8.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are pretty and very clean. We loved the view down to the river. The breakfast is excellent. We also had a fantastic dinner. The decor is beautiful and the hotel is kid-friendly.
Cons: The pool didn't look clear. The last time we stayed, it was much cleaner. The young lady at the front desk sounded very annoyed when I asked her what the soup and salad dinner was like. Not sure why that question was so annoying!!
9.0 Excellent
Cons: The bed pillows were quite firm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. Close to Woodstock and 30 mins from Killington ski resort. Very clean, large comfortable rooms and beds. Beautiful decor. Tasty breakfast. Pool lovely. Very friendly staff.
Cons: Evening menu was a little limited and the same every night with no specials.

The Shire Woodstock - Woodstock - Building

8.4 Excellent (76 reviews)
₹ 11,629+
Overview Reviews
The Shire Woodstock offers a rare respite from todays hectic world. Explore the pastoral countryside, walk the charming downtown, or laze the day away in a rocking chair and enjoy our panoramic river views. Whether youre planning a summer vacation or a winter retreat, your stay at The Shire Woodstock awaits.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location is ideal and the room was clean
Cons: The heat was not sufficient for the temperatures, there were no additional blankets and it was 50-60 deg in our room overnight. There was also no shampoo/conditioner at check in and our bathroom was not fully prepared for our article (limited towels, used toiletries). The office was closed at check in time and we left a day early. There was limited staff available to discuss any concerns with.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was awesome. And our view was gorgeous. The space in the River Suite was wonderful! The beds were comfy.
Cons: The kitchen needs lots of attention. Stove, oven and dishwasher all need service ASAP. All cabinets and drawers need a thourough cleaning as well all of kitchen. The layout is wonderful but it definitely has quite a “used” feeling. Some basic supplies should be provided. Salt pepper foil paper towels dish soap dish towels etc... would make such a huge difference upon arrival. Also an update on some pans and utensils. The stove is a bit of a fire issue if you don’t know how to light it. The cabinet space is wonderful and the refrigerator is great! Counter space for cooking was perfect! Two large trash cans would be nice. One for garbage one for recycle. It really would be nice to have two roll away beds in the unit. It’s so large to only sleep 4 is crazy. The pullout sofa is nice but inconvenient in the morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very helpful in restaurant recommendations. The place is nicely located to just outside downtown so you were within walking distance.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view of the river, walking distance to the town, very comfortable beds, pillow and sheets. Very clean. Will definitely stay again!
Cons: Noisy heating system and bathroom maybe a little tired
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Did not eat any meals at the Shire. We love the location and the scenery. The room was beautiful and we love the fireplace.
8.5 Excellent
Cons: More space, though i think it is good as it is ;)
5.7 Okay
Pros: Good location.
Cons: See above. Would have been nice to have coffee maker in the room. Refrigerator didn't work. Too expensive for what we got.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view and the comfortable bed.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This motel was obviously renovated recently. Our room had two lovely comfortable queen size sleigh beds. The location was walkable into town which we did for dinner.
Cons: We arrived at 8:30 but the office closed at 8:00. They left a key so it was OK. We where skiing so we were gone before the office opened at 8am.
The Jackson House Inn - Woodstock - Building

Overview Reviews
Located in Woodstock, The Jackson House Inn is within a 5-minute drive of Union Arena Community Center and Woodstock Town Hall Theatre. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff. Amazing breakfast. Sumptuous ambience and decor. Very clean.
Cons: Nothing.
5.4 Okay
Cons: It was the most unwelcoming and rude reception that I have ever experienced. We arrived at 3.15 versus the 4pm check in time that is highlighted on the entry door as you approach the facilities. The inn was empty, no one around and we did not have cell reception. We used the office phone to call the number noted at the reception desk to use. A sleepy voice answered our call, and upon giving the name , we were told that “... even if we have your reservations you are too early”. We were apologetic and taken aback by this comment, but the inn keeper did reluctantly say that they will come down in a few minutes. Once they came down we came to realize that there was a mix up in the reservations, and that though our booking showed active it in fact had been canceled mistakenly. One inn keeper mentioned that a couple had checked out early, but when we suggested that we might have their room, we were told that it had not been cleaned and that they would have to check on that, and that they would call to let us know either way. At this point we were relieved that our reservations had been mixed up and drove into town. We luckily found a room at the Woodstock Inn. For an up charge of 40$ we had a wonderfully welcoming staff, beautiful facilities in the heart of charming Woodstock. Highly recommended. Needless to say, we never received the call either way...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Matt and Chris were amazing hosts
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every room was immaculate. The dining room was beautiful and elegant. Matthew and Chris are wonderful hosts who make an amazing breakfast and cookies!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Chris and Matthew, the Innkeepers truly understand how to ensure the traveler needs are being. Jackson House Inn has all of the amenities one expects from a high-end B & B. Well done!
Cons: I have no recommendations. The Innkeepers are doing an excellent job.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spotless, quiet, comfy and cozy.
Cons: Wish dinner was served. Wish fireplace burned longer.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hosts, gorgeous property, and absolutely brilliant breakfast! Would definitely stay there again. They were wonderful!
Cons: Not a thing! Just a little on the expensive side.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambiance of the inn was wonderful, with attention to detail in decor, Italian linens, beautiful pieces of art, lavish books and multiple places to sit comfortably and relax. This created an overall feeling of being in a very special place with warm, hospitable hosts who made the inn feel like your home. Our room was very comfortable and the shower water pressure gave a very good invigorating shower. The multi course breakfast was thoughtfully planned, cooked and presented. The table linens, pottery, dishes with view and fireplace made this one of my all time favorite breakfast times ever!! Matt and Chris were very kind, attentive and caring hosts.
Cons: The fact I had to leave !!

It’s the perfect walking distance to town and you are able to really immerse yourself in the classic Vermont charm! We truly enjoyed our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Woodstocker is a very nice B&B, and we liked it a lot. The room was cozy and comfortable and very quiet, even though it was on the front of the building. Apparently they put in new windows recently, and they really blocked the noise from the road. The breakfast was probably one of the best we've ever had at a B&B, with several menu items to choose from, with almost everything sourced locally. The innkeepers we very hospitable and friendly, and the layout of the first floor lends itself to mingling with other guests (or not, if you prefer), with a small living room, library, coffee bar and large breakfast room. We would highly recommend this place and are already talking about when we might come back.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Kareem and Isabelle are wonderful hosts, the breakfast superb and we love the Wanders room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: super big light airy room. wonderful bed and all the amenities you could wish for, and more.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cute and well-kept inn, and very friendly service. Cozy bar room, restaurant and lounge/living room. Excellent cocktails and wine knowledge and selections. Breakfast made to order was very good. We will definitely return!
6.3 Good
Pros: Pleasant proprietor. Bed was quite comfortable with nice crisp sheets. Breakfast was nice.
Cons: Towels were very thin and not absorbent. It is an old building, but bedroom renovations were not of high quality, including sparse and unimaginative bathroom. FAR too many throw pillows and only two substandard pillows to sleep on. Common area on main floor was very dated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was superb, and the staff was friendly, welcoming, and gracious. We walked the grounds, visited the river, and enjoyed fireside cocktails.
Cons: The fact that we could not stay longer. We had to get home, but I would have loved to stay a few more days.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly and welcoming, Lincoln Inn is a cozy place and I felt like being in my own house! Breakfast is delicious
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were as depicted online, clean, warm, and comfortable. Lovely views of the river! Delicious breakfast!
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing
Cons: We arrived there and were rudely told we couldn’t stay Bc I had my children. I booked a king size bed Bc my kids sleep with me. The lady insinuated I lied and on Xmas night late turned us away. Never offered a different room. Talked to us like we were dirt in front of guests. Would never even think about that place as an option.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Very Rude Staff/Unavailable Tiny Room Dirt in Battroom Coffee cups were dirty Owner is very aggressive $185 and the worst experience one can have, literally the worst. She just doesn't care about guests and once checked in, no one is there to help as herself and 2employees were in the house across the building; once you request something, they just react aggressively and give you this look that you are bothering them. Very strange people were coming in and out of that place.
Cons: If you d like to throw your money away then go there. Owner is very toxic and seem to be under some heavy drugs, very scary russian woman & very aggressive. She was dressed like a bum and reminds you that it is her place. Aggressive enough that she gets too close to talk to you. Strange activities at her place: most likely a brothel house/ mafia type
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms not as nice as other B&Bs in the area. Breakfast was nothing to write home about - for a place that advertises about their culinary expertise, a piece of toast and an egg are not exactly sophisticated cuisine.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I went for a quick weekend get away and on a whim booked a room at The Lincoln Inn. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. Mara, the hostess, was warm and welcoming - a fascinating person with a remarkable back story. Her partner and chef, Yvgenia, is a meticulous cook who leaves no detail go unnoticed. Our breakfast was a masterpiece - I've never had better bacon and the fruit was cut and presented beautifully. We didn't plan to stay for dinner, and that was our mistake - and one we won't make again.
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location for skiing and snowmobiling .. Also close to downtown shopping ❤️

Cons: There is nothing bad we could say it was an amazing place and the owners were too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jill and Don were kind enough to upgrade our room which has never happened to us. We were given a much larger room with a fireplace and porch. Jill has thought of every detail to make her guests feel comfortable : from water to snacks to ample space for everything. Breakfast was a gourmet treat cooked to perfection. We travel a lot, and this B and B was quite exceptional. Our hosts, by their actions, demonstrated their investment in our well being .
