Pros: Location is good. Walking distance to most of the attraction places and shopping areas (Pasar Atas)

Cons: Seen cats moving around at the breakfast area. Don't feel very comfortable. My room door is difficult to open. Have to call the reception for help.

Pros: staff very friendly and helpful

Pros: The location, the warmth of the staff at the reception and the cleanliness.

Cons: Handling the breakfast counter on Sunday where no food was available and they hardly replenished it.

Pros: Perfect location near the great square with the tower Jam Gadang. Very spacious and stylish hotel, like a palace. Nice pool, suitable for western swimming suits. Outstanding breakfast. We took a room with mountain view. Friendly helpful personnel. Walking distance to the most important sightseeing points: Fort De Kock, The Zoo, the Japanese tunnels and the panorama view over the Sianok canyon (Ngarai Sianok). We walked across the canyon to the village Koto Gadang (2 - 3 hours walk, back with a bemo), where you can find several silver art shops.

Cons: The only minor point: The mosque with a strong speaker that started the first call to prayer about half an hour before sunset.

Cons: Food little bit spicy. Air conditioning in my room sometimes smell bad (toilet smell) or perhaps it is the ventilation issue.

Pros: The fish and chips were tasty.

Cons: Room smelled like the sewer. Sheets were not replaced from the previous guests. We were able to smell the perfume on the sheets.

Pros: The housekeeping cleaned the room really clean and neat

Cons: The breakfast, the hot water was not hot, the ac was hot, the bed was creaking, internet was really slow

Cons: Some staff were good, some not good at all. Cleaning was not good at all. In 5 days they did not clean the tables in our room. In the pool area, we had to ask the staff to clean the tables every day, and the staff were NOT busy at all. Unacceptable!

Cons: The toilet was very poor, lacked of maintenance and we also found a very disturbing creatures such as cockroach in the hotel's room.

Pros: Abundance of plants and flowers. Hot shower works well. Nice deco, love the timber ceiling. Cool nights. Sounds of muezzins calling for prayers. Breakfast.

Cons: Cats litter. Caged bird, free them. No electric fan. Broken table.

Pros: Staff nice ,organised driver for airport pick-up which worked very well. Location on a hill side with nice views on the vulcano. Spacious shared living area with nice lounge and armchairs. Breakfast okay.

Cons: no sink inside the room, only one shared sink for all rooms. Uncomfortable very firm mattress with small pillow. Noisy at night.

Pros: Nice room with wardrobe and shelves, balcony and small bathroom. Breakfast was served in the lovely garden and was good.

Cons: The room was clean but if only they had changed the old worn out carpet on the floor the feeling of cleanliness would prevail.

Pros: I like the neighbourhood. It is in the middle of town so it is within walking distance to shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. The twin bed I requested is soft and comfortable. I had a very good rest. My mom also enjoys being near the mosque so she could go for the morning prayer with the rest of the locals.

Cons: There is no spoon or basic coffee or tea sachet in the room. Im not sure if there was any pantry though because I can't find it. It is very basic. There is no kettle as well. The hot water from the lobby isn't hot enough.

Pros: The breakfast was good enough, on weekends there was more variety of food. Staff are genuinely friendly and accommodating, While they didn't provide a mini fridge, they did have a hot and cold water dispenser on every floor, with clean glasses in each room. Location is excellent. Within walking distance to Jam Gadang, Ramayana Mall, Pasar Atas, Jambatan Limpapeh, Fort de Kock, Kinantan Zoo. A mosque is right next door. At night there are many F&B stalls nearby.

Cons: There are no elevators so you have to go up the stairs. MIght be a bit difficult for the elderly, people with knee problems and those with babies. We booked 2 rooms, and only realized later that our room was much smaller than the others (my mother in law had a bigger room). After the 2nd night we asked to switch to a bigger room and the staff happily obliged as soon as there was one available. Our first room was also very bright at night because there is a window above the door that lets light in from the stairwell. I think some rooms don't have A/C, only a fan, so be sure to ask before checking in.

Cons: Receptionist ask to cancel booking at the counter.. I don't know why... I refuse to do that.

Pros: Impressive and grandiose premises, not matched by the quality of the room finishing. Poor restaurant attendance and very limited menu. Access to the swimming pool from the rooms is not easy. Breakfast offerings are limited and choices are inadequate.

Cons: i have to wait more than one hour for the room to be ready.

Pros: The hotel is beautiful, with the solid wood finishing and carving. The bedroom and bathroom is huge. The staff there are very accommodating, tried to solve any room problem as best as they can. Even though it seem that we are the only guest there, the breakfast is abundant.

Cons: We went there during peak season and because this is last minute, all the other hotel is sold out. The hotel is beautiful but sadly is not well maintained. We went there in group of 8 and we think that we are the only one there! One of the room have light that can't be turned off, the staff did offer to change the room, but they then tell us other room is unavailable so they decided to fix the light the next day so they have to sleep with the light turned on. Water is unavailable when i wake up to use the bathroom at 4am but is back on when try to use it at 6am. The sliding door at shower area in all bathroom is missing a door so whenever i take shower, the bathroom get all wet.This hotel may have been a 4 star hotel before, but now it is lost out to many other new hotels. It is located right in the city but still a bit far from the shopping areas. Seem that it is now waiting for a handover as it is under-maintained.

Pros: All.. the rooms, the location, the views...the staff all is perfect
