Pros: Nothing
Cons: They took a full record of you card and would not let you check in without.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location an food was good .... enjoyed the steak meal special we had last time £20 for 2 no specials this time.
Cons: Needs a lick of paint bit outdated in the bar and breakfast room.....
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Staff were pleasant, Breakfeast OK
Cons: Evening meal was poor , mot really restaurant food. Edible and nothing special. Being woken at 5am by the fire alarm which was left to the guests to sort and cancel the alarm, check the property etc whilst the owners slept away very very poor
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and very clean. Quiet, due to time of year. Good position for reaching the north or south coast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived mid afternoon and the check in was easy. John the young guy on reception was so funny and friendly. We had our dog with us and there are treats for your four legged friends. We had room 15 which had a lovely shower and a nice long bath which for someone who is six foot one, it’s a blessing. The beds are lovely and comfortable and the room nice and warm. There is plenty of clothes space if you were to be staying here for a week or two holidays. Tv, coffee and tea making. One of the best parts is the breakfast, freshly cooked and lovely and hot and was included in the price. Our dog gives the breakfast a 5 star review!!
Cons: Nothing not to like
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect centre for my too brief stay on Dartmoor. Food was good and portions fine.
Cons: Nothing to not like.
5.0 Okay
Pros: staff were friendly, bedding clean, towels and toiletries pack nice touch, car park,
Cons: Our family room was clean but very shabby and just needed a lick of paint, there was mould on the walls by the skylights and around the shower, Small bathroom radiator but no heating in the main room meant the room was cold. We went into the main pub and no staff were visible. We waited at the bar until one of the regulars went looking for the barstaff. Smelt of cigarette smoke everywhere. Wasn`t keen to stay for eve meal or breakfast. Noticed that Wetherspoons 5 mins away had a far superior room for £10 less. Bettys could be really nice but whole place looks tired...sorry!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Value for money
Cons: Took money twice by mistake. V quickly rectified
7.3 Good
Pros: Plenty of parking space. Easy to order meals & drinks.
Cons: The on/off button on my TV in the single room had recessed into the TV,so I had to use a biro to access it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was lovely, room was excellent. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Food was great.

7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely building - an old train station . Good to have a drying room for wet gear.
Cons: Rooms were sparse - it’s a YHA. 4 beds, one chair and 2 sockets. No table/desk/place to hang clothes. No heating in the en suite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was good and just a short walk into town
Cons: Gosh every one moving around in the morning upstairs! It sounded like there was a herd of elephants so couldn’t sleep past 6am!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean rooms, nide friendly atmosphere
Cons: Could maybe have hooks in bathroom to hang up towels
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff were fab
Cons: A washing machine wouldve been great
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic breakfast. Everything you might want for breakfast, veryb generous too, and also delicious chilled fruit juices, teas and coffee, Dining room was big and very spacious - you could find your own space to eat. I also really appreciated the reception area and kitchen being open all night. I'm a bit of an insomniac and could go and make a hot drink or check emails/read the paper or whatever any time I wanted without disturbing anyone.
Cons: Bathrooms - I was on the ground floor. Drab and and a bit dank though clean. They looked in real need of a makeover or at least repainting in nice modern colours. The water refill station - I found the water tasted disgusting!!! Couldn't drink it. Instead I refilled with water from the fruit juice machine instead.
7.0 Good
Pros: good facilities
Cons: Room not very clean
8.3 Excellent
Pros: There is great lounge and game room, the kitchen is good with everything you need (even if the tea and coffee you have to pay for), staff is very nice and helpful, the location is perfect for several walks. Everything was clean, I felt really safe and the village is so cute as well. Lots of families at this period that made me feel safe so that's a good thing.
Cons: The bedroom was quite small for the number of beds in it : I would put 4 beds instead of 6 because otherwise it is really too warm in the morning. This hostel was more expensive than all the others I've stayed in, but I don't really understand why because it was not better than others I've been. I mean it was nice, but not more than others that was like 33% cheaper. Lack of plugs in the bedrooms and in the common room. The dining room was really cold, and the bathroom as well. The alley should be more lighted because I almost panic in the way up to the hostel, it was so dark I didn't know where I was or where was the hostel, fortunately I had my phone to make light for me, but c'mon in winter it is dark really early so a couple of light besides the hostel pannel and around the building would really make a difference.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Lack of power sockets in room

Pros: Having stayed on 4 previous occasions, I was once again happy with our stay at Lydford House. The breakfast, as ever, was great and we appreciated the quality of ingredients. The room was very comfortable and furnished / fitted to a high standard.
Cons: Room was too hot despite turning off the radiators and opening the windows. Perhaps consider bedding with a lower tog rating.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely large suite in the hay loft. Great bed, sofa and TV, with stunning views up the valley. We enjoyed an amazing evening meal, which was fantastic value for money.
Cons: There isn't much around to walk to, because it is situated on the main road.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a truly charming pub with welcoming publican owners and staff. The room we were assigned (the hayloft) was huge with a very large bathroom and excellent shower. Lovely big white fluffy towels and a ginormous kingsize bed with a beautifully soft warm duvet. We also had a delicious dinner and excellent quality wine. The continental breakfast hamper in the morning is a lovely idea and the meats and cheeses provided were top quality. We were quite sad that we were only able to stay 1 night. Next time if we are lucky enough to return to the area we shall book for longer.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and building with friendly and helpful staff. The dog was an added bonus too!. Good food with veggie options and a decent selection of beers, cider and wine. Accommodation was beautiful and full of character. Only problem we had was we were getting too hot because the heating was on full blast but we didn’t ask the staff to turn it down to be fair to them. Great value for money and I would recommend to any of my Dartmoor loving friends.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The service was excellent and the rooms great.
Cons: The San Miguel wasn't cold enough on draught. The evening food menu was very limited.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms (Saddle Room) were spacious, characterful and clean. Nice selection of beers and Gin.
Cons: If there was any criticism, the evening menu is a little restricted, fine for one maybe 2 nights then eat somewhere else.
