Cons: Very slightly disappointed there weren't Bluetooth speakers to plug into for music, however the soothing sounds of the ocean water washing against the rocks below our balcony was much more enjoyable!

Cons: Parking is an extra charge, and the spots are small (pretty standard for California). It was absolutely fine for us (small 5 passenger car), but if you have a standard car you should be fine, but if you have a truck it will be difficult to park. Hotel is wood frame construction, and you could occasionally hear people walking in the room above us.

Cons: Bad plumbing. When a bath was taken, the drain took forever and would occasionally burp up some black junk that stunk. Had to rinse the tub out after it drained because of the smell.

Cons: They need a restruant or step up breakfast.

Cons: Mandatory $10 fee for a five year old to get a $2 crummy breakfast -we ended up paying for a breakfast at the Monterey Inn down the street instead. The place needs a power washing! Gull excrement all over the place and not enough nets to prevent them from hanging out to poop

Cons: Every time we entered underground parking the bottom of our car scraped the rise. This should be fixed. It was our only issue with the location, but serious enough to impact overall reading.

Cons: Street noise was a bit much, i would request a balcony room,that's the only reason it isn't five stars across the review

Cons: I do not know how it is that this place is getting such a high rating... They obviously pay people (or give rooms away) in exchange for a positive review. The stay here was equivalent to Motel 6 experience at best. I won't ever stay here again

Cons: turn out i was issue a room which smell dog, clerk seeing that I didn't have a pet or even ask if i had one issue me one, When we checked in we where surprised with a 15.00 a day parking charge. When checking out I had told the same receptionist about dog smell and noisy traffic side of the room, he apologized and remove one of the 15.00 parking fee. Did question him if he new I didn't have a pet why did he issue me a room for who have pets

Cons: Rooms facing the street are a bit noisy. No minibar, so we pucked up a few waters, snacks and sodas to put in room fridge.

Cons: Breakfast buffet was absolutely terrible and ridiculously expensive. I paid cash for valet parking but they charged me again on checkout. Spa services were incredibly expensive and poor quality.

Cons: During my stay there was construction being done to the hotel, normally that wouldn't bug me except they put me right next where it was and since I sleep with the windows open, constructure woke me up super early in the morning. Even with the windows closed I could still here it. I was on my anniversary with my way during that day and it Kindof put a damper on my experience, especially since I paid over $200 each night I was there.

Cons: Shards of glass on the room floor; freezing temperature when we walked into the room (heater was not on); once heater was turned on, had little to no effect, so we slept in bathrobes and ordered two extra blankets. Hotel is currently under major renovation, so the check-in feels like a motel and there is no entry lobby.

Cons: My room was not ready on time. Extra charges for parking and internet.

Cons: Our one and a half year old daughter found a pill (presumably from a previous guest) in the room and ate it. We rushed her to the ER and thank goodness she was okay. Guests with kids should be aware of this danger.

Cons: There is a lot of construction around the hotel, which makes things loud and busy. We had to wait until after 5 to check in ad still didn't get what we had asked for. There was a large convention there and basically the staff told us that they couldn't do anything to accommodate us. We ended up with a room on a VERY busy street and a toilet paper rack that kept falling on the ground. I was really looking forward to this hotel and was disappointed.

Cons: Jackhammers outside my window at 8am, nonstop construction noise on hotel and conference center next door. Poor service in restaurant. Good location & friendly staff

Cons: Hotel was under construction. It was loud and not the least bit relaxing. We were woken up in the middle of the night by drunks cursing in the plaza area. The carpet in the room was stained. The power went out multiple times and I had one family member get stuck in the elevator. The staff was friendly but my experience overall was not pleasant.

Cons: Power was out, and even though it's not their fault, I wish the staff did more to make us feel welcome.

Cons: Construction was going on outside for their conference center so you have to walk around it a little bit but inside you couldn't hear it from where I was staying along Pacific Street.

Cons: $22 per day for vehicle valet which wasn't disclosed until we checked out. We dropped our car off upon arrival and didn't use it again until check out two days later. This charge should be disclosed in advance.

Cons: I did not like the service. I asked for a bellhop to help take my bags to the car. I waited for about 25 minutes and decided to take the bags myself.

Cons: We only had a single night stay and arrived earlier than the checking time. We were told to hang around for a bit for our room to be ready which just so happened to be 6 hours later. Then we walk into our room to sheets that had stains on them. And let’s not forget parking 3 blocks away and constantly having to walk back and forth to the car and back to avoid paying the $25 valet. Overall the hotel was not worth the amount we paid for it.

Cons: 1. Your ad said I had two options for this type of room: City view or Ocean view. I clicked on city view. In reality, I got a room on the second floor and a view of the building next door and the Subway down the street. VERY misleading ad and application form for your room. 2. I was given the option of a King or Double. The room was for my partner and I so I was hoping for a King. I've never received a double booking as a couple but this time I did. I called front desk to change my room when I got upstairs and they said I never specified King. Your website doesn't give a very obvious space for me to specify King though. 3. The room I was placed in was next to the weight room. It was loud because when people work out, they lick to drop weights which makes a lot of noise. This did not making sleeping very easy. 4. I tried paying for the internet but kept getting error messages. I'm good with computers and I'm certain this was a network issue and not a user error on my part. In short, I didn't get the room I expected, it was difficult sleeping at night bc we were so close to the weight room, there was no internet, and I don't understand how the front desk said I should have specified King bed when your online app form doesn't give me a space for that. I won't be staying at the Marriot any more in the future.

Cons: Room needs to be renovated. Carpet and furniture are tired and don’t feel clean. Bathroom is old and mediocre. Ventilation is poor. Disappointed overall in quality of room.

Cons: As we were checking in, we were told that we had signed up for two queen beds. As this was the one night in over 4 years that we got to spend together without her kids, I had made sure when I reserved the room it was for a king bed. After 10 minutes of negotiating, the lady at the front desk assigned is to a wheelchair accessible room with the king bed. Paying $400+ for the night, we were not very happy with the type of room we were assigned to. The bed itself was very uncomfortable. The mattress was very cheap and sagging on each side. The pillows were made of practically nothing but air. To add to the lovely stay, at 1:00 am we were awoken to the the fire alarm going off and loud flashing blinking lights in our room. The entire hotel had to evacuate and after the fireman came to turn the alarm off, we went back to our room. It was safe to say at this point we wouldn't get much sleep. As we complained to the front desk about our stay, they apologized and offered nothing to us. I will NEVER stay at this Marriott again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Cons: Was downgraded rooms after using an upgrade. Poor greeting on arrival. Attempts at upsell on arrival.

Cons: Hotel is very dated, smells heavily of artificial air freshener, way overpriced (I used 50,000 Marriott points - same as the Ritz on the beach in Santa Barbara?!) - unfortunately the entire area is this way - high demand / low supply of rooms so lots of lousy accommodations for high prices. Expect to pay $500+ for a decent room (not here).

Cons: Room need updated beddings. Preferably all white like most modern hotels. The room where I stayed needs door to be fixed. Looks like door is cracked up even though it is completely shut.

Cons: The wallpaper looked like it was peeling off because it was just slapped up on the walls. They have motion sensor lights in the bathroom and main room and all night the bathroom light was going on and if wake up to turn it off. Went through this 4-5 times and finally just shut the door.

Cons: Would have preferred a table with 2 chairs in the room instead of the desk and office chair.

Cons: Should have taken pictures but at night you could plainly see the outside light through the door frame. Looked like a scene out of Tron. The room had obviously had a lot of repair work for one reason or another but it was plain to see that this work was not done by professionals. Sink had no hot water (shower was fine though) For a non-smoking room, this room sure had a stink to it. The price was way out of line for the amenities.

Cons: Too expensive, food was great, just needed more variety.
