10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful country pub; light and cosy, and we were greeted with festive treats too!
Cons: Nothing, it’s wonderful, we can’t recommend it highly enough!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A comfortable stay was made even better because of the friendly and flexible approach of our hosts.
Cons: Parking was off the road but reversing in off a busy junction in the frost was dicey!
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff where extremely friendly
Cons: Cleanliness was not great and there was a bad smell.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect service from start to finish. There was a problem with the booking system at booking.com which meant that although our confirmation from booking.com said 3 people, this hadn't filtered through to the hotel and they were told only 2 people, which could have been a nightmare. Kinder Lodge went out of their way to resolve it for us, providing an extra room that they could have rented to someone else. 100% we will be returning to this place when we visit Hayfield again, but will book direct with hotel next time. Thank you.
7.0 Good
Pros: The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast excellent
Cons: Nothing
5.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly hosting.
Cons: Mainly, the huge spotlights that point from the ground to illuminate the entrance also beamed who knows how many lumens into our bedroom all night! The curtains weren't much use, so we hung the throw over the curtain rail which blocked out some of the light, but it really is very bright throughout the night due to the spotlights. The room was fine, it's just a bit tired - handles on windows half fallen off, dripping taps etc - and the breakfast was pretty average. No menu or anything, just a "what would you like"? Which was fine, but for £80 per night would expect a bit more.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast
Cons: Parking was difficult, limited spaces out front, little street parking. Pay and display round the corner , need to be up early to feed the meter.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, friendly staff, good value for the price. Clean but basic accommodation
Cons: Only criticism is only 1 double socket available to use which was behind the wardrobe so not easy to access for plugging in kettle, charges etc

Pros: Breakfast was exceptional. The location is brilliant for walking. The food was delicious. Every one of the staff was friendly and helpful. It felt you were genuinely being welcomed into someone's home rather than staying in a bed and breakfast! We will certainly be going back to stay and will try to make our next stay longer too. A perfect retreat and a much-needed recharge of our batteries. Loved it. ❤️
Cons: Honestly? Nothing could have been better other than a longer stay.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast, requested gluten free bread with booking form had to ask. The lady got the bread and took it through to the toaster that had been used for normal bread. Maybe a little more knowledge on allergies as this is cross contamination so couldn’t eat. Apart from this stay was EXCELLENT.

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
7.0 Good
Pros: We had a room next to the lift, thankfully, in a quiet part of the hotel. The staff were attentive and polite. The food (both at dinner and breakfast) was excellent. The antique furniture (everywhere, but also in the room) was a delight
Cons: I could not get hot water out of the otherwise excellent shower in the morning. My initial impression was that the carpets (especially in the public areas) need attention. this let down the otherwise fascinating and delightful place. We were sad to see indifferent paintings on the wine bar wall - they have been there for about 4 years, as far as we know, and are neither "good Art" nor relate to the location or indeed the fabulous local scenery. The hotel is missing a commercial trick by not reproducing some of the fascinating images on the walls relating to the history of this important hotel, or the spectacular local scenery or architecture
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Full or character
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Top breakfast

Cons: It was all great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was excellent, particularly the evening dinner - just the right amount and delicious. The location for us was fantastic with nice scenery and lots of walking for which sandwiches and water was provided.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly. Lovely comfortable bed. Complementary welcome drinks in and fresh milk in bedroom.
7.0 Good
Pros: The grounds are very beautiful. Great location to go hiking in the peaks. We had the Indulgence Menu in the restaurant and the service and food was excellent.
Cons: Sadly, we didn't know that we booked on "Burns night" weekend, which meant that a giant group of crazy drunk people was also in the restaurant and staying at the hotel. We couldn't have a proper conversation and because there is very little sound insulation, we got woken up multiple times in the middle of the night by drunks returning to their room. It was like living with teenagers all over again. Apparently this is a yearly thing, and this group books every year, in which case, the hotel should warn people about in advance. I didn't expect to pay to be woken up all night long. I would stay again if this group wasn't there and the sounds insulation was better.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Evening meal was fantastic and exceptional value for money - £29 per person for a superb 3 course meal
Cons: Our room was a little on the small side in the Lodge
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location for walkers in the lower Peak DIstrict. We've stayed at other hotels in the area, but this was the only one we felt we had to visit again - and it had got even better. The food was great, the staff were super friendly, service was fast and efficient, rooms were cosy and comfortable, complementary packed lunches were top notch and there was even a complementary welcome drink waiting for us in the in-room fridge. Best of all was the price. This lovely country house hotel is fantastic value for money
Cons: I asked my wife is she could think of anything that could have made our stay even better, but the only thing she could think of (other then the weather) was maybe they could have some more exciting choices of ice cream on the dessert menu - but we're really going out of our way to nit-pick
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All fantastic place and location if you what peace and quiet then this is the place lovley
Cons: Nothing

Pros: The room size, the bed was comfy, cleanliness of accomodation. the staff were good, good breakfast, good location.
Cons: We were in room number eight, unfortunately it was over the boiler room,so when got water was running the boiler kicked in and it was very loud in our room,we were offered another room straight away, but we thought it wouldn't be a problem when we went to bed as we didn't think people would be bathing late at night. However I was woken up a couple times in the early hours, obviously people going to the loo and washing their hands, once I was awake I couldn't get back to sleep.I am a light sleeer so it did bother me, my husband had no problem and slept like a log.I cannot fault the management as they did offer us another room and I would gladly stay there again but not in the same room.
