Cons: I did ask for one family room on booking.com. you gave me two rooms which cost double the price. 2 small children slept with mummy and daddy in a double bed while the second room was left untouched. Nobody wanted to give me the cost of the unused room back. Poor service by booking.com and by the hotel who did not want to know about it and would not understand.

Pros: The location is right in the city center about a 3 minute walk from both the castle and the Cathedral. The staff are friendly and speak English as well as German. The room was clean and quiet.
Cons: They charge 5 Euro for delivery of room service, which didn't impress us at all. We also couldn't put drinks from the bar on our room tab. Room service came to clean the room at 8:00 AM, meaning that if you don't explicitly put the "do not disturb" tag on your door, you'll get a rude awakening. (That's probably our fault though)

Pros: The hotel is of a good standard. It has nice style, layout, comfort levels.
Cons: I was really disappointed with the parking arrangements. There was really not enough effort made for guests to understand this. Maybe for staff this is obvious, but for a first time person at the hotel, it was below expectations. Parking is in the garage for the mall. Your ticket only works in one machine (I found this out on the last day). I did not park in the garage the first 2-nights, instead the business centre which I found out was wrong. However, from the outside it is really unclear that this is not allowed. The hotel manager was actually really rude with regards to this, and said I would be towed and it was my fault. Also the discounting of the ticket from the hotel was also troublesome with the machines, readers, etc. The first morning it took me 45 minutes to exit the car park. This was maybe a particularly bad experience and leaves me angry to return what is actually a nice hotel.

Pros: Hotel position is really good. It is reasonably close to railway station, within 20-30 min. walk, and in the very center of Braunschweig. Reception work is perfect. Our room was ready even ealrier than we expected. Our bed was quite good, and we liked our breakfest. Hotle supplied us with bathrobes and slippers of rather good quality. After check out we left our luggage at the reception, and they put it very safely to a special cupboard.

When I arrived a friendly lady at the front desk promised me that it would not be a problem to give me an invoice for my employer to pay for the stay, unfortunately the next morning this statement, as I have found out, was false. I had to pay via my credit card and my request for the invoice to be paid by my employer was impossible to fullfill. I will not stay in this hotel next time.

Cons: They had forgotten to turn on the heat, it was freezing cold, and we slept with our coats on. The Hotel was being restored, therefore there was a horrible smell from the carpet glue, which made breathing unpleasant. We canceled the following nights, as it was impossible to sleep both because of the cold and because of the strong smell. The restaurant breakfast was the worse we have had for many years in a hotel. The date on the tea bags was long overdue and the bread old and dry. No service what so ever perhaps the staff was off?

Even though there small small amount of guest, food ran out and we needed to search for staff and ask for replenishing the bar. Most important - price for hotel was ridiculous. I do not know the real reason behind it. Hotel seemed to be nearly empty but it was offering only their most expensive rooms. All other hotels around did the same. If we, because of private reasons, were not forced to search for a hotel in that area we would never pay that money.

Cons: We came on Saturday and Sunday I had a Masterclass. I asked for a quiet room. It was not so quiet. 03:30 AM I went downstairs and requested another room. We got a severe downgrade and chose to keep the room, It turns out the facilities across the streets attract loud drunk people and sometimes with boom boxes, and the red light district is a few meters from the hotel. We did not sleep much due to the noise. Sunday was better but it really put a damper on our stay. Vegan options ( Fruit and vegetables but limited ) not sure about lactose/grain free options. Germany is a bread/cheese/meat country after all.

Cons: Black out curtains needed as at the break of dawn my room was light and the curtains made no difference. My shower area was very small, if I was any bigger than a UK 16 I would have had issues.

Cons: Room not ready despite late arrival of which reception was aware of. Rubbish left in cupboards and beds not made ready. Staff very rude. Advice given: not to travel late at night with young family...(?) Asked for additional bottle of water (as it was hot night) but informed only 1 bottle available per room... (?) Felt more like being in a really chilled out dormitory but not in the hotel. Not what you expect when traveling wit kids.

Cons: Some staff: One lady I asked for assistance in trying to make an online booking from the computer - no help. I asked if she could please help print something out for me - NO. The location was way too far from a bus stop or the main downtown. The 422 bus that was the closest for us to be able to take to IBIS Budget stopped running by 18:00 and then we were left to walk the streets at night with packages and luggage for 1/2 hour after our last bus at Rudoplatz. This is once we found a path, got our phones working with GPS. The first night it took nearly 2hrs to get home walking the streets of Braunschweig until nearly 1am....agonizing to make to the hostile...almost took someone's offer for a ride, but knew better since I had no idea who they were. Plus we had a very large Suitcase, one carry-on and backpacks. This was an awful experience!

Cons: Loudly cracking doors and cabinets. A very cold bathroom and no heating in it. Something in the bed smelled slightly of mould. Ridiculous light in the bathroom: you have to use a switch to enable it and after a while a movement sensor turns it off, while you are using it.
