Pros: We loved having breakfast and dinner on our terrace. After being out in the daytime, we felt really lazy and could not be bothered to venture out again. The staff ordered our food from local restaurants for us and served it on our terrace! Food was always excellent. Really good service which we took full advantage of!

Pros: The hotel was absolutely beautiful. With only having a small amount of rooms it was very personal and a nice environment to be in. The breakfast was lovely. The fact you can order local food to the hotel is helpful. The staff were amazing and couldn’t have helped us anymore. Speaking English and some of the staff learning to speak English showed how devoted they are to their job and making people happy. Booking things like transfers and boats was made so easy, the staff did everything and we just handed over the money. If you need to get hold of them via email they are quick with their reply’s. Black sand beach is a 10 minute walk from the hotel and I’d recommend getting out early and watching the sunrise if the jet lag is kicking in and you can’t sleep. Well worth it. The hotel has a map handy.

Pros: We loved the peace and quiet, there are only 15 rooms so it feels relaxed with space between the various accommodation with swimming pools. There are three main pools and other rooms have their own. Property is well maintained and looked. Location only a grab or taxi ride away to other places of interest.

Cons: Villa pool is much smaller than it appears in the pictures. Also as we had breakfast included, your only allowed a certain number of courses each which isn’t outlined when i booked this trip. It’s not ideal especially since I am pregnant and I could have dinner with more food in the morning. The resort do not carry any change incase you want to pay by cash, we were owed a lot of change but the staff did not account for this when we paid our final bill. There are not many ‘safe’ places to eat nearby we had to get Mcdonalds and KFC delivery if we did not want food from the hotel restaurant but the staff assisted with delivery. Would have liked to use the outdoor bath tub but it was pretty dirty when we got there so did not use it.

Cons: Room could be more clean specially the furniture bit dusty and the water heater was very old with durt inside. Rooms are totally different from the one shown in the booking.com at the time of booking. Quality is much lower than the picture.

Cons: The hotel was very large and was constantly noisy especially early in the morning even though it was mostly empty, mostly loud from staff cleaning and chatting to each other below my room as early as 5am. The hotel host regular local weddings and parties (mostly on weekends) where extremely loud dance music that could be heard 2 blocks away, is played through a huge PA speaker system in the gardens and public areas of the hotel as early as 7:30am and all through the day and night with zero consideration to other guests. After two weeks of this on and off the hotel we’re very understanding and agreed to refund me my last few extra days so I could change hotels. Great for Indonesian parties not so great for westerners who expect peace and quiet.

Cons: The breakfast included was only Asian box - cooked rice and vegetables. Some choice would have been nice. Not that they can change that, but there is an elementary school just in front of the hotel, which results in noisy early wake up for the guests staying at this side of the hotel.

Cons: The hotel overall was quite outdated, you can tell it was rather old. The room was really dirty too which was a shame because it was nice a spacious. The aircon made a loud ticking noise all the time it was on and we could hear scratching coming from our wardrobe? I feel guilty leaving a negative comment because the staff were so friendly. Also, you don’t get WiFi in the rooms, you have to go to the reception to use.
