They didn't have the car we reserved and didn't of
Cons: The Miami Beach place is terrible. We've rented using Enterprise in other locations and it was good, but here it was different. They said they don't have the car we rented and "that's it". Didn't offer us another option, or at least another locations where we can go. They even told me that my phone was not valid.. I told them to try while I was there and they didn't want.
Very bad experience, will never rent with them again.

Living the mustang life
Pros: Rented a mustang for a very reasonable price, nice easy pickup great service from the staff, even took us home after dropping car off!

Cons: The fact that my Kayak rental reservation wasn't honoured because there was a physical lack of inventory - something NOT picked up by Kayak. Shame.

Creepy request at pickup
Cons: Dropoff was fine, but at pickup the agent at the desk tried to pressure me into giving him a ride in the car that I was picking up, since "it would make it easier for him to get to a meeting." When I said I had an appointment to make and didn't want a detour to make me late (not to mention the fact that I didn't feel comfortable giving a stranger a ride, especially as a young woman), he kept trying to argue that it wouldn't take any time at all and that his destination was on the way to mine. (It wasn't. It would have added 15+ minutes to my trip, at rush hour.) When I kept refusing, he seemed annoyed. Completely inappropriate -- I've never heard of anything like this happening!
Pros: Under $20/day for a full size Chevy Impala? That's a great deal. I just needed it for the day. Very easy and accessible location. Very friendly agent. All around a great experience.
Cons: 1- The gas tank was full, and I returned it with half a tank. Usually rental companies charge a small premium for the gas if you don't bring the car back with as much gas as it had it the tank when you got it, but I war HORRIFIED to learn that the cost of buying the gas through Budget$10/gallon gas through Budget was $10/gallon!!!!! So I had to take the car back out of the structure, and gas up, which ordinarily isn't a problem. However, I was visiting Miami during Art Basel, and traffic was the worst I've ever experienced in my live (I'm from LA). So that was a shame that I couldn't take advantage of the convenience factor of returning the car half full without paying $10/gallon for gas.
2- During the booking process, Kayak offered me insurance on the rental. It mentioned that the insurance was being bought through Alianz, the 3rd party insurance provider, but I presumed I would pay for this at the rental counter. In fact the insurance was pre-paid, and while it was cheaper than Budget's insurance at the counter, I wish I'd have had the option to buy this insurance at the counter.

Pros: Super helpful and courteous...but Miami is a pretty nice and friendly place anyway. Much better than our experience in other Florida cities...namely Orlando. Car was not great...
Cons: Checking out the car was a tedious process...more staff are needed at the Collins Ave. site.
We were not made aware of the additional $10 charge on our rental charge for tolls until we checked out the car.
Cons: Car was not available (overbooking) and after showing disappointment was given a dirty, scratched and overall bad condition car. When car was returned (on time as per contract), I got the relevant receipt with the correct due amount but when I checked my account I saw a $ 175 surcharge. I have submitted a complaint on HERTZ's website and am still waiting for their reaction and refund.

Pros: The on screen check-in "expert", Kathy, was excellent, very knowledgeable and clear.
Cons: The car's air conditioning conked out on the drive to Palm Beach from Miami. It seemed that the engine for this small car just was not able to handle highway speed and AC. However, interestingly, on the return drive, the AC worked fine. (Perhaps it just needed the 3 hour rest it had.)
The on screen person for the return processing, did not know that he was supposed to process returns -- he got up, went to see his supervisor, I think, and returned then knowing that he was supposed to process returns. He may have been new, but was clearly not well trained. Odd.
The car's back seat was rather dirty -- looked like the vacuum just missed it. Fortunately, we just needed the front seats.
Overall, I would not rent that particular car again, but the experience was mediocre, not terrible, in general.
