Beds really comfy, great room including mini kitchen (1 bed apartment). Great security feature if only being able to use lift with security pass. All staff very friendly, lots of seating in reception with relaxed vibe. Always kept clean Brilliant location, easy to get a bus from the station, and a short walk into town. Next to the Barbican Theatre, and there is a co op next door too which is really handy for food and drink.

Pros: Very close to city wall and gate, so easy walk into old town. Well appointed facilities - all brand new. Very sparsely ad impersonally decorated, but it worked for sleeping with lights out!
Cons: Windows cannot be opened so need to rely on air con/heating system, which all shuts down when card key removed to go out. No proper detailed instructions for washer/dryer or dishwasher.

Pros: Quiet friendly staff. I was with a slightly disabled friend. She managed quite well but could have done with some help at breakfast.we enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

Pros: Very little. Was on a nice street and it was good it had a bar but that's about it. Really one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at and would not recommend to Americans.
Cons: Rooms were like hostel rooms, the showe had no pressure and you had to stand in the corner to get under it, rough building, dated interior, awful bed.

This hotel was fantastic. The staff on arrival were so welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The pillows were a dream to sleep on. The location is fabulous, just a short stroll around the corner and there is an entrance to the city walls and then past that just down the road is York Minster. The shambles is only a 10 minute walk. 10/10 stay.

Pros: Staff at check-in were friendly & efficient. My room was a good size and well presented. Bed linen was good quality. Lots of clean, fluffy towels in the bathroom. Breakfast was reasonable value and at check-out everything was handled well. Plenty of car parking.
Cons: Beds were a little soft for my preference, and the bathroom decor/facilities were a bit outdated. Bathroom was clean though, and everything worked well.

A very friendly hotel for a young family. The hotel is a little dated though charming overall. Excellent location, easy parking, pleasant view of the racecourse, clean garden for the kids to run around in (aside the tired garden toys), and a very nice renovated spa and pool. Will definitely come again.

Pros: The room was very clean and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is just a short walk from the train station and is just outside of the town centre.
Cons: The room was really small, which was ok for the price but it was quite hard for 2 people to get around the room at the same time.
