons: The room had a totally necessary door stop in it, and somehow we tripped on it twice. This is probably due to our clumsiness rather than anything else. But it was the only little niggle that we had, everything was great!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff very helpful, very friendly. Located above/around a lovey local pub with open fires , pool table, great seating. Bedroom had mini kitchen between it and the bathroom, very convenient
Cons: Nothing
4.6 Okay
Pros: The family room was a good size with a nice en-suite. Warm and comfortable. Tea and coffee with biscuits was a nice bonus. Fabulous power shower and complimentary toiletries.
Cons: You had to walk in through bar to get to room with cases when we checked in which wasn’t great with children and a full bar. The hotel is a bit dated and in need of some TLC. Doesn’t quite look as good as the pictures make the hotel out to be. I have to mention there was a storm the night we stayed. The wind rattled in through our bedroom window all night. When we went for breakfast the next morning we were told we couldn’t get a cooked breakfast as the oven wasn’t working and there was water pouring down the walls into the sockets. It was an accident waiting to happen!!! I know nobody can control the weather but we’ve stayed in establishments in worse weather and never experienced this before. Faulty Towers comes to mind! The lady ( not sure who she was as never introduced herself?) was apologetic and I did feel sorry for her as there were other guests also in the same situation. We were refunded some money for the inconvenience of not getting a cooked breakfast and only cereal and bread so luckily this meant we could buy breakfast elsewhere. I don’t like writing bad reviews but on this occasion I feel it is justified.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was small but had a fabulous view of Warkworth Castle.....which is one of the reasons we wanted to stay there.
Cons: There were some people in the bar who used unsavoury language.....luckily one of the bar staff quickly rectified the issue.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location of the property and village
Cons: The self service breakfast. Having to get your own tea and coffee from MUGS in a drawer. No coffee or tea pots. Breakfast was nice enough but very quick to ask for your main order as had just sat down. No fresh fruit all tinned. Had stayed elsewhere in Warkworth 2 weeks previous far superior accomodation , comfort and breakfast for £20 less. Would not stay again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location lovely and comfortable and friendly service
Cons: The shower was poor no water pressure

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent (best bacon I've had in a long while). Evening meals good quality pub food. The staff couldn't do enough, but knew when to be discreet. Impressed that the pub was frequented by a substantial number of locals which was good for the atmosphere. Located in Rothbury very close to the National Trust's Cragside which made it perfect for the purpose of our stay. Looking forward to going back in summer.
Cons: Choice of tea at breakfast would have been a bonus but I'm being picky at this traditional plus pub.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is situated right in the centre of Rothbury the room we had the garden room and it had a small sitting room which was a bonus. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food we had on the first night was lovely. The breakfast was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Cons: It was cold in the room when we first got there but it soon warmed up with both electric fires on
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was very good, the young lady on the shift for the day and night was really friendly and helpful, nothing was a problem.
Cons: Nothing
6.7 Good
Pros: Modern & comfortable setting REALLY comfortable bed warm when heating was on. Staff were very nice.
Cons: Some of the decor could of been updated for maintenance purposes IE : modern wallpaper but coming off in quite a few places. Huge draft from under the front door & velux window in the main sitting room. Mould in the shower & around the soil pipe in the bathroom, Bathroom was freezing but these are just simple jobs to do & brings the look of the interior down. Small heater in the main room seemed to be burning the carpet- possible fire risk !!!.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Great atmosphere, with friendly staff and we had a good laugh with the locals.
Cons: The room was cold and you could not increase the heat as there was a single radiator which is poor as we visited in February, the bed was uncomfortable, I would say a new mattress was required the shower was useless no pressure at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed at the Turk's Head at the beginning of February during a foolish attempt to mountain bike over the Cheviots in rain and gale-force winds. My mate and I were absolutely covered in mud from head to toe when we arrived, as were our bikes - some places would've just told us to get lost, but not the staff at the Turk's Head. Instead, they gave us hot water and towels from the kitchen (these were disposed of afterwards!) to wash our bikes down ready for our next day of cycling, stored them in their shed and even washed our muddy clothes for us. Super friendly from start to finish and a very pleasant spot to have a few pints too. I'd definitely recommend the place if you need somewhere to stay in Rothbury.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast and the friendly atmosphere in bar and the evening meal.
Cons: the old windows rattled but it wasnt an issue that would stop me staying again

Cons: I genuinely cannot think of anything that would have made this stay any better. My husband and I were really pleased and comfortable!
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mel & Graham were so friendly and helpful to this weary traveller late in the evening when I arrived. Breakfast was wonderful and I wanted more time to enjoy it, but my schedule wouldn't permit...My room was so neat and comfortable I overslept in the morning! I would recommend Northumberland Cottage to anyone and I will stay there again, if I am in the area!
Cons: This does not apply to my stay.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: In our opinion our stay was outstanding value and we wouldn’t have changed anything

6.7 Good
Pros: The bathroom was excellent.
