Cons: Nothing Works when you pay $300 a night and cant take a shower because the shower is plugged FAIL. Or go to have a soak in the Roman tub until you turn it on and it spits nasty bits of the last people that used it out FAIL Or the Ac vents are so plugged that it took 2 maintenance people 2 days to get it right FAIL. And the worst part is they have your money because you used a new service and paid up front wont do that again FAIL FAIL FAIL. Spent $1000 dollars in 2 day on room and did not get to enjoy it Priceless NOT!!!

Cons: Jessica the Reservations Manager is rude and unprofessional. Very pricey and on top of that they hold over $400 you never spent on your card..RIDICULOUS!

Cons: It took 50 min to get my car. I was told it was because of "shift change". I asked for the manager to call but they never did. Unreliable Internet. I was unable to connect.

Cons: There was a party there that didn't stop until 1am. Carpet wasn't laid correctly and had many humps to trip you up sometimes. Bed was on a wooden box frame with sharp corners that stuck out far enough to leave a few marks on your shins.

Cons: The first 2 rooms they tried to put us in were IN the stairwell. We read reviews that the hotel will put people in those rooms. It was VERY frustrating but they did end up moving us to a normal room on the 3rd trip down to the front desk.

Cons: Small rooms, rude staff and slow service, no hot tub, overpriced food, really annoying/small bathroom and closet, no Wi-Fi which was supposedly free and included, minimal outlets, ridiculous $19 daily service charge, slow elevator, lots of ongoing renovations with hammering early in the morning.

Cons: Hard to sleep due to people partying. Good part the hotel doesn't tolerate . Security is ready to help.

Cons: Didn't like that our room was on the stairway but it worked out because we had loud music and we didn't disturb the neighbors.

Cons: Air broke 2 nights terrible service terrible crowd and the TV was broken my whole stay. Everyday is have to complain about it and nothing was done. When I asked for at least a night or 2 free because of the inconvenience I was denied

Cons: One of the pools were being reconstructed, but there wasn't a notice about it anywhere on the site. Should've gave guest a discount. Very disappointed

Cons: The hotel was still under reconstruction so elevators were slow. And they automatically added tips on the bill which seemed to be a Miami habit.

Cons: The pool is a bit small, but also felt very private and is Shaded by mid afternoon. Rooms were small, but still larger then some similar hotels I have stayed at in the area.

Cons: The balcony had an outside shower that my one friend accidentally broke by just pulling the chain to turn it on, causing it to dump water out nonstop with no easily accessible or noticeable turn off valve. We let the front desk know and it took them a little bit of time to have someone from maintenance take a look at it. Once he was up, even he was unsure of how to turn it off, attempting to turn several different knobs and valves throughout the room. Eventually, he was able to get the large flow of water down to a drizzle, but at the cost of the water to our room. When we needed to use the bathroom for the toilet, sink, or shower, we had to play with the nozzles ourselves to try and figure out how to turn the water back on to our bathroom while also turning up the volume of water outside too. It's a bit concerning as when we told the front desk they said it "happens all the time" so I am hoping that not only will they still return my security deposit on the room, but will also try and find a better resolution to what sounds to be a recurring problem.

Cons: They don't really have parking even though they advertise it.

Cons: A bit overpriced- our room did not have a microwave and the water in the shower did not get hot or warm the morning we were leaving. Spoke to staff but they were not aware of any problems regarding the hot water.

Cons: Everything no rooms relocated us to 29th. Said they would pay for breakfest ubers never happend. Overall they were try hard purchased a 6 pack of beer for us and the front desk giy not his fault. Also paid for our cab not good enough for how much we spent and where we wanted to ne at. We had plans with friends with walking of the property

Cons: Amenities: TINY room, missing refrigerator, mold in showers. Only two complimentary beach chairs (we had three guests). Location: Hotel is a little bit of a walk from the South Beach area where the major hotels are. There was also a SHOOTING in the alley outside of the hotel (we heard the gunshots from our room and it was confirmed later on the news). Misc.: We were also NOT told about the $20 per day "resort fee" that we were made to pay upon checking out.

Cons: This was definitely not a 4 star hotel. The building and furniture were old looking and outdated and needed some serious TLC. Looks like they haven't put much work into renovations in quite some time. The sink was cracked, the tile needed a cleaning, there was hair on the bathroom floor, it just didn't feel clean and new. The bed was super creaky and the carpet stained. Definitely not what I would have expected from a hotel with this rating. Maybe 3 stars but definitely not 4 and I could have gotten something much nicer for the same price.

Cons: - $20 "resort" fee they charge on top of the reservation that you can't opt out of. Plus taxes. - Smallish rooms, but decent furniture - A/C was really, really loud

Cons: The bar was under renovation so no drinks in lobby but who drinks in the lobby anyways.

Cons: BEWARE OF BEDBUGS!!! Mattress condition was terrible!

Cons: Not one of the lamps in my room work. If it weren't for the high-hat lights the room would have been completely dark

Cons: The shower was dirty. It had mildew or mold growing in the grout. Also, the bathroom smelled like sewage, which is not necessarily the hotel's fault. Sometimes there is nothing that can be done based on the way the plumbing is set up. The only other time I have experienced this though, was at a hostel in Costa Rica. So it was a bit disappointing.

Cons: The staff was deceiving, unwilling to help and provided the overall worst hotel experience i have ever encountered. The hotel valet staff informed me that I could leave my car parked in front for a few hours while i went to eat dinner and when I returned my car was towed. I tried to explain this to the staff as well last the managers Alvaro Diaz and Gregory Capella. They both informed me that there was nothing they could do. Even though they admitted that the valet may have given me the wrong information, there was nothing they were willing to do to rectify the situation. $281 and hours later i was able to retrieve my vehicle back. The tow company informed me that it was the hotel that called them to have the car towed and they do this all the time! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone simply based off the poor customer service and lack of training of the staff and management. They truly do NOT care about their guests or accommodating to any of their guests needs. I am currently pursuing legal action to be reimbursed for my tow, cab, time and expenses due to their error. There are plenty of choices of places to stay on Miami Beach and I would NOT recommend this one even if they are offering a better price at the time.

Cons: This was such a horrible experience. The rooms are gross, they look nothing like the photos. The hotel staff has horrible horrible attitudes. No-one is willing to help you. The hotel is not a 4 star, I would probably consider it about a 1. Please do not waste your money, there are so so many other places in Miami that are so much nicer.

Cons: The expensive valet took forever. Rooms and amenities were mediocre... not worth the money you pay for this hotel.

Cons: Had some mold in my shower in an otherwise spotless room. Had two awful experiences in the cafe. Both times the person on duty forgot about me. Had to chase him up for a beer I ordered 20 minutes prior with my meal. Another time, he left me sitting for 15 minutes without attending to me. He only had 2 tables on both occasions. Despite these bad experiences I have to say that this was just ONE person... All the other staff, including the manager, were outstanding !!!

Cons: The front desk staff was rude and gave us attitude when we complained. When my husband called at 1am in the morning to say the music is so loud that our floors are vibrating, all the receptionist offered was ear plugs... Seriously. The pictures online are really updated because the lobby and the pool area were really old and dirty. The roof deck was not even open, the only place to hangout was pretty much the restaurant which was super expensive. Definitely not staying here EVER AGAIN.

Cons: Kayak was great but Breakwater is a sleezy lemon. Upon our arrival at 1 am Saturday we were tired and eager to get to our room. The receptionist strongly persuaded us to upgrade to a much more expensive room for $180 + tax so it would be quiet. He then proceeded to charge my card but forgot the tax so asked me to give him my credit card again so he could charge the sales tax. He also informed us upon arrival there is a $22/day resort fee but this was not stated anywhere on Kayak. Also as we were dealing with check in another guest came up to the desk and asked for ear plugs because the club music outside the hotel was too loud. And YES it was VERY LOUD. We were in a room that was pretty quiet for what it was but on Sunday night, by boyfriend WHO IS A DJ wasn't even able to fall asleep until 4 am because it was so loud! The room itself had a nice view but it had a lot of issues from lazy upkeep. The bed sheets had stains on them, the bench at the foot of the bed had weird sticky dirt marks from removed tape stains, the bathroom tub was worn down cracked and stained (didn't use it unfortunately because it looked so gross), and the shower floor was cracked. Using the TV was also a mess. The remote didn't work and no channel guide. We tried multiple times to dial the front desk from the hotel phone to have these addressed but the line would disconnect every time we hit the front desk or 0 button. Not sure if they don't want to hear from you, the line is inundated with calls, or something was wrong with the phone. The staff has not been trained to be friendly and welcoming to their guests. They view us as a bother and just want a fast interaction so they can quickly move on to the next opportunity to make money. The waiters/waitresses at the front of the hotel in the morning were more concerned with snagging passersby (as every other restaurant on that street) for business than greeting their current guests eating breakfast. I said good morning to a few of them and received very cold and snobby responses. They didn't make eye contact with me and didn't offer any interaction. So rude! One day I was using a computer in the lobby and a manager was severely scolding a server right there in the lobby for doing something that wasn't appropriate. She was very nasty and mean to him, and the one way scolding went on for literally 10 minutes. It was so unpleasant and uncomfortable to witness that as a guest. The employees should have a private area they use for this kind of thing, not out in the public lobby! This hotel is appropriate for frat boys/college aged kids that want to party hard, trash rooms, and recover on the beach afterwards without making much effort in getting there. We were paying over $300/night for this room and it's evident the Breakwater heavily relies on their location to make visitors happy and turn over business quickly, but does not put in any other effort. Definitely won't be staying here again. :(

Cons: Not for older couples or families, this does not include me but it is a forewarning. I didn't know gratuity would be added automatically until I arrived at my first day. But I was advised on the first day. The cleaning ladies were on time and did a great job, so gratuity was worth it.

Cons: The unexpected upon arrival $40 resort fee was a bit much for a hotel with basically no amenities

Cons: I could hear people walking above me. Their footsteps caused light fixture on my ceiling to rattle and both sounds were a bit annoying late at night. Breakfast was pretty bad. Everything was cold, in using the eggs, sausage and French toast. Also the total bill is a little more than what I thought I paid. The resort fee is included in the initial bill, without tax. The resort fee,with taxes, is actually charged at check out, which made my total about $8 more than expected.

Cons: Place is dirty. Stayed there in the past around 2 years ago and had a great experience. Place Has not been kept up. Rugs dirty, bathroom wall stained with something I would rather not mention. When checked in was told we got upgraded to Penthouse at no charge. Penthouse was old, dirty, filthy rugs with hot tub that did not work. Really??? Not an upgrade but a way to get someone in that room no one else would take. Declined upgrade and demanded the room we booked. Great location and staff but dirty. Also toiletries not replaced daily. Bring your own supplies

Cons: We tried getting beach towels twice, they were out. Didn't have more than one bath towel in the room, needed more before shower. They never came. 2 different service fees $22/day which really is $44/day.

Cons: Completely apathetic staff, disorganized and chaotic dining area. No one really in charge. Despite multiple attempts to speak to the manager, the mgr never came. I'd rather burn my money or throw it away than give it to an establishment such as this.

Cons: - price too high - very very small rooms - pillows didn't have cover under the sheets and the pillow was yellow and smelled terrible -- but for the second I tried it felt amazing! - room was pretty clean, not spotless clean (some hairs on the shower)

Cons: A tad more customer oriented...Landed and wanted to take a shower and the shower gel bottle was empty and would have to wait until normal business hours for it to get replenished....bathroom sink only scolding hot water and my kid got burned while trying to brush her teeth.

Cons: No view, overcrowded due to spring break, and the grounds could have been a bit cleaner.

Cons: Parking was $60 per 24 hours.You can park and the Miami garage across the street for $35. We have a strange smell in our room at times.
